Well... each one of these is a little piece of my soul... but I got at least a dozen more in me for I croak, and you know I can't wait to show you guys. Actually, I don't think I'd still be doing it if no one around here cared ;)

I know I said I'd show everyone something new last month, but life's got a funny way of getting funny. Ran outta money, dad's doing radiation, had to take some bad jobs I didn't want. But I've been up all night, most nights, and it ain't like I have regular hobbies like most people. So well... here goes. A completely new game, not based on anything else. I'd like to hear what you think. Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out how to raise the cash to launch my site, so for now it's all just fun. But who knows, maybe I can finally sell this one.

Anyway, this here's different... The whole thing came to me while I was pretty drunk, talking in a bar with my girlfriend about the Mayan calendar and all that end of the world stuff. And I'd been thinking about changing how slots work. Like, how could more than one person could play a slot machine at the same time? And I realized you could have them share the reels. Or, the reels go around a table. So it all got together. But what is it? I can't decide if I should call it Mayan Gold, or 2012, or something else. But here it is... video's a little choppy 'cause I recorded it on my laptop, but the play is smooth.

Anyway, it can take ten players, starts at a 5.5% house edge and drops to about 2.75% if you play it right. 20% of all seat bets go into the table's pot, and that's paid off in a jackpot on triple tens or better.

My dream now is to build a full size one of these and get it into a Vegas casino... how cool would that be

Thanks to everyone here who kept me going. I'm already thinking about the next crazy game...

I checked out the slot (or whatever you name it) and it runs very smoothly as usual.
Just some things i ran into:

- It takes a while to understand the game and it's possibilities. I've just been betting until i found out what i was actually doing :D

- You should show the winnings without them disappearing so fast. When i wanted to look at the payout after a game it was gone already and there was no way to retrieve it.

- Repeat button !

- It's nothing like i've ever seen. Very original!

I'll keep checking for more, but i think this is the best game you've created (and showed us) yet.

Good point. I've been trying to figure out a way to show the history in a way that makes sense for each player, because everybody gets a lot of different combinations, and it's hard to read through them if you see them in text form... I have to come up with something. But maybe a first step is slowing down the paybacks, so you can see the cash you're winning a little more clearly. Or breaking it down by winning combination, because right now, multiple wins in the same seat are all added to the same stack when it comes back. It definitely takes a little time to get the hang of reading the mayan number system for the combos, but I can say this is the first game I wrote that I'm actually now addicted to myself...once you get used to reading the numbers it gets more fun...there are also some strategies I figured out as I wrote it...turns out you can tilt the odds toward you if you do it a certain way.

It also turns out, or I wouldn't be surprised, if the Mayans were actually using their calendar as a gambling system. Weird numbers showed up in the odds for this game... a lot of primes, 7's and 13's...it was really fun to dive into it...

Repeat button !
Yup! ALL machines and table games have it now, except for Craps because there wasn't a great way to make it do what I'd want it to do in a lot of situations (like, repeat the pass line and the place numbers and hardways, but not the field or something...that was one game I thought probably people want to manage more closely). Anyway, thanks for the good advice, it inspired me to get it done.

you might want to show this to 3dice as the other casinos use the same software with no deviation like mcg, playtech, etc. you could also show it to Bodog who develops or add new software...goodluck!

Looks very nice, however, I didn't understand what should I do and on what to bet.

And I think you need to add some background music for casino.

I'm kinda mixed about background music. One of my priorities with the software is to keep the load times really, really short. So right now, all games fit in about 550kb, and just a few things (like this one and roulette) load up extra graphics. I don't want anything to slow the site down...and I know for me, I'd rather listen to my own music than anything a casino's playing. But it's a thought.

looks interesting. Is there a link to get to the game? would love to have a look.

The demo software is at strikesapphire.com. Check it out. No real-money games :eek2:

like repro and the monster... I was a little confused at first, but LOVE the look and idea.

Top work Mr Strike. Well done.

If you wanted to play with the idea and move away from the mayan thing... how about splitting it into legs, body, head and hat of people. (Inspired by a bedtime book my nephew loved)

If you get the cowboy boots on the nuns legs with the spacemans body and the fireman hat, you get nothing... but if the boots and hat match.... or if you get a full entire 'costume' ... Am I making sense? At least that way, at a glance you will see what you won plus a bit of a childish giggle or two.

the side bets could be on certain costumes appearing 'whole' in any slot. You could have multiple cowboy parts but only one set of spaceman bits..... god I hope this makes as much sense to the people reading it.....

