For me a casino does not only need to have integrity towards their players and their casinos responsibilities, but is seen to have those attributes.
Its no good having a fantastic casino if your not putting yourself forward by promoting the fact that you are via the various online casino related discussion sites.
After all, every casino claims to be the best when advertising themselves,so the reputation gained by making ones self accessible and open can make all of the difference.
Ask Videoslots or Euromoon casino's about the differences regarding integrity and responsibilities

Number one by far is fast withdrawals, played mg download casinos for years and cannot believe I put up with the 24-48-72 hours (+weekends) reversal crap, once you play as fast paying casinos you never look back.

Leaving out the obvious like strong/trustworthy regulation...

1: Fast Cashouts
2: Quick, efficient Account verification (if problems arise and support can immediately help you via live chat thats a big plus too.)
3: A little freebie every now and then goes a long way for me. :D

Fast payouts are the most important thing for me. I was playing Villento casino which I had great luck with but they took from Saturday morning till Thursday to pay me. I deleted them from my computer because of it. If they advertise one or two days to pay you that's what it should be even tho I'm aware this casino doesn't count weekends.

1) Loyalty program with free spins and bonuses
2) Fast payouts - locking withdrawals
3) Software / game choices.

It would have been a good choice also the last option "fast, communicative, knowledgeable customer support" but I reckon this on my market is impossible.
However from my point of view the "loyalty" matter comes first. I am very disciplined and I can manage medium-term withdrawal times.

I have a term that is list item "0" that is number 1 for me for a simple reason: Payment options! As a Canadian, we can't use the common methods that most casinos have nowadays like Neteller / Skrill, Banking options like Trustly, etc...

0 ) Deposit / Withdrawal methods! - For me, Only E-wallet that we can use is Ecopayz and that method is for 99% of the casinos that I play at. For others, Instadebit and iDebit for instant banking solutions is a must have!
  1. * Software/game choices - Having many providers to play from makes a casino worthwhile to play on.

  2. * Fast payouts - locking withdrawals - Not having to wait until a weekday or longer than 24 hours when you request a cashout is always good. You should be able to cash out any day of the week including weekends, yet some casinos only process them on weekdays. :/

  3. * Loyalty program with free spins and bonuses - Having a reason to go back to a casino that you like with an extra on top helps in extending playtime when the slots are rough so you lose your money slower in the long run.

For me

1. 24/7 Customer support across all channels. Especially live chat who people are likely to speak to first. When I take time to describe a problem and specifically say it is not a cookies/cache problem with the reason why, when they come back with please clear your cookies, I want to punch them through the screen.

2. Fast payouts. No just normal ones, but if out the blue they ask for a copy of the card, process it and the withdrawal same time, not do the card 24 hours later, then the payout 24-48 hours later. While I don't need a payout in 3 minutes, once they move into the next day then it annoys me and does stop me being so happy to deposit again.

3. VIP schemes, make them at least slightly transparent and I know for a fact I spend enough to be VIP, yet not once been asked. Not that, from what I've seen on here, they seem to be offering much I would take, but still its nice to be asked. I've deposited over £25k each at 3 casinos over the past year, yet get the same 10 free spins randomly the same as other players who might deposit £10 a month. One for example shows from 1st Jan this year Deposits £24,543.00 Withdrawals £29,153.05 Bonuses £336.70.

4. Games, I play 3 or 4 providers almost exclusively. If one is missing it will stop me playing there.

5. Decent promotions, none of this raffle shit. No one wins. You could spend £30k getting a ticket for a draw every £20 you spend, but it can still be won by someone who played £20.

6. Not take the piss with any AML requests, nor lie about why they are doing them. That will stop me playing at a casino full stop. Closed my account at Rizk for this (and some other bits, mainly to do with their data protection errors).

