Ok, as you guys may have heard before on other threads, I have had to endure 2 separate SoW ordeals at this casino before, the last 2 months ago which was hell to get through and I thank the rep again for helping.

Yes, I get the rules and I warned people how hard it is to satisfy the requirements when you are self-employed like me and do your own accounts.

I made a w/d today after that 1000x Bonanza hit I put in the 1000x screenies thread and Bonanza thread and along with it got an 'affordability check demand'. This time the w/d was paid and I wasn't held over a barrel for it as with the last SoW when I had a 2k one held for several days.

Now I thought the SoW and the reams of my personal bank statements they already hold would tell them I can afford it, but apparently not!

"""In order to create a safe and secure gambling environment and in line with regulations, we are regularly reviewing accounts, taking into consideration any source of wealth you have provided and comparing that to the level of spend on your account.
We also need to take into consideration, your affordability which means looking at your income and any regular expenses that you would need to meet on a monthly basis.
We have reviewed your account and kindly require further information based on this affordability requirement and calculation. We have received source of wealth, however further information is required to evidence further level of affordability.
When calculating affordability, we need to consider the following expenses :
Mortgage/Rental amount per month
Mobile phone bill
Travel expenses
Light & Heat bills
Water bill
Council Tax
Loan/credit card repayments. Have you received a loan in the past 12 months?

Could you please provide us with documents to show that you have available the disposable income required to play with us at this level.
We understand that not all of the liabilities mentioned in the above list may be applicable to you. Please verify the expenses that do apply to you by providing supporting documents that reflect your monthly payments relating to these liabilities. This may be in the form of a copy of a recent bill or bank statement (no more than 3 months old).
Apologies for the nature of these questions, blah blah"""

Well I work from home so have no travel expenses. I have no debts, loans, credit card balances, mortgage is paid off. What the hell is the point of sending more utility bills which they already have from KYC?

90% of my deposits come from recycled withdrawals and so the net loss/spend I make is quite low despite the turnover headline amount, surely they can see this from my pattern of deposits and w/d's?

I can easily provide this info (after all they already know more about me than my own missus, family and friends!) but what will be next? DNA? Weekly jpg of my wallet and/or affiliate account payments? Live video feed of me entering my card at an ATM and displaying the balance on the screen?

I have been playing online for over 10 years and at this point am seriously considering quitting for good, forgoing the entertainment. It seems you cannot strike up a rapport and stick with one favourite casino any more as very quickly you'll turn over enough funds to get SoW and now this equally intrusive 'affordability' crap.

All this is doing is driving players off-license to crap casinos - not me obviously but I'm getting a better understanding of how oppressive this is all getting for the genuine player.

I've had enough.

See what Bryan has to say about this establishment.

Feel your pain mate!

They are sucking the life out of what was once an enjoyable past time.

What if you've been playing since 2003, have no debt and all bills paid and on time, does that not speak louder than any SoW could possibly do?

Understand why they do, but the WAY they do it is beyond awful.

They could simply run a credit check on me to show I have no debts and few expenses.

When we're at the point where casinos are nannying us whilst potentially holding future withdrawals to ransom, you know the industry's got a real problem.

You know why they don't bombard new players on registration with this bollocks? Because they'd run to the nearest casino that didn't dick you around, and verify electronically

I've had enough.

There's no wonder a lot of UK facing casinos ditched UK players, they either risk massive fines or lose their customers anyway with all this SoW stuff.

The SoW is flawed anyway.

Customer A earns 20k a year has 15k in outgoings but dont admit to them all.

Customer B earns 8k a year with no outgoings

Yet Customer B will almost always fail SoW even though they actually have greater expendable income,

If I have won 14.4K in poker winnings CASH this year and dont have any paper proof whatsoever as i'm not obliged to declare it to HMRC then what?

Or win £1000 in an AWP arcade, or £400 at casino very little proof of any of it......

Madness!

Would be interesting to know if they request similar information from players in Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Canada, India and other countries where they are popular, or it's an only specific requirement for players in the UK...

nada here but probably because we dont fall under UKGC

Everyone running scared of UKGC who are now like a runaway train. They have a big department to keep busy so will just keep inventing new rules to keep themselves all in a job until the inevitable exit of almost all UK online casinos( which is clearly already happening). It’s not actually the casinos fault but the UKGC , they are killing the industry.

That is absolutely insane!
Not in 100 million years I would give a casino all this information..Never ever ever...

But hey, then again I am not part of the great UKGC watchdog over here...

Absolutely right in my opinion. Although some casinos will use these rules and regulations to their advantage the majority of these procedures are being put in place to safeguard against the fines.

You can bet your ass that if you said actually i dont pay any of the above, they would then want you to prove it, so you how do you prove you dont pay for something ? LOL its all crackers.

Gamblers are being discriminated against here. There are many situations in life where someone can spend thousands in 1 day without supplying any documents whatsoever.

Will people suspected of having a drink problem, soon have to take SOW docs to the local store to make sure they can afford the next bottle of whiskey? Race goers have to produce docs before they put 5k on a horse?

They should be looking more closely at people who are allowed to take loans from companies that are exploiting their desperation and charging them astronomical interest that will all but break them. I have all but waved goodbye to the industry anyway because I cannot stand the way it is nowadays.

Never. EVER. Deposit. Alot. At. Casumo.
You are asking for trouble if you deposit more than a "normal person" can afford after paying all monthly expenses.

Casumo is like your bank, your mom, your wife and government all togheter x 10.

Exactly, it's just pretentious virtue-signally BS

If you're rich you can blow as much dough as you like, just be sure to do it at our casino!

Yep. I very much doubt it has anything to do with protection of the player and everything to do with being able to turn around and say 'look guv, we're responsible' to the relevant authorities.

Once this bullshit spreads to other licensing jurisdictions, the online gambling industry is as good as finished if all casinos handle the process as Casumo seemingly do. There will be very few players willing to jump through those hoops...and ironically it would probably only be the problem gamblers that would!
