A little intro to my tread:
Started out as a NetEnt "gamer" and had some good fun and value for my money. After i got introduced to this forum, i noticed the microgaming slots was a solid gameprovider in online casinos. Got bitten by the "IR" bug pretty fast, and have invested quite a lot of money in that game. But i havent seen any winnings above lets say x200. So, im my final attemt to stay true to this game, i need some advice and tips...

Now, my question to you experts out there regarding Immortal Romance:
How often do you get more than 1 or 2 hit on Wild Desire? (would extimate i get 3 reels 20% on WD, never gotten 4 reels as i can remember)
What bonus feature have give you the best payout? (I always choose Sarah, after getting there)

As i said, am about to give up this game, so i just thought id try to get some advice before i give up the Romance

Hard to give you any advice, as you press spin and hope the best You cannot influence anything. IR is just some high variance biaatch

I myself also never had any more than 3 wilds in wd ;( But i had some good features that paid up 500x Mostly i chose Sarah or troy.

Anyway, you ahve to consider when playing these high variance mg 243way slots (same with Thunderstruck 2, playboy etc) they can be brutal.

My best advice for you would be switch games, dont only play one game, if you only play high variance slots you will see your balance vanish in a second very often. Mix your gameplay and be there on the right time to hit on ir

Give it a few spins, if it´s dead, move on, and so on... pay it a visit later when you increased your balance on other games.

If you like IR give playboy a shot, one of my favs but the same naughty variance as ir.

I think so many people are lured in by IR because of its graphics, they just programmed the right game. I like it too, but as i started gambling there was no ir nor any 243 way slots, so i have some old favourites which never let me down. One would be the hellboy slot, had very! good runs on that game.

Will do my best to help, but as other threads have suggested lately Sarah and Co have become very true to their vampire nature, these guys tend to suck balances rather than blood lately.

I have been playing the game since its release and have all characters 'unlocked' on various casinos/sites so as you can imagine, no exaggeration I've done millions of spins.

Based on averages and experiences I can advise the following (all personal experiences and not recommendations lol)

* Amber BR is useless unless you select it EVERY feature OR are VERY lucky
* Troy SEEMS to be the fairest but again lately is RUBBISH
* Michael I choose rarely, one line up (where it sits at 5x until 'Big Win' )
* Sarah has to be the most frustrating EVER, rare you see Vine and 99/100 goes right for useless wilds

* 3 reel Wild Desire 2 all year about 20 lifetime ( 5 or 6 of which were 'busted')
* 4 reel Wild Desire 2 lifetime

March onwards this year it has been evil but below are some of the hits it is (was ) capable of











With the exception of the top picture, all were minimum (0.30p) bets so IMO unless your a 'big hitter' then you don't need large bet sizes for decent returns.

Do characters include 5 wilds in the base game? Thats the only thing i never had. edit: Forget about that. You were talking about unlocking the bonus games.

15% Troy
5% Sarah
0% Michael ( i HATE Rolling Reels )

Love that game but it hates me in the last 6 months.

I never choose Michael, got some bad payouts the first times i tried that feature. Stick to Sarah almost all the time after i reach her. 25 FS pluss the FS you get on 2+ scatter.

I only go for amber when im drunk, if i got em all rarely paid out well..

Any of you made any logic about the wild-vines, they thend to go on reel 2 and 4 when i have a 2coin bet or higher when its on. Is it only me?!

I found regardless of bet size wild wine feels at home on reels 3 and 5 only and rarely visits any other reels.

In my zillions of spins across 15-20 casinos over the years not ONE of my paytables is 100% complete, yes I have gold when it comes to selecting your bonus round but most, if not all are missing either the 5 scatters (never had) or the 5 wilds (had once!)

I only completed the 'Michael' achievement this year at 32 Red and I play there the most!

When I did get the 5 x 'IR' symbol I was gutted as the win was drastically reduced as there were the feature trigger there too which paid peanuts.

