compt from one casino to another

I have often wondered that, not Mohegan Sun of course, because I get these freebies to Vegas for alot of different casinos.

I always figured they either were owned by the same folks or they had an agreement to run certain promos.

I know Ameristar here in Iowa, just teamed up with MGM Entertainment to offer me comps, rewards, and player level experiences in Vegas. All I have to do is tell my VIP host I'm traveling to Vegas. Then they'll tell the MLife program, what level I'm at, my level of play, and supposedly I'll get my same level of comps when I'm at any M Life resort.
I'm almost pretty sure this is Vegas's way of trying to attract new blood especially for those who like to only play local versus abroad.
