Hey guys,

Just wanted to warn everybody here. Seems like there are new (kind of clever made) Phishing mails for neteller beeing sent out. I received this to the emailadress i have registered with neteller. As iam used to receive these phishing mails for paypal on weekly basis, these guys cannot trick me, but others may fall for the trap. The sender is missspelled (netellre) already enough to say it´s fake. I also informed neteller immediately about this, just hate these fu**n clowns trying to steal peoples money, so WATCH OUT!

Thanks for the heads up coxwel! Lucky for me most of this gash goes into my spambox but some does leak through it really is hellish! Not sure whats worse this or these phoney emails from people saying they have money for you just send bank details etc they are just pure scum!

Yes, most times you can easily recognize these scam/fishing etc. stuff. But this email wasnt detected by my spam, and is quite well done. Seems like it adresses Neteller Account holders directly, and the idea with the GoldVip status is something new and may tempt some people into clicking the link and logging in. On the first look it could seem legit (design, letter type), only once i saw the sender misspelled it rang a bell.

What really annoys me with this kind of stuff is the fact people ARE selling there Mailing lists to the wrong kind of companies. Also a lot of the Mailer programs that people use now do a review of the mailers before they are sent out for the customer. So how people are still getting away with this i don't know. Also they must know enough information to be able to find out you have neteller.

There are two variants of this email. be sure to hover your mouse over the link and you will see either of the below:

Email titled - Free Status Upgrade with Neteller

xxx.xxx.member.ncteller.com/session/index

Email titled - VIP Gold - You Deserve More

xxx.xxx.member.netnller.com/session/index

Mine went straight to spam in both instances.

Yeah you're quite right - '
Congratulations and we’rehappy to inform you that we assign you the VIP Gold status! '

Seems to have a poor command of the English language :)

this would certainly ring alarm bells with me ...........................may tempt a few newbies but people using neteller regularly would know that it's like 100K per year worth of txns to be gold vip.....

Simples. Neteller, Skrill or your banking will never link to something which needs downloading or normally to their site. Best way to check is login directly at the website.

But yes this one is quite well done.

Plus it's hard enough to keep your VIP level at Neteller and they give nothing away from free.:D I always log into Neteller directly even when I know the email is legit:D

Since that is a real phone number located in Defiance, Ohio that guy is either really incompetent or completely unaware that the website was created with his information. Fradkin Brothers Furniture is a defunct business.

Minor tweak of the thread title so as not to be confused with official Casinomeister Warning/Be Aware notices. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Thanks for tweaking it, i wasnt AWARE ;):p

@jasminebed: I have immediately reported this to neteller security, they answered and told this was a scam attempt and i assume they take any necessary steps to deal with this.

is very easy to send an email to look like is sent by google, neteller, skrill contact emails. scammer was really stupid so the people that click on links in bank related mails with this never ending crisis around. this is nothing. who read the hackbb forum before the tor blackout, if any, knows what real scammers successfully do and which the target is, was and always will be - american customers because their bank system have lots of weak spots, because they are keeping most of money on cards, and because of evil US online casinos or markets that sell the info they collect before closing their doors, including cards details to random individuals on tor on big money. one is selling blank cards, one machines like they use in real bank system when a card is made and the experienced one connects all the data and technology, owning your card from your wallet. your CARD, safe and secure for everything is only propaganda. if you are american, better walk with money like Floyd Mayweather than to put it all connected with your daily basis card. there are clever but evil minds and their job is to exploit the bank system and as i remember, at least one successful thread per month was made.

if anyone is asking, no, im not one of them because i lack knowledge, empathy being also a factor and the risk to get caught at one small mistake. tor is the ghetto of the internet, is available for everyone yet all choose to stay away from it. but because i hate censor i like to escape in the depths of anonymity following the events they dont show in mainstream media, to read all types of forums and hopefully to catch the wave this time to something similar of what bitcoin was at first.

Huh:what:
So your saying you would not be party to credit card fraud because you empathize and afraid of getting caught? Tor is the cesspool of the internet if you ask me. It's full of pedophiles, crazies and nutjob conspiracy theorists. I doubt you would find the truth about anything there.

There have been many cases of credit card skimming (I think that is what its called) the last few years. So lets hope that they come up with more secure cards in the near future.

Valid Point. Sure this is only one "small" factor of all the different fraud going on online. There are also many many german fraud, carding boards. If you read these once you see what is possible, how easy it is. These are mostly teenagers carding on amazon, doing all kinds of fraud.

Many of them justify their criminal behaviour with some pseudo-attitude against the big firms, capitalism and so on. For me, bottom line is, they defraud people, they are little cowards hiding behind their screens and think they couldnt get caught, obviously they get caught often enough but mostly only the small time scammers. behind this theres often some well organised organisation, shipping their stolen goods arpund the globe so you cannot make out anymore whos behind it.

For me having money on f.e. credit cards has one big plus, if i should ever get defrauded by anyone who stole my credit card details, these funds are insured. Bank will cover up the costs if it was fraud, so as a customer iam on the safe side by using my credit card most times. It happened to my brother some years ago, an asian hacker-ring hacked the click2pay database, his credit card was debited to the max credit amount in online casinos through his hacked click2pay where the card was connected with. He had to went to the police and explain them for hours! what even click2pay is, they had no clue waht was going on. Bottom line, visa refunded him immediatly so no harm for him, which was good as these criminals took 2k€ from his card  and seem to get away with it. Sick sick world:(

The easiest way to avoid clicking on a dodgy link is to scroll over the sender and if it says some bull email like geoff@gloriousdays.com or something daft like this when its supposedly from the bank,e-wallet etc. This way you know lots of fake fb mails go out as well this is the easiest way to identify phony emails

Absence of your name is always a red flag. Something all phishing emails appear to have in common. Well that, and the poor grammar!

Typing in the web address of a specific website in your web browser is the safe play, as opposed to clicking on a link attached to an email.

Unfortunately phishing scams are par for the course these days. If in doubt click delete!
