Currently around 1/2 that racing will resume in the UK by June 1st, so looking at that, we might get some soon.

It's being pretty widely reported that horse racing will resume in France on May 11. The sports minister has stated that all sporting events will be cancelled until September, but horse racing isn't classed as sport in France, it comes under agriculture

I've quite enjoyed the racing from America and now we have French racing from tomorrow. I'm quite pleased about getting introduced to American racing. Bring on racing in the UK soon :)

Shouldn't be too much longer, was talking to my brother earlier who works for an on course bookie, and he reckons it will be starting behind closed doors within a month or so, or at least thats what the current plans are.

As long as there are races in my time zone while I am off to keep me occupied then I am happy. But UK racing is my livelyhood in part,or should have been this year :(

Same for my brother, he had already gone part time as the bookie had cut the tracks he worked at, people think they make a fortune, but places like Pontefract on a wet Wednesday evening rarely covered costs let alone made anything, so they cut them down to the main meetings, & obviously hasn't worked since Cheltenham really. Obviously they don't have the casino side to fall back on either.

I got this info from bet365 today:

Horse Racing:

France has been given the green light to resume horse racing and it opened today with a wonderful card at Paris Longchamp, it continues throughout the week with a number of meetings also taking place at the weekend. Some of the highlight races are shown below:

- Saint-Léger des Trotteurs @ Caen on Wednesday

- Prix de La Force et Vanteaux @ Paris Longchamp on Thursday

- Murat Prize and Great Spring Hurdles Race @ Auteuil on Saturday

- Amadou Prize, Léon Rambaud, Jean Stern and President of the Republic @ Auteuil on Sunday – two of these are Group races and will prove very popular with UK fans.

If this means anything to you

So as mainstream horsies start to return, Ladbrokes time it well by pulling their website offline for upgrades. Arf.

Not before 1st June, racing authorities are planning on at least one meeting then but I personally think thats unlikely

I'm quite content with the American racing but I don't get why PaddyPower don't show any stats for the French racing? All they show are the bare bones which is the horse name and its odds for the race which must put a lot of punters off who can't be arsed to look elsewhere for the other details.
I'm also surprised that they are holding meetings all over the place in France rather that having blocks of say 4-5 days at the one venue to limit travel requirements.
