It’s become evident that players are fans of Megaways slots - the volatility alone ensures that there’s some significant levels of win-potential, and the game’s themselves ... Megaways Remakes: The Future Of iGaming? - Casinomeister

What are your thoughts of Megaways remakes?

I agree with @greylady - They have been done now by too many providers since BTG partnered with other providers and sold the rights to them. But saying that, some providers have copied them with new methods.

What is needed is again a brand new system that is far better than megaways that will again be over done. It will just be the case of rinse repeat rinse repeat over and over, what ever they come up with next or what the next big new slot system will be.

I mean there is loads of Ideas of slots I could come up with that would be entertaining. But would they be big hitters and popular. Who knows........ I think what needs to happen is slots need to be more fairer and they need to get rid of those near miss spins and teases and those disgusting big win messages when you get a win of only 5X. I mean it really is god damn frustrating as it is. Slots have got super super tight the last year, they just do not play like they used to play. Be that because casinos have chosen to lower the RTP for certain providers or because providers are tweaking their slots behind the scenes to pay far less and make them harder to win on. Who knows for sure.......

If slot providers actually made a slot that had a true RTP of around 98% and stick to that. They would be well received as a whole. But when slot providers and casinos keep lowering RTP of the slots it just makes them less enjoyable and means less playtime and less playtime also = less entertainment.......... But saying that, if providers did make a slot with a fixed 98% that is not changeable by them or any casino that pay for a license with that provider to host that slot in their casino, it would probably mean the casinos that do not like the 98% RTP slot will just choose to not bother even paying for a license with that provider or revoke their current license they already had with them. So then it would be a bad thing for players too.... Casinos are just now just caring only for their profits........

Just my opinion......

Never hit more than 400x to 500x on megaways slot in over 5 years so i tend to stay away from them.

Constant petty wins in the base then needing a multiplier to get a decent win in the FS only for it to go 5 to 7 seven dead spins, after doing 2k spins for that Bonus.

But hey i guess i'm just randomly unlucky.

No Opal Fruit is not a megaways.

No, you are not alone in this. Outside of buying loads of features when that was a thing I too am struggling to think of any major hits on a Megaways slot. Do quite like them though despite myself although in smallish doses and lean towards the somewhat less volatile ones mostly.

It’s gone to far with megaways but their is a reason the bonanza thread is still going..
I personally think their is now to many replicas of the same slot just re-skinned,
Btg Hires out their megaways to slot provider, who hire out their slot to casino which has a hired mechanic, then makes the casino pay to call that slot with a hired mechanic their own branded casino megaways slot with a low rtp that’s when you no it’s gone to far

They're low-risk and future-proof, but basically the 'new normal' that nobody asked for.

What these lacklustre, creatively- devoid 'designers' fail to realize is that with each, erm, 'reimagining' the brand gets diluted to the point of being worthless.

So whilst 243-Ways had a bit of a run and was set to domineer slotdom, there was still ample alternatives about to break up the turgidity. All Megaways are doing is sounding the death-knell to an already tanking industry

Real slotters don't want the influx, but perhaps the lowest wrung of slotters are positively brainwashed enough to think they're enjoying it

I personally swerve megaways slots these days. A lot of bluster and very little end product.

Look at slots like wild west gold...an example of a brilliant high volatility game with realised potential and a fun bonus. No megaways needed.

I also agree with Greylady, DreamRJ and others. They have become so tiresome already. They were a novel idea when they first came out but now it's become McDonald's. Slots providers come up with new and innovative slots and let us have a fancy steak once in a while.

: Note to self don't post when hungry....

Another thing which seems evident is how Megaways provide no real value for money, in that MW games spin faster I find than your average slot. Sure, I don't expect every game to be at the crawling speed of DOA but it soon adds up.

Barring some extraordinary set of cascades, the average punter will burn through a modest £20 with nothing to show for it, and most certainly no sense of anticipation as it's over in the blink of an eye!

Couple that with AV gameplay (Aggravating Variance) and it's clear these slots need to be pared back in their Sonic speed, because as it stands they're neither fun, nor exciting, nor winnable :eek2:

Other than that though they're ace

I hope they're not the future but they certainly are the present. They're everywhere at the moment for a reason, the market is eating them up.

Megaways is just such an obvious choice for suppliers - it's a ready made mechanic to take the likes of Gonzo's Quest from one huge game to two huge games, it's a legitimate way for the likes of ReelPlay or Iron Dog to gain interest and become genuine challenger studios, it's an easy tick for an operator to get a branded skin, and it's helped turn Blueprint into a must-have.

I think we're at the point now where just releasing any Megaways game is no longer good enough, so I'm interested to see the point where fresh gameplay ideas and the maths model meet. They're not the biggest games out there but credit to Fantasma for trying to shake things up a bit in this space.
