Hey guys,

Often we lose our money in gambling because we don't know WHEN to stop. Many times I've reached to $10,000 and drop my balance all the way to zero.
Coz the trick to win alot of money is to know WHEN TO STOP.

For example: Our balance is $1000.00 , we spin 5 rounds and down to $900. We spin another 2 rounds go up $1000, We spin another 10 rounds go down to $800,
It's up and down, so when to STOP ??

Any tips anyone, from a professional or experienced gambler?

In my view, one has to learn something from every experience with gambling.

All of us have been in situations like the one you describe, and the way i have come to look at it is this:

If you hit big on a game, its very easy to think "whoa here we go its gonna pay out its on a streak" and, as a result, up our bets and keep pressing in expectation of that streak. However, in reality, that streak almost never happens. My experience tells me that it is very rare to hit 300+xbet wins, so when I do hit one, I realise that its probably even more unlikely that its going to pay something like that any time soon. How many times have we hit a monster and given most of it back by pressing our bets? As a result my aim is to preserve as much of a big win as possible by:

1. Not taking bonuses too often and none with big WR.

2. Cashing out immediately after a big win (if possible) and leaving 2x my original deposit to play with.....believe me, it makes you adjust your thinking when you have a much lower available balance. In fact, I try to play like I did before I hit big, which has prevented me playing back most big hits over the past five years at least. If you really like to press bets, then maybe leave 3 or 4 x deposit to play with.

3. I set a cashout target of 5x deposit i.e. when I deposit $50 and reach $250 I cashout $200 and keep playing with $50. I then cashout $100 each time I reach $150. It's not for everyone, but the way I see it is that you know have 4 new deposits that you can use somewhere else on another day (working on a $50 deposit average). In addition, you still have some funds left to press your bets and you don't get that awful feeling of losing the lot. A new and new deposits bring a fresh attitude and can prevent "chasing"

4. Request for each cashout to be flushed, or at least play where the pending period is no more than 24 hours. A casino who doesn't offer at least one of these services is hoping you will reverse and lose.....don't give them the satisfaction. NEVER EVER REVERSE. Yes, you might win more, but the vast majority of the time you will lose. After all, remember how hard it was to win it in the first place?

5. Have a list of material items or holidays or projects that you would like to spend money on and stick it to your monitor. When you have a nice win, spend a set % of it on something from your list. At least this way if you deplete your bankroll later, you have something to show for your win.

There's other little things I do but I'm sure I've bored everyone enough already. It works for me, but you need discipline.....and imo if you don't have any, you shouldn't be gambling.

The answer that probably springs to mind is WAY vefore we usually do- we are all mostly guilty and tend to forget the losses of major wins and hold on to when we turned a major win into an better major win.

My policy (and despite the experience I don't sadly always stick with it) is to first attempt to double funds and if possible cash out my original deposit. I will then set higher cashout amounts - say I deposited 100 and got to 500 I would cash out 400 . I will always cashout if I hit 1000.

The key point is that games are random and a wining streak may continue or suddenly expire so you need to set your cashout at what you can afford to lose, what amount you are happy to win not the expectation of continued winning or the expectation that the dead streak will turn. I find its also handy to remember just how bad I felt when I gambled away a big win.

Simply base your wager against your balance and go from there.

If after spinning 10 spins you've lost 20% of your balance you are probably at the wrong bet level.

Additionally, you've got to balance your state of mind when you decide to play (Am I here to win big, am I here to win, or am I here to play out a bonus).

That more than anything will determine your approach.

I tend to use a "bracket". If I deposit $50, get to $200, I'm aiming to quit at $150, or carry on to $250. At $250, I'll change that bracket to cashing out at $200, or paying to $300. If I get to $300, then I'm playing for a $250 cashout, or on to $350.

I also want to play for a certain amount of time, so an early hit I will usually play back I'm afraid. And when it's time for bed, I tend to cashout if I don't have a WR remaining.

And don't reverse. That's the best advice of all.

Your question is the most important question of all for anyone who plays to WIN.

I read all of the posts. Your question is the most important question of all for anyone who plays to WIN. Not one person to post so far has given you, in my opinion, a single bad answer or piece of advice.

All of these folks obviously play on a regular basis and seemingly and hopefully none are doing harm to themselves by gambling.

I am the first to admit that I have questioned whether I should continue to gamble repeatedly due to loss of control time and time again. Whether it is chasing into a losing streak or throwing back a nice win it always hurts--hopefully nobody beside yourself.

