Feeling a bit disappointed with 32 red none festive Christmas cheers this year . No nice cheers or a single snowflake in sight in the download .Just the tournament games . Would have been nice to seen something a bit different from them or some sort of Santa giveaway .Asked in chat and got told they doing nothing this Christmas that was down to the marketing guys

I agree actually. Im a staunch defender of 32Red usually but even I have to admit its a very poor Christmas showing from them this year. I`m sure they have their reasons but it is definitely on the side of bah humbug at the moment.

hi well its me yes i used a number of continues im wondering if its ok to say it in public im a novice in tournament
im giving it a good try becs last 2 tournament have been good to me and im having a nice time recently

but im not too much pushing it because i can see vrm two accounts in top 10 .
and ya have to try to load it around 10 -15 times to run and then it boots

as vinyl said im also playing 125K so the popup is mostly about that

There isn't any grapevine. As I have said, there will be promotions released this week. It isn't just tournaments. Again, apologies for the delay but the technology is taking a little longer than I would have liked.

The tournament loading bug is getting really annoying, sometimes it is impossible to load up a game.
Typical mg 1 step forward 2 steps back, you'd think the insane amount of money they must make they could get some better coders in and rewrite the entire casino client from scratch.

Not for long hopefully, just got one of the two accounts to load

I am having a modicum of success on two elderly Windows XP machines. Windows 7 is having none of it, not even with a clean install of the casino.

I suspect that this could either be a Flash issue, an OS issue, or possibly even an Internet Explorer issue.

I have noticed that despite a complete fresh install, the install process is a little different between an XP and 7 machine. Also, the loading bar is a dotted line on XP, but a solid line on 7. XP uses an earlier version of Flash and IE.

I have tried using version 9 of the Flash player on Windows 7 (loads of error messages, but it still pushes through), but this still doesn't help. I have also found that the error can still occur on XP.


So far, I can ALWAYS get the tournament to load at the first launch attempt after a clean install on an XP machine (but not a 7 laptop), but after that, the XP machines can also refuse to load on subsequent attempts.

I have also noted that if left, a failed load will eventually "load" of it's own accord after several minutes, in that the loading progress bar will show the process has completed, but then it will stall again, and not launch the game itself.

If the pop up IS appearing, there is generally no problem getting into the tournament again and again, even on Windows 7.

The real issue is that the pop up stops appearing, and cannot be made to start appearing again, not even with a clean reinstall.

Preservation of the popup is clearly going to be VERY important when playing a tournament, as it's the only way in at present without a hell of a lot of bother and a generous slice of luck.

For those players who CAN get in, they are up against a reduced field, making it more worthwhile than ever to play. For the casinos and MGS though, the reduced participation could cause considerable losses on these tournaments, and if they react to this by cancelling them mid way, or even 10 minutes after the have ended, they will have angry participants to deal with.

If it were not for this problem, I would be in FIRST place by now, and would probably have concentrated on only one account. I currently pursue both Dash and 32Red because I cannot know which I can get into at any one time, so need to position both as best I can.

In order to break even, 32Red need £10K worth of continues to be bought, and this may not happen.

In the last run, I actually had to use all but 10 of the 999 continues to scrape 1st place, and the player who came second also used all 999.

MGS need to fix this ASAP. It is not confined to 32Red, the same problem is occurring in other MGS casinos.

mcgoldlounge (in 12th place) is me. I used no continues to get there. But I did need to get a free spins round. I chose trailing wilds. And the spin that bumped the score up was stacked wild reel 1, single wild reel 2, double wild reel 3, stacked wild reel 5. That got something like 64,000. The chances of me hitting that again within 1 continue are slim to none. So I am not even bothering to pay for one continue to chase a Top 10 finish. Let the seasoned pissing contest pros do their thing. Count me out.

And I do agree with you re: top 100 instead of top 10. By making it only the Top 10 to get paid, it just basically says to about 80% of the field....stump up a minimum of £50 for continues in the faint hope you get enough points to finish in the Top 10....or hope to bink a total monster hit like 5 stacked wilds on your free entry...or don't bother. It's gone from being a partial pissing contest to an exclusive pissing contest. Only big bankrolls need apply.

I liked the World Cup and Summer Regatta tournies because they were Top 100. It was possible to finish in Top 100 on only your free entry. And even when you didn't score highly enough on your free entry, you could easily get into the Top 100 with the use of 10 continues (which would be break even) or less (which would mean profit). Sure you would have to pay, but you were almost certain to win more than what you spent and usually it was at least double. That option is gone now.

I don't know if changing the tournies from Top 100 to Top 10 getting paid led to an increase in bought continues (maybe Mark can answer that), but the Top 100 would have at least encouraged a few/several dozen people to part with anything from £2.50 to £20 in order to win £25. Now the risk element is greatly increased. And that is going to make it a lot more unattractive for plenty of us.

It is making me think that the cause is a corrupt installation file, but one that is corrupt at the update server end, and is repeatedly being passed to users by "mupdate" as "good". It seems that first entry to a tournament after a clean install works OK, but this then causes the corrupt file problem making subsequent loads of the tournament all but impossible.

There is also a serious "memory leak" in the Santa's Wild Ride game, which steadily slows down during play, whilst the memory taken up by "casinogame.exe" steadily increases. There also seems to be TWO instances of a memory leaking casinogame.exe, along with casinohost, for the ONE tournament tab. The effects of this are SEVERE on my Windows XP machines, where RAM is very limited.

There also seems to be TWO instances of a memory leaking casinogame.exe, along with casinohost, for the ONE tournament tab. The effects of this are SEVERE on my Windows XP machines, where RAM is very limited.

A bit of a derail but the Microgaming software is LONG due for a proper update. And by update I mean pretty much a new client.

The current one has its roots in 2003 and it really shows. Riddled with bugs and crashes - built for operating systems from a past decade. I don't think you can even select with HD to install it on either when you do a fresh install (at least you couldn't a year ago the last time I fresh installed on a computer with multiple HDs). I am very much fearful of updates and the disasters/security flaws they force upon users but in this case, it is required.

That said I have noticed recently on 32red that the "Recommended games" screen no longer appears when you close down a game. Thank goodness for that and thumbs up to 32red for taking that away! I always thought that was the most annoying addition when it was put in place. I doubt it ever did any good for the casinos bottom line but it definitely upped the irritance factor for players.

On topic :

1) Really hoping for some xmas cheer from 32red. I don't feel I "should" get anything but being honest it would be nice to get something back at this time of year (that's not 5 free spins or a "prize draw").

2) Continues that cost money in "free"rolls suck! Anti player and you could argue the original free part is just a small trap. That said, a true freeroll without continues should be appreciated for what it is and has to be viewed as a massive giveback to the players. We don't want to fall into the trap of being unappreciative of player promotions.

No problem here - it loads fine - it slows down after 15 games or so - I just close the casino and reload from 'do you want to play this tournament ' and it works fine.
