Well, I live alone with my cat. And I must admit that I usually do not use much time on making dinner. But my dinner today, oh my...it certainly made me feel like a prison inmate :)

All you need is a saucepan, a scissor and a pack of "swedish meatballs" :o (pictures are from my kitchen today)

First you need to go to a store and buy this package.

Then you must take the plastic bags out of the package

Boil them for about 10 min

Open the plastic bags by using a scissor. Place the food on a plate and...eat it :o

The T loves cooking.

Yes, fresh food taste much better and it is better for the health

Stupid microwave food

To bad you don't live near me.
I would invite you over.
If my neighbors hear that I am cooking they pop in all the time.
Next week is my Big pot of sauce.
And last week was my Big pot of chicken soup.

Sounds cozy T :D

I will let you now the next time I`m in your neighborhood :p

Oh, and I love meatloaf:)

Those were meatballs???? What was that other stuff on the plate beside it? And where were your vegetables? or fruits? I hope you didn't feed any of that to your cat! Are you sure that was edible? :eek2:

The other stuff on the plate is mashed potatoes :)

Vegetables? Never heard of :p

Oh no, I would never have given this food to my cat. He deserves better :)

Did you microwave the litter tray by mistake?

Try this 7 min recipe.

Grab a frying pan,
Pour some olive oil in it,
Turn on gas,
Chuck some frozen prawns in,
Wait till they start sticking to the pan (5 mins)(now they're cooked),
Open a pack of ready steamed rice, chuck the rice in with them,
add a pinch of salt and garlic,
Stir for 2 mins,
Voila,
Fried rice and prawns.
Wash down with a pack of cold beers.
:eat:

i actually had swedish meatballs in sweden at they are awsome - so i think that is a swedish form of hungryman or swanson frozen dinners here in america. it might look yucki but i bet it tasted ok right?

Yes, it tasted OK. And to be fair, the producer (Fjordland) is part of the largest diary company in Norway, a company who has provided Norwegians with milk for the last 130 years. So the quality is very good, but looks rather bad :)

LOL I had to go back look at the pic again...mashed potatoes...hmmm

Okay rainmaker, you come to the states, I will cook you homemade meatballs in a mushroom sauce with homestyle mashed potatoes. You get steamed broccoli, homemade chunky applesauce and a nice corn bread on the side. And for dessert I'll make you a nice apple crisp (since it's fall and apple season right now) ;)

I love to cook, but it's no fun to cook for one (although I cheat sometimes, I make extras and feed the 3 kitties and 3 dogs snacks).

Who said they liked meatloaf? Easy fixing for meatloaf...Prepare meatloaf, but instead of putting in a loaf pan, put in non-stick muffin tin cups. Makes individual servings that don't fall apart.

Here make a Meatloaf

My Meatloaf
2 lbs pounds ground beef <-----1 lb of Reg beef & 1 lb of Bison (Bull) lol
1 to 1/2 cups of Ritz Crackers.
1/4 or a little more cup fresh parsley, chopped
3-4 cloves garlic, finely minced & if you love garlic add more
3 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon salt Please use Sea Salt
can of diced tomato
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup. Parmesan
Italian Seasoning a pinch or two
At 350 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours

Make a loaf and put Oinons around and on top of it.

If it tastes as good as it looks you are in trouble. I love eating but I'm too lazy to cook sometimes and in peaks of laziness I have bought really gross dinners from the supermarket. You get used to it.

Hej,

Rainmaker is your 21st Century man right there.

I'm right with you buddy and have eaten shit I don't even know the name of- Us Aussies are not fussy eaters by any means.

As I work 11 hour shifts 4 days a week I will make a BIG batch of spaghetti bolognese and put them in 4 containers and freeze them and just take one out each day I work.

I will usually Cook a few batches of things on my first day off while having a few beers and listening to tool or some other heavy music.

Try doing a few wet dishes and freeze them mate- Me personally I think shit (not literally shit but shit) tastes better after it has been frozen for a few days- makes the taste really come out with some food.

How about this for a challenge when you are bored.

Go and buy some FRESH fruit and veg etc and go and make a PROPER meal yourself then take pisc of it and send it to us.
We wan't to see you try a hand at cooking something decent and healthy foryourself.

This thread actually reminds me of something going on in Australia right now. The consumer watch dog is onto big companies for false advertisement.

If you see on the pack you bought there is a good 8-9 meatballs with a fair size side of potatoes etc. Now looknig at the actual meal you got it does seem about the right portion, well NOT IN AUSTRALIA buddy.

The packet will be all big and you think your getting a good meal but when you open it you find 2 meatballs with a little bit of mash etc. they are ripping us off in a big way and getting away with it.

The latest is with the Cadbury chocolate- they say there is 250grams in each pack/bar but what they have actually done is made the PACKET bigger and reduced the amount of chocolate, they are scaming us bigtime and noone can really stop them.

They started downsizing packaged food and canned food, and even cleaning supplies, a long time ago. Remember when ground coffee came in a five pound can? And a can was 16 ounces? And yes, Hershey chocolate bars were much bigger! It sucks but you are right, Same_old, there isn't a thing we can do, unless we decide to quit eating and cleaning our stuff!

I love to cook, but I'm more about taste than presentation personally. Even great homemade swedish meatballs and mashed won't look that appealing. But a side of brocolli wouldn't hurt you, just saying.

And you are not in prison, or you could offer Bubba your lingoberry sauce you don't want.

Tomorrow is Canadian Thanksgiving, and I'm solo, so no turkey. But I bought a nice filet of sockeye salmon, which I'll do with a pistachio and dill pesto, some garlic rosemary roasted mini potatos, and some microwaved steamed brocolli.

It's better to taste fabulous than to look fabulous.

Reminds me of my bachelor days - decades ago. My specialty was Rice a Roni, and I'd add a couple of handfuls of dry roasted peanuts. With a little bit of soy sauce, that was killer. I would even invite chicks over for dinner thinking I would woo them over with my chef-like prowess.

Sometimes, it worked

I used to be a Microwave Dinner dude when I first moved outta the roost.... then Take-Aways... But there's only so much you can eat of that until your well defined 6 pack abs turn into a Case (of Beers..LOL)...

I learned to cook and I must add I'm not bad at all in the Kitchen. I'm actually a much better cook than my chickita :)... I just Love when the women mention all those home made meals... Nothing Better!!! Hmmm... Now I'm hungry... Chickita better have made my prawns or else!!
