wow, got a lucky winner to competition (and bit with money as well).

3:40 Ascot: Jonah Jones is probably not gonna win as i just backed it. Somebody told it's been good and should win soon, seem to be favorite. So recommend to get away from that as my bets usually don't match twice a day.

2.45F RFC Orchestral Rain/Topkapi Star. Wouldn't be taking evens about the favourite here, although it probably has the best chance of winning, I certainly wouldn't put it in a bet at that price. Can't see it being out the first 2 though, so a RFC covers the possibility that something might beat it, Topkapi star being the one most likely to do so in my view. Other thing to note, and probably why Orchestral Rain is Evens is it's the jockey and trainer's only runner of the day here. It's a 3 hour drive for the horse, and about 4.5 for Sean, so they clearly expect to pick some winninsg up for the day out. If it drifted out to say 2/1 (unlikely) I would have a decent size bet on it. I do think its got the best chance of winning, just don't think the price offers any value at evens.

Some ok racing at York for a change today.

1.30Y I like 2 here at decent prices, Glasses Up and Scottish Summit. I think they are both around the same level and at the prices will be going for Glasses Up, as I think they should both be around 16/1, SS is 16/1, GU is 33/1 (5 places). The main negative is the trainers poor form, although he isn't coming last in all the races, he is just missing out on places a lot of the time. I do think he is at the top end of the weight he can carry, so is a bit risky, but at 33/1 I'll take the chance.

3.05Y Tynecastle Park 33/1. Racing Post comments are 'Fibresand specialist; none of his turf form lives up to this career-high Flat mark' which is fair enough, but he hardly runs on turf over the flat, and the last time he did (18 months ago) came 2nd in a race not much worse than this. He also runs well over the jumps, so it's not like he doesn't like turf. Has ran in better races than this on the AW. Worth a go EW.

3.40Y Benefit Street 10/1 5 places. 3nd last time in a similar race to this, beaten under 2 lengths to the favourite that day. Clearly improving and has a better jockey on board today. Can't see him being out the first 5 today.

4.10Y Flood Defence 16/1. Ignore the last run, it was a tactical race that he finishe last in, and even then, only by 3.5l. He always seems to do better in August/September and this race is about his level. Don't expect it to win, but could sneak a place.

Decided to go back to basics today.

Do not know why i have been doing a few e/w bets as can't even get them placed lol.

So just did a lucky 15 win on some of earlier races. Did not have good look so will look at later races better and see what is running.
