hey bryan, hello....i just wanted to say that it seems to me (i know i'm just a newb here ) that you have a couple of people that could use some time away from here cuz it appears that they are gonna burst a blood vessel someday soon....adult discussions should be able to be made and people should even disagree with each other in more ppositive ways without resorting to cursing at others or calling people names just because they don't see eye to eye on matters....and anyone that feels like they gotta be the voice of the software companies and be quick to defend them at the first sign of a negative remark or anyone thats gotta keep putting them down over and over really need to settle down and grow up...i'm sorry if this post seems like i'm a tattle tale or i'm crying, it most definatly is not that it's just someone who has been on the wrong side of personal attacks in my short time here and who's tired of seeing it every day, over and over....anyways i know you'll do whatever you feel neccesary and i'll trust in that:thumbsup:

    Noted. Thanks!

When these occur, it's unfortunate. We are all adults and it's too bad that some of us lose it from time to time. But that's life.

Also, you can always use the "Report a Post" feature if you wnat to bring a thread to a moderator's attention.

Every forum has its disagreements and in the world of gambling, people will come from all walks of life so you will end up with a real mix - probably more so than on many other more specialist forums. Then of course you have issues caused in translation, hidden agendas, all sorts...and on forums you don't know who you are dealing with either: I've seen many people admit to drink problems for example both here and on previous forums I've moderated. And let's not forget, gambling can trigger negative enzymes at times!!

The "sabaticals" are a good way of dealing with most...some longer than others...but I hope that the majority of posters here, and the way they post, will have a positive effect on those who tend to be a little OTT at times.

I think debate is good, even argument has a place, but personal insults and confrontational posts are where the bannings come in. We've seen it many times and most of those people thankfully are long gone to other outposts, but there are always more to fill their boots. Let people like that hang around for long and other posters will start to dry up. Few people like participating on confrontational boards.

I am actually of the mindset that anyone who causes constant ructions - by which I mean insulting people or being rude - should be banned outright. Who cares if they wander off and whine elsewhere about censorship. Few will follow them and it leaves the way clear here for sensible discussion. And there's nothing worse than someone soapboxing by being rude and insulting just to try and get noticed IMO.

Many of the problems are caused accidentally. On anonymous boards it's easy to be misinterpreted and even easier to be blas about writing. If more posters read back their posts as if it had been written to them, there would be far less confrontations.

 Sometimes I can't either. I find the Ignore function (in the User CP) comes in handy at times. It's not a permanent thing. I turn it off every now and then and if that member's posts still rub me the wrong way, I put them back on Ignore. Keeps me from mouthing off and getting myself in hot water. (Boiled mouse is not a good thing.)

We are not all going to agree on all things. We are not lemmings. Arguments and disagreements will occur. Personalities clash. Add to the usual forum mix that these are volatile times in the industry and for players -- tempers often flare out of frustration, overreaction, and misunderstanding.

At any rate, like Bryan and Simmo! said... report abusive posts and spam. And I add... find that Ignore function and make it your friend. ;)

This is place is for discussion and members will agree/disagree naturally.

The key is to be civil, maintain respect for yourself and for your fellow members.

At the end of the day, we all want a better Casino experience - that should be in everyone's mind when in CM

    LOL, thank you cynthial.
After reading this post, I was just sitting here thinking how NOTHING in this world is perfect and never will be. People aren't perfect either.
You just proved one of them things :p

Simmo has it absolutely right imo, and like Mousey I think the 'ignore' function judiciously used is a wonderful forum tool on occasion!

I'd like to know who's ignoring me. Is there a reverse-ignore lookup feature?

If someone is ignoring me, I would like to throw Nerf balls at them until they acknowledge me. :D

Yip: Ignore feature in the User Control Panel and 'Report Post' are much under-utilized tools.