We all know that the wild symbols have a 'Sarah' in close proximity, I'd have much preferred her to the scatters that day

I got my best 2 wins on IR on Amber,both 1000x + stake on €1.50 bets.
The other features have not paid me more then maybe 100x stake once in a blue moon.
The wild vine feature indeed is rotten,never ever won anything on that.
Always giving useless wilds with no wins.

Best Wild Desire sofar is 3 wilds,reels 2,3,5 if I remember correctly.Paid about 300x stake or so...

Still love IR but don't play it as often anymore as there is so many new slots I also like.

Hellboy, its new to me. Have to try that one out. Any tips on whatever feature i will meet there?

You will meet the randomly triggered "Supermode" which has sticky wilds and can pay very big and a decent bonus "collect" feature. But also in the basegame i had very good 5OAK hits on regular basis. Hit 3 times 5 hellboys with a wild already, also once in supermode. Pays pretty decent 500x

This slot can be both nasty and beautiful depending on it's mood. I pick the Amber feature 95% of the time and Troy and Michael 2.5% of the time each. I have played all the features and most other than Amber pays crap so that is why I stick with her. Wild Desire I got 3 reels maybe 10 times but only 2 paid decent the other 8 either paid little or 0. What I wouldn't give to get a 4 reel Wild Desire (sigh). OK....first up. Without doubt, the one game that has been consistently kind to me (even during my horrible losing streak) was IR.

Personally, I think you are making a grave error placing all your eggs in Sarah's basket. I do know what it's like to win big on the Sarah feature
(pics shown below), but it has happened quite literally only that one time. While being persistent with picking Sarah gives you a better chance of finally nailing one for a big hit, I just find it to be a strategy that ends up putting you in a hole and then keeping you there.

In my opinion, Troy is by far the most consistent feature. Although, it's worth noting that it is also very capable of giving you 15 dead spins (I've had this happen at least 4 times).

Michael's feature is very tough to get a win of 100x bet on. But, it is capable of doing an awesome drop of 3 wilds on Reels 1, 2 and 3. And it usually happens at the 4x or 5x stage. But it's VERY hard to get. I've only managed it once and only seen one person here post such a win.

Amber's feature is very much an all or nothing affair. Chances are you either win less than 20x bet or over 100x bet. Wins between 20 and 100x bet seem to be quite rare. More than capable of giving 10 dead spins, but capable of doing a double, even a triple re-trigger. This one probably gives you your best shot at winning 1000x.

Generally, when I get a feature, I automatically go to Troy first. To try and get an early banker on the board. If that works out, I then have the choice to go for other features. Or going with Troy again to try and build on my advantage.

I'll tell you my selection stats from my last IR session. I had 21 bonus rounds. I picked Troy 15 times, Amber 4 times, Michael once and Sarah once.
I only picked Michael and Sarah after I had cleared the WR on my bonus and was guaranteed a cashout. And I ended up getting a better than average win of around 60x bet on Michael and 35x on Sarah.

Apologies for the length of the post, but I suspect you love this game as much as I do.

PS Bet was 30p, so that's a win of 650x bet in the first pic and 676x bet (the total for that round) in the second

I have played A LOT of IR over the last years, think I have had ap. 10 wild desires w. 4 wilds (range of ap. 800-3000xbet as far as I remember)

As for the freespin features:
Troy and Sarah will at a good round give me wins at the 100, 200, 300 and very rarely 500x level - but Sarah seems to have more bad rounds and troy (although i have gotten 0x from Troy once )
Michael: I would advice to skip it, I do play it relatively often, but mostly regret it - it CAN however go high, just really frustrating to try to hit it.
Amber: this is my love/hate relationship - as others have mentioned, it is kind of "all or nothing" but a 5oak with a few wilds at 5x pays BIG - and retrigger is not to rare (max. i had was 3 or 4) - however, I only try amber if I feel i can "afford" getting a 0-15x win.

Troy is definitely my "go to feature" - I think it accounts for at least 50% of my feature choice.
And It is always (99%) the first feature I pick in a session.

In the end though, my really large cashouts are almost exclusively from four wheel wild desires.

