Sure many if not all will agree with this but a casino, which shall remain nameless sent me their latest promo today which I think just sent me over the edge.

50 free spins on deposit. 45x wagering on winnings.

Look, many casinos now do wager free spins. If you aren't going to join them then just do one!

For me, free spins with wagering are the worst type of promo - you can't know in advance what the wagering will be (as with a deposit bonus) and you can't think you might get a decent win even if you bust out from your deposit.

You end up playing them hoping for a small win which you can convert to playing funds which then produce a bigger win.

Its perverse that this is the only time when playing slots you hope NOT to get a big win.

I for one am putting these casinos on notice - unless you raise your game, my money will go exclusively to those which offer wager free spins. I urge you to do the same - voting with our feet will bring about change.

In my opinion free spins WITH wagering requirements can be very much attractive. It's a little bit like an insurance if I lose my deposit. If everything goes well I cashout (without having the free spins used) and I am happy. If I lose my deposit I use the free spins for additional playtime.

I consider free spins (with or without WR) as one of the more attractive promotions. But that's just my opinion.

And what is the problem here? I made a few withdrawals from free spins with wagering, I'm sure many others did too. If you don't like a specific promo, don't use it. I find many free spin offers are good enough for me despite the wagering, while many wager-free casinos seem to be giving small numbers of free spins on big deposits, which often amount to nothing. To each his own :)

I have to agree with the OP, any free spins should be either wager free or have a minimal WR, maybe x 5. What happens if you hit a big win on a free spin, and you have huge WR? I know I get emails regularly from certain sites that have deposit related free spins, but I never take them as the WR is x 60, and to me thats not a good deal.

1st of there are not exactly free if you have to deposit

2nd is free spins should be that, Not wager attached

I can see where hedgehok is coming from here about extra play, If you was going to deposit than yes it is extra, But there was a thread a good while back about butlers bingo and there free spins, People stated that play with cash if win take out than use your free spins, Well this did not go down to well with the rep, Also the wager is 30x but its rubbish as max count is slots and only 50% count so its really 60x bonus

There some sites that offer you 20 free spins on 20 -50 (or simular) depo and think thats not worth it, But there wager free and if your going to deposit any way than its a great bonus,

To me if you see free spin than thats what it should be, Other wise it should be called free spin bonus,

Today I received email of laddys saying every £20 spent gets you 1 spin, Yes you heard me 1 spin lol, I do not even no if that comes with a wager

Raise the stakes proportionately to the amount? Suppose you win 10 euro and start spinning for 0,50. If you win 100 euro, just spin for 5 euro :p I know there are usually restrictions on max. bet if playing with bonus, but free spins, being on the lowest possible coin, probably won't give you so much as to make them count. Though I can see how getting a 5-reel shitstorm on free spins could be annoying :D

Just to clarify - of course I would love all free spins to be wagering free, or have very low WR. But I'm also happy with many casinos that give a good amount of spins on a small deposit - I'd often prefer that than getting, say, 5 or 10 spins without wagering.

I'd never deposit in order to get freespins, but I take them if I'm depositing anyways.

There's no incentive to 'buy' them. The value of the spins usually works out at about 5-10% of the deposit needed to get them.
So it's basically just a REALLY poor deposit bonus.

But if freespins are given FREE, then I play them every time. I've cashed out many times, from the few pence that 5-10 FREE freespins have generated. Including 3x wildline bonus rounds and a 5 scatter on DOA, all from less than £1 won on some other game from freespins

Why specifically with wagering? Surely without you have exactly the same opportunity for play time if you win with them?

All wagering does is limit your choice as to when to withdraw?

I can't see any player benefit to wagering on free spins at all.

I'm sure we'd all love 100FS wager free for a 35 deposit every day :p

Problem is they can cost the casinos a fortune so WR can allow a casino to maybe make more attractive offers to players. Though I do think wagering could be drastically lowered to give us a fighting chance (say 10-15x)

30 FS Wager free OR 100 FS with 15x WR???

I know for sure which I'd choose every time

Talking only about no deposit free-spins for new players:
Some casino programs will pay affiliates at least €50 just for bringing in a new player who makes a deposit...
But if they offer say 50 spins on StarBurst (and you have to deposit in order to cash-out your winnings) it's only costing them €5!
So to me it makes no sense at all that they ask for wagering on the winnings - they are already getting a new depositor "on the cheap"!

