Clicking a direct link to a post

will not work if you've changed the default "post per page" option in your settings:



This is a bit annoying since I like the 20 posts per page option, but I also like to be able to click links to direct messages.

I might be missing something but I just tried it and had no problem with your link, for instance.

To be honest I wouldn't expect there to be a problem since such a link is an "absolute" reference (refers to a specific post). If it were a "relative" reference (page X, post Y) then I see the potential for problems.

We'll investigate further but if you could add anything to help isolate the problem that would be good.

This came up before as a known issue, but this was a while ago, and on an earlier version of the forum software.

I think the problem was when linking to a post which is not on page one of the thread.
For example, I've always had my settings on 30 posts per page and have had this problem myself in the past.

So if someone posted a link to a post I made yesterday (#70 in the thread) it would come up as:
hxxp://www.casinomeister.com/forums/online-casinos/54843-microgaming-new-game-battlestar-ladbrokes-casino-7.html#post534717
Where the 7 "casino-7.html" is the page number for people on 10 posts per page.
But with my settings there are only 3 pages in the thread, so the re-direct did not work.

Seriously, it wasn't working before and I hate that now that I decided to make a thread about it, it works just fine. Reminds me of my car that stops making a weird noise as soon as I enter to the repair shop's parking lot.

For a long time I couldn't click on any direct link to a post because it was only leading me at the beginning of a random page in the thread, most often than not it wasn't even the page where the linked message was located. It stopped when I changed the page per post back to the default value.

So if nothing has been fixed in the past week or so, the bug is still out there.