1. loyalty - plenty of free spins and cashback
2. fast payouts to cards.. stopped using skrill and the likes because they treat ATM conversion rates like airport exchange, total rip off company with high and multiple fees. drew a line between the current state and when they were called moneybookers, the design is a step back, also the functionality(they eliminated sms sending), it takes days for support to respond, cash promotions like hit that ball, unveil the gift etc totally disappeared..
3. provider choices.. VS still not complete... where are the EGT games? :D on a side note, why the hell is Merkur determined in releasing retro/outdated graphic games 5/10 lines when their landbased games have Vegas worthy graphics and are also great games???

Things have changed in the past few years with how casinos have been approaching players - and I'd like to know what is important to you - the player.

Is it the special offers that casinos are handing out? VIP/loyalty programs? Or does it have to do with the functioning of the site i.e. fast payouts, software choices, etc.

Please choose three. :D
The Most important thing online casinos can do IS NOT CHEAT...Play fair...Fast withdrawls...Just like a land based casino...

I think they need to look after loyal players, instead of pumping out new player offers all the time

Beyond the obvious of fast payouts, that any brick and mortar casino can do in seconds 24/7. The most important is a license jurisdiction that in itself are not run, supported and influenced by the operator themselves, through subsidiary lobbyist consultants that sit on both boards. All have been guilty of it, court cases are on going from Malta to Kanawake. The UKGC is the better of the lot,, but they too are lacking in supervisions of the servers themselves, which are held in Malta. I n fact the CEO of Mr green has even commented on the lack of supervision with regard to the tagging With the evolution of sophisticated algorithms employed its anyone guess what games being offer are of any integrity. Switching servers is a practice, common or not, it does exists no tin foil hats needed. It well documented.- just not on affiliate sites or in trade journals.

Nr1. Brand/reputation:
It has to be a trustworthy casino.

Nr2. Software/game choices:
The casino must have games from lots of different providers.
I want to be able to chose.

Nr3. Easy to read no strings attached promotions:
The welcome bonus and deposit bonuses must have clear and easy bonus rules.

I agree also, very difficult to pick 3 really. Ultimately you want to feel valued as a player, so promotions are a big part for me.

Fast cashouts and locking withdrawals are not such an issue for me, but can see how they are appealing to others.

The website is quite important too, nothing worse than when you sit down for a nice session only to find the games keep crashing!

Great poll, interesting to see what everyone looks for.

Rob :)

Finally Loyalty Bonuses & Free Spins. They don't have to be huge value (though casinos can shove 50% and less match offers where the sun don't shine), but just a little something to show they appreciate your custom.
Personally i love receiving EMails for 10 or 25% match Bonuses...

Great idea for a thread and poll :)

The poll could have a lot more options I feel, and one or two of the existing ones could be split up. For example, I'm fully behind locking withdrawals but I don't really care how fast my money goes into my bank, as long as it does. I'm not gong to be checking my account every two minutes so I can spend the money as soon as it appears, or moaning when it takes a few hours, but that's just me. If I've spent more than I should have, and I've got payments going out tomorrow then maybe I would, but we're all responsible gamblers here aren't we folks? :D

So I didn't choose that option.

I've often wondered what it would be like if an online casino had a tie-in with a supermarket or major retailer like Amazon or something, with whom you could accrue shopping vouchers or somesuch depending on your level of play? At least then if you did your brains you'd have some vouchers to spend on something nice for yourself. I'd go out and buy a nice bottle of scotch and attempt to drink away the fact that I got 5 scatters on Secrets of the Stones and somehow ended up with just 22 spins with x2 multiplier, which went for £3.60 on a 25p stake :(

When I brought on Virgin Casino years ago, I was anticipating that they'd access their other brands like Virgin Air, Virgin Records, etc. To have giveaways like trips, cruises, DVDs, etc., but they never did. As you can see from this here poll, bonuses rule and non bonus prizes are not interesting to the player. Different strokes, different folks I guess. I'd prefer that bottle of scotch than more bonus offers.

I think a lot of people would appreciate gifts like that, but they just don't exist for most players. I get plenty of emails about raffles if I deposit and they go straight in the trash because the chance to win is just way too small to care. If I get a bonus I know exactly what I get and of much higher value. If some casino would offer "Deposit $50 and we send you a bottle of scotch" I'm sure they'd get plenty of people taking it.