I regard the free spins as a means to an end.

I see little point in getting excited over the fact that I've received wager-free spins as mostly they are in single digit figures. Nor am I likely to start doing cartwheels from the euphoria of getting 5 wager free spins. This seems to be the trend amongst many casinos and we're expected to eternally grateful for the fact that they are wager- free. Someone crack out the champagne.

Fact is, nobody is ever going to cash out from these outright or build up a workable balance to have any sort of session.

Now if there are places you can get 30 - 50 wager free spins regularly, I will applaud that. I have not seen it myself.

Far better are the 'free' spins that with wagering attached as they are often more plentiful and are just a precursor to a bonus. Half the fun is hoping to attain as many bonus funds as possible within the parameters set out via these spins. I'm looking to have a session out of it and am in it for the long run.

Don't really see what my £0.74 in wager free winnings is likely to achieve, other than another wretched DOA 7- spin wonder.

Just take the FS, and if you don't win a lot, simply get in touch with CS and have them delete the "promotion" money/requirements from your account and accept the SUB if that's more attractive...no biggie.

The point being that I've won several times from the proceeds of a few free spins. I don't mean from a deposit and winning when you're balance is nearly gone. But actually from that '74p' you mentioned. SO take ANY freebies, because you never know....

Another example was 5 free spins on startburst from Leo Vegas (who'd actually bother even loading the website to take them??). I won just over £1 from them (if i remember correctly) played that on DOA, and dropped 5 scatters within a few spins

Thanks for your input. You've to see two sides of the same coin. It's better without WR indeed. However why should an operator give you free-money (wager-free freespins) just for depositing? They either get hammered or they implement another term like "wager your deposit at least 5 times" another kind of WR. Something similar was implemented by Thrills with their €1.5 spins.

    You can't have it all.

I had some of my best wins on freebies, Take the other month when the IPS sites said they giving away 5k to players, after working it out thats about £400 per site, I checked about 7 sites I signed up to and 2 had a bonus of £2 I managed a withdraw of one for £85 I think,

It only takes one spin, But even when deposit with no bonus its hard to even double money, So take into acount the wager on spins, wager on deposits, it does not even go in players favour,

Like I said when get an email about say, depo 50 get 30 spins you think its a joke, But infact its a good deal for any person that deposits that and has no wager, To me 50 is steap in one go but for others to get them for nothing if going to depo any way than its a craking deal, 30 free spins on twin spin for a deposit on 50, with no wager, It does not look good for people that deposit only 10-20 and feel abit outed as bigger spenders fell no way to deposit over 50 and they get free spins for FREE

In fact: If you have this "DOA 7-spin wonder" you don't need to bother about a 30 quid WR, aren't you ?

I'm the first to acknowledge the importance of never ignoring free spins, because like others here, I have turned tiny amounts into sizeable cashouts.

Earlier today I took 5 free spins at LV, got about £1, alternated between games and got up to £10 and then proceeded to bust. It's pretty much about giving yourself a window to hit early. On a few occasions the £1 or £2 has turned into several hundred, often via DOA.

Yet why does it matter if I receive those 5 free spins wager free though? I thought that's what this thread was about. They may as well have been 5 free spins with wagering.

Barring an early miracle to prolong a session I'm not likely to garner anything from such a small set of wager free spins, certainly not enough to cash out. So even though I know it can happen, I'd much prefer to have 50 spins with reasonable wagering attached as I prefer to have a session, not a hit and hope.

My best return to this day is still £1200 from a £4 freebie. I'm sure many others here have attained similar or probably better amounts. So I have always maintained that no free spins should be scoffed at.

But regardless, I will say your DOA escapades are pretty impressive and what makes gambling so fun in the first place
