hey, Max guy!

you know how some message boards allow you to hide stuff from people that don't want to see it, like spoilers and such, so they have to click on it in order to see it.

can i do that here?

Oh yes, Mr. PotatoHead, you can! ;)

They're called "Spoilers", surprise surprise, and they look like this:

hidden text goes here

That would show as follows in your post:

hidden text goes here

Of course they can be longer too, like this:

Lovely spam, wonderful spa-a-m,
Lovely spam, wonderful S Spam,
Spa-a-a-a-a-a-a-am,
Spa-a-a-a-a-a-a-am,
SPA-A-A-A-A-A-A-AM,
SPA-A-A-A-A-A-A-AM,
LOVELY SPAM, LOVELY SPAM,
LOVELY SPAM, LOVELY SPAM,
LOVELY SPA-A-A-A-AM...
SPA-AM, SPA-AM, SPA-AM, SPA-A-A-AM!

But use them properly, yes? The rules regarding offensive and inappropriate material, copyrighted stuff, etc still applies whether you stick them in a spoiler or not.

Max, maybe you should post a message with all possible scripts (with brief explanation for every), but not to answer for every message like this? :)

The answer for your question is here...

We'll be updating the forum FAQ to reflect all of these.

Not bad :)
Bryan, you always as quick with answer as bullet :notworthy

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I can't figure out how to do this and can't find it in the FAQ section.

Oh Slotmonster, come on out and teach me how to do this please. :)

@cynthia: I'll be writing a section for the FAQ on this stuff this week ... but in the meantime let me take a shot at helping you out.

The stuff you want to appear in the spoiler needs to be surrounded by the
and
tags, just like when you make something bold you surround it with the and tags. So if you wanted to put "Hello world!" in a spoiler you would type something like this:

Hello world!

(you can copy that and paste it into your own post, or PM, if you want to test it.)

Or, of course, you could string it all together like this:

Hello world!

So, here's what that would produce:
Hello world!

The point is that

comes at the beginning of the stuff that will be hidden and
ends it.

Does that help?

PS. the red stuff is stuff that you would type into your post ... you don't need to make it red, I just did that to make it clear what was to be typed.
