Sure many if not all will agree with this but a casino, which shall remain nameless sent me their latest promo today which I think just sent me over the edge.

Look, many casinos now do wager free spins. If you aren't going to join them then just do one!

For me, free spins with wagering are the worst type of promo - you can't know in advance what the wagering will be (as with a deposit bonus) and you can't think you might get a decent win even if you bust out from your deposit.

You end up playing them hoping for a small win which you can convert to playing funds which then produce a bigger win.

Its perverse that this is the only time when playing slots you hope NOT to get a big win.

I for one am putting these casinos on notice - unless you raise your game, my money will go exclusively to those which offer wager free spins. I urge you to do the same - voting with our feet will bring about change.

I find many free spin offers are good enough for me despite the wagering, while many wager-free casinos seem to be giving small numbers of free spins on big deposits, which often amount to nothing. I have to agree with the OP, any free spins should be either wager free or have a minimal WR, maybe x 5. What happens if you hit a big win on a free spin,and you have huge WR? I know I get emails regularly from certain sites that have deposit related free spins,but I never take them as the WR is x 60, and to me thats not a good deal.

Raise the stakes proportionately to the amount? Suppose you win 10 euro and start spinning for 0,50. If you win 100 euro, just spin for 5 euro I know there are usually restrictions on max. bet if playing with bonus, but free spins, being on the lowest possible coin, probably won't give you so much as to make them count. Though I can see how getting a 5-reel shitstorm on free spins could be annoying

Just to clarify - of course I would love all free spins to be wagering free, or have very low WR. But I'm also happy with many casinos that give a good amount of spins on a small deposit - I'd often prefer that than getting, say, 5 or 10 spins without wagering.

There's no incentive to 'buy' them. The value of the spins usually works out at about 5-10% of the deposit needed to get them.
So it's basically just a REALLY poor deposit bonus.

But if freespins are given FREE, then I play them every time. I've cashed out many times, from the few pence that 5-10 FREE freespins have generated. Including 3x wildline bonus rounds and a 5 scatter on DOA, all from less than £1 won on some other game from freespins

I regard the free spins as a means to an end.

I see little point in getting excited over the fact that I've received wager-free spins as mostly they are in single digit figures. Nor am I likely to start doing cartwheels from the euphoria of getting 5 wager free spins. This seems to be the trend amongst many casinos and we're expected to eternally grateful for the fact that they are wager- free. Someone crack out the champagne.

Thanks for your input. You've to see two sides of the same coin. It's better without WR indeed. However why should an operator give you free-money (wager-free freespins) just for depositing? They either get hammered or they implement another term like "wager your deposit at least 5 times" another kind of WR. Something similar was implemented by Thrills with their €1.5 spins.

I'm the first to acknowledge the importance of never ignoring free spins, because like others here, I have turned tiny amounts into sizeable cashouts.

Earlier today I took 5 free spins at LV, got about £1, alternated between games and got up to £10 and then proceeded to bust. It's pretty much about giving yourself a window to hit early. On a few occasions the £1 or £2 has turned into several hundred, often via DOA.

Yet why does it matter if I receive those 5 free spins wager free though? I thought that's what this thread was about. They may as well have been 5 free spins with wagering.

Totally agree with you. I get emails sometimes twice a day from the same casino promising 100 free spins on deposits.
