I just received an email from CR saying "Did you know that you already have an account with QuickTender?"

I can't believe my eyes. Have they finally went too far and given a 3rd party my personal information WITHOUT MY PERMISSION?

If so, they CR needs beaten with the Rogue stick, and fast. If I wanted a QT account, I'd ask for one, not the other way around.

Judging by the following instructions, it's apparent that they indeed have provided QT with my personal information -

Once you receive the email with your account details, it will take 1 minute to open your QuickTender account: Simply,

* Click on the activation link
* Copy and Paste or Enter your temporary 'User Name'
* Click on 'Activate'
* Create a new 'User Name' and 'Password' (to use every time you log into your QuickTender account)
* Select and answer your security question
* Click on 'Save Password'

Once you have completed this then your QuickTender account will be created and available to you immediately.

I'm still waiting on a response from CR & QT and will keep everyone updated.

I actually got a quick reply from CR -

Thank you for contacting Casino Rewards about your query.

Quick Tender is an invitation only service, and in order to register an account with them, players need to be invited by the merchant (the casino) to join.

We provide Quick Tender with first name, last name and email address only. The player is then invited to register an account with Quick Tender and all other details must be provided by the player to complete the registration process.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss this further.

Not only are they giving a 3rd party my information, they're going against their own privacy policy (taken from BJ Ballroom, I'm sure it's the same for all CR casinos):

Privacy Policy
Blackjack Ballroom guarantees:

* Not to sell, give away, or otherwise communicate your personal or corporate information to any other persons or companies.

* To use your personal data to provide you with information or materials only if you requested it.
* We provide all our customers with the opportunity to remove your information from our database, at your request.

I guess they don't classify a person's full name & email address to be "personal information."

In other words, their actions are totally unacceptable. Am I out of line for seeing it this way?

ps: I also forgot to mention that I closed my CR accounts eons ago?

So they are happy to pass on Email addresses then, and don't consider this "personal" enough to be protected under their privacy policy. This might explain all the accusations that spammers obtain our casino Email addresses indirectly through casinos. Since the CR accounts have long been closed anyway, they have no cause to even CONSIDER that the player would benefit from the Quicktender service. LAST name is also too much, as publication of winners is normally by first name and first initial of last name - and is all that is used of a player's information that can be arguably in the public domain.

Surely the CORRECT procedure would be for the casino to FIRST contact the player, offering to pass on an invitation to Quicktender. This means that players can STILL get Quicktender accounts under the invitational system, BUT have the opportunity to say "NO" BEFORE their information has been passed on.
Also, Quicktender now have this player's First name, Last name, and Email address, what if Quicktender "did a Neteller" to get itself out of a hole with the DoJ, and agreed to turn over it's customer records for "investigation"?
It is one thing for a player to KNOWINGLY agree to this risk, but it should not be forced upon them.

Casino Rewards are not the only group doing this, it has been going on for some time in the industry, even I have received one of these "Quicktender invites", and why on earth would I want one:confused: Previously, both Jackpot Factory and BelleRock opened "Payspark" accounts for me without asking first, and all I had to do was confirm my details. This was highly confusing as I ended up with TWO of them, both slightly different types, and one, pointlessly, in US Dollars. They then went AWOL with some player's funds after things got a little "unstable" in Lebanon, and US players STILL haven't managed to untangle the mess this left them in.

ACCREDITED casinos should be REQUIRED to undertake NOT to pass on an invite like this on a player's behalf WITHOUT FIRST asking permission to do so from the player - I am sure the short delay this would mean would be acceptable to those who WANT such an invite made on their behalf.

I'm perhaps stating the obvious here, but I would have thought that CR has sufficient experience to know that it should have first asked for each player's permission before referring them to Quick Tender.

I wonder if there was a commission involved, or if this was done purely to assist the players?

I'll bet a commission was involved.........why else would they invite players WHO HAVE A CLOSED CASINO ACCOUNT! :eek2:

I received one of those emails, too.

I already have a QT account. I haven't used it at CR because I won't play CR casinos. Question is... do I now have a second QT account sitting there in limbo waiting on me to 'activate'? (Please note -- I'm suddenly receiving all these CR communications because they scarfed up those other casinos, Casino Action casinos I think.)

You see, this is something of a 'service' to those in the US who have found themselves scrambling for a QT account -- since it IS invitation only. However, can't that invitation be offered when requested by a player?

Proves what we know all along that they do sell the information contrary to their posted privacy policy. And what is funny is they even email you saying that they just "gave your name and email address." I think you have a chance to recover your previous losses by suing these guys.(don't forget your meister friends heh heh)

Anyway the question then is if they do that what else do they do that they promise they won't do??????

I think they also pass Email addresses to the spammers. I have noticed a load of CR spam for the old Casino Action casinos, which are STILL not officially available on the Casino Rewards website. If this is just "random spam", then I think the spammers must be psychic, as they seem to know just who to Email, and seem to "randomly decide" to add my Email to their spam list at the same time as CR obtain my details from the old Casino Action casinos.
As for this QT issue, they may well be using the Casino Action database, andnot their own, thus a player who is not an active CR player becomes one now if they were active recently at Casino Action.

The CR spam is normally aimed at getting me to take the SUB at any number of their casinos, most of which I already have done, and which gets players into trouble if they haven't already taken the SUB, and do so after receiving multiple spams for multiple casinos.

Now that I think About it, I might have had a casino action acct in the past..

not to get off track, but HI FROM VEGAS........:D

Off to the REAL casinos....hehe

I've noticed I'm getting a lot of new casino spam in the last few days.......wonder who sold my info this time?
This QT invite that winbig brought up........really does have some scary implications.
Not abiding by their own privacy terms, is just unforgivable, IMO.
If they sell you out this way......then they don't deserve to be trusted in any other aspect either.

Good luck at the REAL casino Winbig!!!

To play devil's advocate here, that is the same email I got from Riverbelle inviting me to join Quicktender when it first opened up. And I got one also (same one) from Villento. Isn't that the way you get an invitation to join Quicktender? I guess I just never thought about it when I got invite from Riverbelle as selling my information. I was just happy I got invited. :D

Nope...Any casino that has an ounce of ethics sends out an invitation to open a QT account; and if the player accepts, then the casino sets the ball in motion and sends the required info to QT.

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but a couple of years ago didn't Belle Rock open up Firepay (or similar) accounts for players and then tell the player about it afterward? That flew as well as a lead balloon also, I believe.

(not to get off track, but Hello to Winbig in Vegas. I'm green w/envy. Hope you bring home a handful of cashout checks.)