Quite surprised that so "many" mention fs wins of 1000x+ - I have never had one (have had >900 twice though) Also friend of mine hit 1100x+ on Troy

Oh, and as frustrating as IR can be, it can also be really nice - look at those stats for 1 hour of VERY entertaining gambling
Deposit: 400dkr, betsize 6dkr, cashout after one hour 9.000dkr
(yeah, its in Danish, sorry - but quess most people know the layout well enough to understand)

Interesting that experiences differ, but generally have one theme in common, that it can be brutal! I guess that's what you get with high variance slots like this.

I've been playing IR for over 2 years now at 5 or 6 accredited casinos and have had some good runs, but recently it's been very poor at all the sites I play at. Compared to many I bet relatively high at £1.50 per spin and therefore barren runs can be expensive (over £1000 down over the last 14 days)

In all my time of playing and hundreds of thousands of spins I've not completed the achievements board at any casino. I've never had 5 wilds, 5 scatters or 5 Michaels (without a wild) and virtually without exception are the 3 achievements I need to complete the boards!

As for Wild Desires, I've never had 4, but have had a few 3's. Frustratingly well over half of the times I've had 3 WD's they've been on the last 3 reels with no win!

The above is probably a function of my relatively high bet size and using various casinos. Do people think it's better to stick to 1 or 2 sites??

Regarding feature choice I used to stick to Michael as you'll usually get something and I've had some good wins from it, but recently I've gone for Sarah, whilst can be very frustrating has given some good wins. Like everyone says Amber is all or nothing, but overall the worst for me is Troy with many less than 5x wins and many zero wins too, which differs from others experiences.
The common consensus is that it doesn't matter what feature you chose as it all evens out in the end, but it's clear that the variance is different depending upon which character you choose.

I don't know if this helps the OP, but this is my experience.

I would not agree with that at all. 4 reel Wild Desires do not pay THAT much.

For example, on a 60p spin, many 4 reel WDs would not even land you a win of 1500x bet (£900). That sum could easily
be lost within 3 months, let alone the 3 and a half years that IR has been out.

It wouldn't even shock me if there were people out there who had managed a 5 reel WD and were still in the red on IR.

Good luck getting someone who has managed such an unenviable achievement to admit that though....

love IR i played it a lot and im sure im way way way up on this slot ...

had 4 reel wilds 5 times ... (last being 2 days ago ) and 3 bet X1000 win other than that 2 in amber feature (sarah and wild) and one in troy feature (4wild +1 3x wild)
and got all the achievement except 5 wilds ....

the things elude me in IR

1) 5 reel wild desire

2) 5 Ir wilds in base or amber free spins

3) 5 scatter in Amber (got 4 once)

as im so lucky at ir i never play it in minimum bet i always play it .90 never less even when my bal is 10

and i even cashed out hitting a bonus round in that balance and cashed out

i dont play the clones though just an IR fan and i play it in download casino only

when it gave a wild desire there is a small pause in quickfire there is that pause on every spin and you will think you are winning a WD every time cant bear that

I'm probably one of the very few who are on the black in this game. That's because I stopped playing it, too, pretty much straight after I got a 4 WD spin. At 60c it paid almost 900 and by that point I was fed up with this slot. Infact, I only played it because a reputable casino offered perks to play it

Besides that WD win, I think I had only a few winning sessions, and I don't even remember a session where I had a 200x win. I usually don't even have too optimistic goals either, if I deposit anything between 0-50 I'll be happy to leave with 100. With this, I won a few times, I sometimes broke even, and lost really often, and thus I decided to quit. Didn't even think of playing it if it wasn't for that casino offer, because in all honesty I had thousands upon thousands upon thousands of spins in this with little to no results.

I kind of started playing this like you did, I still mostly play netent but started playing this. I don't think you can underestimate the variance in this, it is extremely BRUTAL. I guess there's nothing like scoring 900 with 60c, or scoring 2000 with 90c on DOA, but I think one really needs to understand that it's going to be a straight out losing proposition most of the time when dealing with these high variance games.
