Here's my review below - cheers to everyone for the comp! 😀

Legacy of Ramses Book - slot review

This slot is a clone of -
  • Book of Magic by Novomatic
  • Magic Mirror Deluxe II by Merkur
...therefore there's not much to comment on in terms of game design. Even the paytable is the same. I doubt the maths is though, and I felt this a bit when I played it - those retriggers feel difficult to get - and this is based on my own play and comments from people I know who have played it. On Rise of Merlin by Play 'n GO the awards are slightly reduced and I suspect this is to pay for the retriggers, or a better bonus hit rate. Games like Sword of Khans by Thunderkick and Book of Power by Relax Gaming offer slight variations in the number of Free Spins awarded in an attempt to try and show the player the 'hook' of the game as much as possible.

The thing that sets this game apart from others like it is the graphics, which are really fantastic. The Book landing animation is a nice touch and everything looks flawless, even the user interface. I did find this a bit weird-looking though; the way the '9' floats in mid-air, but at least you notice it -

The comparitively low RTP of 94.10% is a bit off-putting when compared with the 95.61% the Magic Mirror Deluxe II gives you for example. Unless this slot is the only one of its kind when launched on a site (which let's face it, is very unlikely), you're always going to gravitate towards the others if you like to shop around for the best prices.

The sounds are pleasant enough and fit the theme of the slot. The Big Win bell-ring sounds a bit like a steam locomotive going through a level-crossing in Kansas however.

It's a good game, but it's been done many times before over the years.

FINAL SCORE - 3 lemons out of 5 🍋🍋🍋

Almost forgot my review of the slot. Much like the game, some things are easily forgotten. It's not a bad game, but not that great either. Like others have stated, it's just another clone and offers nothing new. So it'll be easily overlooked when choosing a game to play.

Personally, I usually play a small set of games and if a game new to me offers nothing intriguing (or doesn't pay out exceptionally well on the first run), I rarely go back to playing it again.

On a general note, offering slots with multiple rtp versions (and some at abysmal levels) is generally bad for players. Although the rtp setting is not the only thing affecting pleasant game play, it usually makes a difference to other than casual players. I played the 96.12 % version and as this is a high volatility slot, the gameplay was as expected (got bored when the game was not really paying out and changed to another slot). I can only imagine how poor the gameplay is with reduced rtp on top of the volatility.

A mid rating for a mid game, 5/10.

Well i wasnt going to play this but they have finally corrected the stake issue that no longer goes to max bet when pressing down stake on min bet so they get a thumbs up for that.

The game itself did actually crash a couple of times but might be my old lappy, as for the game not a lot of differance to many of this type out there so nothing really stood out, sounds and gfx are ok

With no retrigger in the bonus its hard to see any potential but im sure it does have it somewhere but they really need to add something to clones rather than re hash the same as every other provider.

Overall I would say 7/10

@Webzcas
I didn't receive my prize yet but I won't mind if they hold on to it untill the St.Patrick's prizes are scheduled to be paid out so that it'll be one transaction rather than two :)

Yes, I don't believe anyone has yet, hence I was thrown with @Wait!What? and his post above!

I have contacted the person in Finance responsible for making the payments this morning, I will nudge again this afternoon. Not ideal I know and I am sorry the payments of these prizes have taken this length of time already.

Sorry!

Payment received

Thanks again CM/Gamomat/Gentoo.
I was really worried I was going to open this thread when I saw you had posted, with you stating still not received payment.

Glad you have got it and once again can't apologise enough for the length of time it took for the prizes for this comp to be paid.

No apologies needed Webz. I'm sure all the forum members appreciate these comps a lot and know these need to go through corporate maneuvers. Sometimes things just take a bit longer.

Cheers!
