Long story short - officially "quit" in March as getting bored with online slots. Gamstopped for 6 months in May due to time issues (not money problems) SE ended in October.
I don't have the space to regale you all with the full horror of trying to get back into the game after the Gamstop time out, but here is a very distilled summary of the casino paranoia:
1. Most Casinos insisting I'm still SE'd and point blank refusing access
2. New casinos (Nektan) refusing sign ups based on "previously Gamstopped" flag
3. Existing accounts that don't participate in Gamstop (Betable) barring even after SE ended - email received "...we are not signed up to Gamstop but we received some information you are self excluded, so you are banned..." (paraphrased). No loss as their sites are slow as a slug anyway.
In short, the only sites to have handled things correctly have been LVBet and Smarkets (excluded during SE, signed back in again no problem after SE finished).
I can totally recommend Gamstop as a means to completely abstain from online, but wanted to get the message out that post-SE is far from plain sailing, for those contemplating a fairly short break rather than a lifetime change....