None of us are perfect and if we gamble, there will be times when we F@#k ourselves. Now for my more than 2 cents on the subject:

Everyone that has posted so far has a system that seems to work for them. This is absolutely essential. My guess is that most are usually pretty good at maintaining control and stick to their money management plan.

You threw back Ten Grand. Unfortunately, I personally know more times than I can bare to think about exactly what you were feeling. If you got to Ten Grand, then you are an aggressive bettor like myself.

For me, I must first decide what my minimum amount to win is. In other words, how much makes it worth my while. That amount varies depending on my current financial status. Let's just say I will not cash out less than $500 and I'm starting with $100 (perhaps more incl bonus). Once I hit that $500, then it becomes my goal to keep a minimum of 75 to 80 percent. So, If I drop between $380 and $400--it's time to cash out.

Leaving money to play on later while the perfect choice for some only increases the chances that I'll lose control and throw it all back while the Withdrawal is still reversible.

Once I cash in, I find it best to not play that casino again until my withdrawal has left pending status and cannot be reversed. I find it best to log in only to check the status and then immediately log out again.

Hopefully my long-winded response will help you and I both avoid such costly mistakes again in the future.

I believe you should NEVER quit when winning. Ride it out hard! As for pressing it up up up, I think Jasiminebed's previous post pretty much mirrors my strategy.

One more thing . . . Nifty29 really put it in the nutshell!

nutshelled it (summed it up, or said the most important thing of all if you are unfamiliar with American Slang)

but you need discipline.....and imo if you don't have any, you shouldn't be gambling.

Nifty29, nothing and I mean absolutely NOTHING sums it up like the last thing in your post.

The Meister has some really good tips on this site about avoiding the pitfall into hell caused by out of control gambling. If you have not read this:

I highly recommend that you read it many times. I hope everyone has a prosperous, winning, blessed, and happy Holiday Season!

when.....

I stop when I start losing and have played all my usual high payout slots. What I do is cash-out and leave myself anywhere from $50-100.00 to play within in the next 2-5 days. But before I play the remaining balance I uninstall the casino, clear all files associated with that casino and temp and history files then reinstall and play the balance. Doesn't always work but 50% of the time I am able to cashout again.

I usually aim for atleast an $800-1000+ before withdrawing, especially now when fees are charged for cashouts under $300.00 at many casinos

Sometimes when things start to go south, I just stop playing and play my remaining balance again in a couple of days(I follow the same uninstall scenario I described above before resuming play)

You do realise its a waste of time doing the uninstall/reinstall thing? It's the same as rubbing the machine before you spin, or pressing all the buttons at once before you put coins in, or pressing the buttons with a rabbits foot etc.

It can have no bearing on your results....they come from the casino server not the software, and if the method you use increased your chances of winning then everyone would be doing it and the casinos would be going broke...and neither of those are happening. I would also be sure that the casinos would pick up if you were somehow winning more than everyone else and close your account etc.

I'm really surprised that anyone would think they could "fool" the software like this, let alone actually do it.

With all these nice responses, it looks like you guys have alot of experience. Thank you so much for sharing!
I've never thought we should have SO MUCH discipline in gambling. Looks like the keyword here is "discipline". :)

personally, i change games when i hit a big win. and when i feel that im starting to lose again, i dont try to recover, because that's what makes people lose a lot of money.

Just remember that it's all one long session. Any breaks in between gambling are artificial constructs .... they don't really have any meaning. Think of it this way and the right time to quit will be obvious.

Excellent advice from many of the wise forum members.

The two I would emphasize the most are:

Stop playing and leave that particular casino when you have accumulated a nice win. Request the w/d of all funds allowed and don't go back until w/d has been processed and funds can't be reversed. Plenty of other casinos to try while that hard won money works its way through the processors to you.

Never reverse a w/d

Also if you request a max w/d today of $2,500 from a Club World Casino Group - stop playing at any of their sister casinos until your w/d request has been processed. The reason I add this is that they currently have a $2500 max cashout TOTAL from all their affiliated casinos per week. You can get multiple withdrawals, but can't exceed $2500 combined per week.

If you win at one and request cashout, and then play at different online casino sites or groups, --you are already in trouble because if you win big -- you have the money tied up for another week before any w/d will be processed. TOO TEMPTING TO BLOW IT OFF, THE LONGER THE WAIT FOR A W/D.

