also max any ideas of how i go about getting a response from redkings and primepoker? all 3 of these accounts have been blocked because they are on the same network, i have asked brandon to see if he can deal with all 3 but i doubt if he can.do i just wait and see what happens with this 1 and then persue the others? thanksfor your time.

Yes, I'm thinking one at a time is the best approach for the time being. If we can get action on CnR then perhaps we can use that to leverage the other two. I'll get things set up -- contact info and the like -- on those two so we can move forward with them when we're ready.

Again, as a non-poker player, why is the player having such problems making any progress on this. Even with your intervention, and the help of others, this seems likely to be going to take forever.
How could the player have avoided these problems?
Did the player do something wrong, or is this a "snowball effect" from changes within the industry with one skin being taken over by another, or lack of clarity between different skins as to what the underlying poker network is.
I get the impression that is it like the Microgaming tournaments, you create one multiplayer tournament "account", and then use this at any MG casino offering the tournaments. Clearly, I would know that if a new MG casino joins in, I should use my existing account. But, what about Cryptologic? This is completely different.
What if there is an equivalent problem with poker, and an "MG" player sees the poker equivalent of the "Cryptologic" interface and registers there, but behind the scenes it all turns out to be still Prima (or similar), and the software difference fools the player into thinking they are playing in two completely different poker networks, and thus sets up two distinct personas - one for each network. If there is this confusion, the player actually ends up with two "accounts" on the SAME poker network, and gets problems as a result.
I can see another problem. One network or skin being moved to another network, one which the player already has an account. This again creates two accounts for the same player, inevitable if the change is not properly managed.

It's bad enough having these issues around cheating (Absolute), Bots, Collusion etc, and now we have to worry about "reputable" poker sites behaving like rogue casinos.
How is the industry going to convince someone like me that I am just as safe playing online poker as I am with using only reputable casinos, and avoiding obvious rogue sites.

hey vinyl, yes as i say about 6 months ago i was looking to play poker online full time ,i didnt have any informaton about which sites were any good so i just started by downloading about a dozen or so sites and playing a few games on each to see if i liked them. i (as you know) i downloaded all 3 of these sites and set up accounts without knowing that i had in fact already broken the terms and conditions of these sites without actually playing a single game.why is it then even possible to set up 3 accounts from the SAME email addy, surely this is something that should not be allowed in the first place? surely they should be blocking me from opening another account on the same skin.to let somebody open 3 accounts and then to tell me i have broken the terms and conditions is just mindboggling

Ok, I've heard back from CnR. According to them the way forward seems to center on the fact that ChecknRaise was a member of the Ongame Network and Ongame oversees security, risk and fraud issues for the network. So here's the gist of what they had to say:

This player's account was flagged by Ongame and subsequently blocked. (I believe Red Kings is also an Ongame site, so the reason for the block on both sites may be linked) .... I would suggest as a first step is that the player contact an Ombudsman that Ongame has set up for players' complaints with respect to one of the Ongame partner sites. ( He could access this by going to Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) ). Hopefully the player will be able to get help this way. If this does't work I can try to see what I can find out from Ongame ...

So that's that. I'll alert the Ombudsman to what's going on here and see if that precipitates some action. I'd suggest the player(s) do the same.

well its been nearly a week now and still no word as regards to my little problem
i have not heard back from brandon or the ombudsman.
have you heard anything max?

No, I haven't. Somewhere on the Ongame site though it does say that issue submitted to the Ombudsman will take some time to be processed. I thought they said 21 days but I can't seem to find that just now.

P.S are you an ex fruit machine player like me?

Yes, I played alot up to around 1996 when it began to go downhill.
The worst loss was when they changed to all cash payouts and all the old "skill climb" features were replaced by pseudo-skill (as in rigged) features where you could not get the jackpot unless the machine was really ready for it.
I still played somewhat after that, but have not been on my rounds for a couple of years now.
The new gambling act has bade things worse, in that many of the motorway fruit machines are closed off because they now require an ejector of under 18's to be permanently stationed in the machine area, not just using CCTV from the shop or restaurant with half-hourly checks.
Naturally, if I got some decent "info", I would be off on a trip, knowing full well it probably would not last long.
It's a good job online casinos came along to fill the void:D

I have thought of going out again and seeing what has changed over the last two years, but it would mean getting cold and/or wet, so I will probably wait till spring or summer.

I just want to be clear about this: you did submit your complaint to the Ombudsman, correct?

Well, I'd say that's about long enough. I'd say you've been pretty patient about it. I'll send them something too and maybe between the two of us we can get some action happening.

Please note that I have moved malleeboy's PlayersOnly issue to it's own thread here (entitled "unfortunate issue with PlayersOnly").

Oops! Sorry 'ducked, I lost track of this due to the holidays and didn't get around to email them yet. I'll do that today. My apologies.

Well, I see that they've posted this at the Ombudsman page:

Due to the holiday season all inquiries to the Ongame Network Ombudsman as of December 22 will be handled in the new year.

My guess is that we're better of waiting until Wednesday the 2nd before sending them anything. If we do it today it'll just get stuck in their Xmas backlog and we'll have that much longer to wait.

No, but that's no surprise. You can expect a few days turn-around on these things, at best.

Ok, just heard back from the Ombudsman crew. Cutting to the chase here's what they said:

...once the nick of "rubberducked" account is known to us the complaint will be forwarded to the centralized Ongame Network fraud unit for further investigation.

I presume they want your account name at CnR. If you could send that to me via PM I'll forward it to them and ... I guess we go to the next step, whatever that might be.
