Well, I just got look at my bank statement.:eek::eek:

My very very irate wife showed it to me. I have over $300 in charges that i did not make. all mysterious codings that all seem to be from casinos, (as some are familiar as deposits i did make, so not counted in the $300)

there are no longer any online casinos on this, or any other computer I own, until the US gets their shit together and we can play without any worries like this.

I'll still stick around here and remember the days of old, but, no more deposits from me.

good luck y'all. :D

So, you did recognize the descriptors as being known casinos which you frequent, but you deny making those $300 in deposits?

Is it remotely possible that you just lost track of how many deposits you made, or that some of these charges are delayed? It would be easy for either of these things to happen.

You need to compare your casino transactions with your bank statements from the past 6 months. If you still insist you have been overcharged, then you need to request a refund from the casino, and PAB if they refuse.

I know there must be a temptation to chargeback (or"dispute" in case a certain Dr who isn't actually a Dr is reading), but I would advise you to think very carefully.

I admire your decision to give it away until the US situation improves. If I had to pay the outright criminal fees to transact like you guys do, there's no way I'd play either.

yep, i write the shit down.

nope, not a chance in hell.

if you saw the descriptors they use to get the deposits to go through you wouldn't believe it. I could make back to back deposits at the same place on the same day and the descrpitors would be different.

no. no chargebacks coming from me at all...I'm going to let my "feet" do the talking here.

it just has to be. from the giant fees for a withdrawl, the months of "processor pending" tmes, and the getting ripped off...it just isnt worth it anymore.

OK.

Have you requested a refund and/or explanation from the casino/s concerned? Surely you're not going to let $300 slide? What if it is some crime gang milking your account slowly?

I know if it were me I'd want to get to the bottom of it.

Before you go uninstalling casinos... Maybe go into your account and do a print out or print screen save of your deposits and lay it all out with your bank statement.

As Nifty says... if things just don't add up, contact the casino rep and be prepared to send them a copy of that bank statement.

Good luck.

An FWIW, you won't be the only one that hangs around here who doesn't deposit online anymore.

Despite my cat sitting on my keyboard making my post final before I was ready...

I'd like to add a little side note.
My 2 Cents for the day (and I know I am repeating myself, but there are newbies around): I strongly caution USA players against depositing at online casinos using a CC or debit card tied to your primary household account.

like I said, the coding of the withdrawls from my account are so convoluted that no one would be able to figure them out.

I'm not requesting anything from any of them. (hell, withdrawl requests take months around here, how long do you think this will take?) my time is worth more than that.

crime gang won't be milking the account as we've closed it...

Well, it's your call.....but it does seem very odd.

If they were credit card transactions, they can reverse them and you'll have the money in 5-7 days back in your account (or you might get a check given the closure).

I think I'm a bit confused now. You said you recognized the descriptors of the deposits you remember making, and the other ones were from similar or the same descriptors, hence you state they must be casino deposits. However, now you say they "are so convoluted that no one would be able to figure them out.". I don't mean to nitpick, but since you are warning people and posting it publicly I just think it needs to be accurate, thats all.

At the risk of being a broken record....I still don't understand how you could just let $300 fly out the window, given that you state you are very diligent at record keeping and knowing exactly what you spent etc. It doesn't tally that someone who keeps such a close eye on things would just let it slide. I'm pretty sure that, if a poll was taken, the vast majority of people who discovered they were overcharged $300 in deposits would be raising all kinds of hell (and rightly so). Just sayin'.

P.S. Does your wife read the forums at all?

Despite being in the UK, I have seen this before on one of my cards. I had to list my deposits for the past 2 months, and cross check with the debits on the statement. It turned out that as well as being in a different order, a small number of transactions have been delayed for some weeks, and then posted all at once long after I had made the deposits. In the end, everything could be matched up, and nothing was debited that I had not authorised myself in the preceeding 2 months. I have seen this on a small number of other occasions.

If you can identify which casino these late transactions are for, you should check back for earlier deposits that at the time were never debited from your card. Unless the casino is rogue, they should be willing to help you confirm that all is well by providing you with a transaction history.

There is also the possibility of what appears to be duplicate charges that are 'holds', which will eventually fall off. A very royal PITA the whole thing is....

well i would like to say thank you to this post -
i did go and check my statement and i noticed itunes 99-39-10-10-and 29 all on same day (i dont own or never purchased anything at itunes), called up my bank they froze my account and sent me a new card and my money is now back after 2 days ,
what puzzles me is that i only do online casinos(reputable ones) how did this happen? i dont do online purchases just casinos.

Your card could have been cloned, and then used online where fraud is easier. Online, all that is needed are the details printed on the card itself, easy to copy if the card leaves your sight for a moment at a B & M establishment, such as a restaurant.

If stolen from a casino database, not all the information is there, critically the 3 digit CCV code should be missing, and reputable online sites are not supposed to let transactions through without this. Rogue casinos on the other hand, have been known to trick players into handing over the codes by offering to run a failed deposit over the phone, where the player is asked to give this code to the CS rep. Many legitimate companies take payments like this by phone, but they are not normally based in places like Costa Rica or Mars.

thanks vinyl-

but im telling you i only play at accreddited casinos listed here at cm,
is why im confussed of what happened. all i know i will keep a better eye on my statements:)

I had a similar thing happen with my previous prepaid card. I had used my card at a few reputable places and then about a few weeks later. I had seen debits for 0.00 come through, a few other debits for a few dollars come thru. I ended up calling Apple, they offered a full refund on all of the purchases. Then obviously I called my prepaid card issuer and got a new card issued. Seems like a processor is trying to get some free music off of us. I'm not going to blame the casino, because I'm going to safely assume a good casino wouldn't let an employee get away this. I'm going to guess one of the odd processors we've been seeing lately stealing this information.