I chose...

1. Fast payouts - locking withdrawals. I chose this despite three things...

i. having never voluntarily reversed a withdrawal in nearly 7 years of playing slots online
ii. Playing at CR, which has a 48 hour pending period
iii. Not actually NEEDING to have fast payouts or the ability to lock a withdrawal (I merely like having the choice)

I closed my account at Dr. Vegas (despite it being one of my luckiest casinos), simply because waiting between 7 and 14 days to receive my winnings via cheque got really old, really fast. Dragging your heels when it's time to pay up is not acceptable behaviour from a (now former) CM-accredited casino.

2. Brand/reputation (not being CM accredited is "sometimes OK" IMHO, but being rogue is most definitely not OK).
I have accounts at Sky Vegas, Bet365, Gala, CR, Betway and Spin Casino and even though they are all spending (or have previously spent) time in the Grey Zone,
I can say with hand on heart that none of them have ever resorted to stalling tactics when it came to paying me after a cashout request.

Obviously, affiliates may have a different opinion of those brands (and I totally understand why they might). But I am a player, not an affiliate.

3. Knowledgebale CS with hassle free KYC (I refuse to deposit at a casino until I achieve full account verification - I created accounts at Energy in February 2016, Grosvenor in May 2016, Videoslots in June 2016 and All British in August 2016).
As things stand today, I still haven't deposited a single penny in any of them, because they would not accept my Electoral Identity Card.
Their loss, not mine. Their loss, another casino's gain.

As for the knowledgeable CS, this is a must. I don't expect them to have a Masters Degree in casino operations and casino policy, but they should at least be somewhere above "beginners level". Good CS breeds confidence in the casino operation as a whole.
That said, a casino that runs so well that I hardly ever need to contact CS in the first place gives me even greater confidence and trust in the casino.
Having a good CM rep is also a major plus.

Just to add something about information available to the player and RTP.
MG just decided to add the TRTP in the help pages of the games. Very good news. Videoslots has almost the perfect information tool about RTP and TRTP.

But there are casinos and providers that have lower TRTP settings in the games and hide it (like PlaynGo).

I think the best analogy of low RTP is 'Ocean's 8' and Cate Blanchett watering-down the vodka at a nightclub she owns.
The average player has no idea it is lower RTP (most don't even know what RTP is), just like the average cutomer at the club has no idea the vodka has water. In that case they are clearly 100% stealing the player/customer.

On the other hand, you can go to the club and ask vodka with ice (ice is water). No problem with that.
Just like a business can sell at whatever prize they want, also a player that knows the RTP is low at one casino can choose to play there or not.

The industry wants to focus on that side and say "we can discuss how easy to find RTP is".
But infomation is the key and as long as even one player has no idea what RTP is, it doesn't even matter if it is not hidden, lowering RTP means stealing.

The only way it can be ok is if you make 100% sure that the player knows. You can only do that with a big pop-up every time you login saying:
"Attention, this site operates games at a lower RTP. That means your playtime will be a lot smaller. Find out more here." And a link explains exactly what RTP is
and how it effects playtime.

For me online Casinos should have knowledgeable customer support that knows a lot regarding online gaming and doesn't respond as iif they are automated reply bots. Also, simple questions need simple answer. I had a lot of experience dealing with bad Customer Support. So, I believe having a good customer support service will build up a good reputation for the Casino. Of course, payouts/withdrawals should be fast and locked right away... No delaying tactics! - hoping that maybe the player might cancel his/her pending withdrawal.

I think a lot of people would appreciate gifts like that, but they just don't exist for most players. I get plenty of emails about raffles if I deposit and they go straight in the trash because the chance to win is just way too small to care. The time of regular hampers, cases of champagne and expensive liquor turning up on doorsteps are long gone. And maybe for a good reason, players don't need extra lures to increase their spending at a casino. :D