Thanks for the props! I see you on the site right now, btw.

Your idea makes total sense to me. It might change the math a little...if you had to get two boots to one hat, for example. The odds right now are how they are because of the second reel only going to 13 and then back to 7.

I'd really like to tweak this, play with it more and come up with new variations on it. Maybe it'll turn into a franchise one of these days :D

It looks highly interesting. Personally I could see it on a bingo type site like JackpotJoy who have a huge amount of players.

It is fun and now and you need to tap into a big market with it.

Beautiful work JStrike! I remember the first slot you unveiled at CM
with the lightning.

What else are you working on?

I like witches and warlocks type slot themes and Deal or No Deal
type slots as well.

Thanks! As far as what's next... it's a secret, but you guys will be the first to see it :D
It's a totally different twist on slots than this one is, but equally far out there. I'm still tweaking things with Mayan Gold, so it might be awhile -- plus, the math for the new one is really, really intense, actually. I think I'm going to need a degree in physics to get it right. But it'll be easy and fun to play if I can manage it ;)

++ I love the suggestion about different themes for the Mayan style game, so that might be in the works one of these days!

Nice! I'm really glad to see people enjoying it...it's the best part of designing something like this. Just wait til it's for real money...that's gonna be fun to watch =)

Again! This time i got the full jackpot.
Good thing it's just playmoney, because i wager waaaaaaaay too much :D

Repro -- $997.54 hitting trip 11's on a $5 spin... congratulations!! If we were only up and running...*sigh.

It looks like your current RTP on the game is 88.39% (we don't show that on the site for play cash, but the info's there so I looked it up). While that's not terrible for a slot, this game is really supposed to average from 93.5% to 97.5% over time depending on the betting strategy. The wilds make the math really complicated when trying to figure out the pluses and minuses of different strategies, but I've simulated a few out to about 3 million spins. You're not outside the standard deviation, but you're on the low end of what I was expecting to see. And you've played it more than anybody now, except for me. So I'm curious what your betting strategy is on it? If you don't mind sharing :D I'd like your help to fine tune it so we're paying as good of an RTP as we can. I noticed you're sitting in three seats...and there's a trade-off with that because in three seats, the payouts get better for the sidebar, but worse for the main wheel. In one seat, the payouts on the main wheel can be staggering, but the sidebar suffers a little bit. So it's all about optimizing for the way you play. One of the weird things I realized after designing this game is that if you can sit in the 1st, 5th and 8th positions at the table at the same time, you can get a EV of +15-20% on sidebar bets. Because there are two 7's on the middle wheel, so if you sit that way you end up either catching both 7's, or not catching any. Which is statistically the same as if there was only one 7 on the middle wheel...it's like betting on black in roulette if you stuffed cotton into both zeros and a third of the red numbers on the wheel. That's why the rule is that seats have to be continuous next to each other.

Indeed i found out very soon that the seats should be next to each other.

I've got a VERY complicated strategy which i'll try to explain. If you don't understand it please tell me than i'll try to be clearer:

a. I sit down on 3 seats next to each other
b. I bet the max $5 on all seats and all sidebets
c. I repeat the bet
d. When i bust out i reset the playmoney

Aha! The greed system. Always works!
When we're up and running, the progressives on each $5 table should be averaging about $1200 and being paid off every couple hours. It's a very volatile game, lots more than any of the other games so far (except Ultrakeno, if you set it up right can give you a 95% RTP with payouts up to $2k). It's an interesting problem, trying to figure out how to pay frequently and also pay big sometimes... so maybe I hit it right with this one.

Just a tip for your all-out war strategy...try it with two seats instead of three and see what happens. You should pick up about a 3-4% better chance of winning, but it hasn't even been tested out much...it could be more than that...so you'll be a pioneer.

Man I wish we could have these games for real...

@Jstrike
Have you thought about contacting Dogboy(RTG Developer) or Enzo(3Dice developer{I Think?})?:D
Perhaps you could sell the game on to them? Or Licence the game?
Make a nice bit of cash and then have the funds to start sapphire up fully!

I so want to see you succeed in your endeavours!

Everyone her at CM has seen how much work has gone in to your casino and the talent you have for software, etc...:notworthy

It would be so nice to see your dream realised!:D

Cheers
Gremmy

Afterthought: All your software/ideas/games are copyrighted/Trademarked, etc... Right? I really would hate to see your hard work ripped off by someone unscrupulous. I'd assumed you were protected in some way or you wouldn't have released the games publicly? :)