IMO, FWIW

Great post

A really good question. Ideally I do this:

  1. Try to stick to casinos that don't have a reverse withdrawal option or that flush immediately.
  2. Try to think of a withdrawal as X number of future deposits. This really helps me - a £500 WD means around 10 deposits for me. Enough to get me through some harsh losing streaks!
  3. Pause every once in a while, especially after a big win or a bad beat and THINK. How am I feeling? Am I still having fun? Or am I getting hypnotized... If I'm not having fun - WITHDRAW and do something ELSE.
  4. Have a cashout goal before you start. This is why I really like the odd RTG bonus - meet the playthrough and withdraw or bust out. It's pretty clear cut.
  5. Visualize the cash hitting my account and think about what I will spend it on. Earmark all or a portion of it for something else.
  6. Think about the last time I reversed a withdrawal and how I felt after I lost it. Not want that feeling!

Other people have said some really good stuff here so I won't go on. My final tip would be this: after a really big win, I take a screenie, I pause and I savour it. I think about the sheer mathematics of me getting that win and I force myself to withdraw it all. I want the WIN not just the screenie.

as others have said, it's all about discipline.

Good luck!

Thanks Diane for the lovely advice, but I thought ClubWorld Casino maximum withdrawal is $4000 per week? I'm still waiting for them to process my $4000 withdrawal. They reversed my withdrawal yesterday and I have to do the request again. They say it should be processed within 24hours.

For those of us in the United States we are limited to $2,500 per week right now by courier check. We have no other options and they will not afford us the "normal" $4k per week limit of the past.

I asked if I could get a $2,500 check and another $1,500 check to = the $4,000 usual weekly limit and was told NO. They also told me it was a TOTAL of $2,500 per week from the entire Club World Group. In the past you were able to do multiple $4k withdrawals one from each site if lucky enough to win that much per week. But not now.

Maybe it is different for those of you outside the USA.

The processor problems continue to be an issue. I was told that they are still working on a new ACH/Wire option but nothing yet.

Just sharing as much as I know as a fellow player right now. Got info from Cashier office and various support staff members.

LOL
I'm sure everyone has some "unsavory" casino software installed. Most gamblers can't resist the challenge of taking up a "free chip" from a rogue casino, just to see how far you can take it. Of course you know you can't cash out, but it's always fun to turn $100 chip into a few thousand. I used to think like this, but one day I opened up my computer and saw that there was a second casino engine running in the background, while i was playing on a legitimate casino. This was an eye opener. Call me superstitious, but I do believe rogue casinos operate out of a box or server that they have "gaffed" in their favor. Curgam, Malta is one of those that I suspect do business this way. That said, I would strongly advise anyone who plays for real money to have only known honest casinos installed on their computer. Uninstall all the rest! What you seek in free fun may not be worth it at all.

can you help /tell me how a person could lose money if the other casino was running in the back ground ?

THis is all about the emotions we want to revel when we gamble. If the fact of a win makes you feel happy there's no need to wait untill you make 50% of you cash-in, double it or quadruple. Stop playing at any 'plus'. 'Hit-and-run' would be the best strategy for you, as far as it will make the number of your winning sessions maximized.
If the awareness of your own 'strong will' is what you are looking for - go for one of the strategies recommended above. No matter which one. Just the fact of 'following the plan all the way' will make you feel better. And even if you lose you will never feel as bad. Because the plan worked despite unlucky streak.
It happened to me good 4.5 years ago when I cashed in for US1000, played AR and BJ all night and cashed out over 180k in the morning. At some point in the middle of the night I was upto almost 300k, 2 hours later I was down to 8000, but I never stopped. All is well that ends well. I ended up as a winner having the casino crusified for 182k. I remember and I will always remember that night, simply because I happened to experience both great disappointment and euphoria within just a few hours.
If you are a type of the player who always wants to know the length of the longest winning streak - do what you feel, play and the best of luck to you!
Just be careful, don't hurt yourself

It's easy to know when to stop, it's picky people who sit behind you telling you what to do that makes you play it all away, like me yesterday,
up to £600+ yesterday had WR to meet, couldn't think, my man behind me telling me to stay on the game that threw the wins :( big mistake, should've changed the game, optimism left me as he HATES GAMBLING!!!!!!!!! (and I LOVE GAMBLING) next time I play, I want a free room with no people behind me making me anxious, period!

Haha, true.. lock the room, on your PC and play SOLO ! Maybe you can win more or win less.. depending on your temptation. Very tough to control. I'm still struggling.. :x
