Aliens (NetEnt)

I'm playing it right now. Seem's to play the same as all their other recent releases. Feels a little compensated like most of Netent's games where you have to collect things. I wouldn't play it on real mode. The extra long spins can get kind of tedious as well so I suggest turning on quick spin.

The graphics are awesome though feel's like your playing a video game :)

Played it now for over an hour. Started with 50$ - 0.90$ bets...

It's a different slot.

The first bonnus round (Level 2) triggers often. For me it would say at the moment all 10-50 spins. The second level paid so far for me everything between 5$ and 50$... Of about 20 rounds i only got once to the hive (3 level) and endet up with 50$ total.

But it's interesting. I have to say NetEnt is creative enough to never bore me too much :)

Hmmmm... VERY interesting!
Apart from the fact that "Aliens" is possibly my favourite film of all time (maybe just 2nd to Terminator 2), this slots looks good after my first 100 or so spins.

Logged in to Betsafe to find €5 in there (looks like a free-chip I knew nothing about), so started playing on min bets of 15c (yeah - EEEEK!).
Did OK and got up to over €8, so upped bets to 45c. First time I completed Level 2 and made it to the nest, and even though I only got half way to killing the queen, I won a bit over bet x100!
Didn't get a screenshot because I had it on auto-play and hadn't set a "big win stop" :(

So far, so good...

.

Thanks for feedback

I haven't played it yet as I am struggling with a stupid throat infection these days but will probably do some spins on it during the weekend.

The mobile version (Aliens Touch) is live at CasinoEuro.

Not normally a big Net Ent fan because of the oft-mentioned variance issues but must say this game looks aesthetically fantastic. Might just have to give it a try.

Unfortunately Betsafe don't seem to have a Full Screen mode - I can't wait to play somewhere that does!

Game won't upload because "graphics hardware acceleration is not activated" - but it is, in every browser I use. Is there someone who can help?

I had a similar problem in Chrome, it said "Unsupported computer graphics hardware detected". But i found that it worked perfectly in Firefox and Internet Explorer, have you tried any of those?

After updating my graphics card drivers it now works correctly in chrome as well.

So if you Right Click flash animation, select Settings, there is cross in the box next to "Enable hardware acceleration"?

If updating graphic card drivers doesn't work for some reason, then also turning off the Chrome's own flash can help.

Chrome has 2 flash versions at chrome://plugins/ , Chrome's own PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll and generic Flash Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_13_0_0_182.dll , having both of them running at the same time can cause issues, disabling PepperFlash on my older pc and using just Macromed\Flash also fixed this "Unsupported computer graphics hardware detected" issue.

Found a 25Euro loyality bonus from Betsafe  and tried the Aliens slot.

I like it. Superb graphics and great sound effects.

Easy to reach level2, unfortunately my marines are not in a good mood today and died mostly really quick.

One time I managed to reach level 3, win was 5.75 on a 0.15 bet, which is 38x my bet. Had some other level 2 wins, highest was 4.80 on a 0.15 bet.

I would say it`s a low to medium variance slot. Played more than 1000 spins and lost 1.50 Euro. No big wins for me but also no endless dead spins. A slot that can entertain me for a long time.

Will definately play Aliens again.

Now my first big hit, 25.55 on a 0.15 bet. 170x, not too bad.

I gave this a spin on minimum stakes. The first 2 Alien films are awesome and I so so wanted to like this slot. It looks fantastic but gameplay is truly dire not to mention very confusing and frustrating. Payouts are criminally low and the speed of play was awful. All that first person walking down the corridor nonsense just drags out the nightmare on the rare occasions that I can actually reach that stage. Maybe it is possible to hit some decent wins on this and I will be keeping an eye out for winning screenshots on here.
All I can say is with a film license like this, how on earth could NetEnt get it so so badly wrong.

Thanks Blathon and Finn, but I can't seem to find the flash animation settings. In Firefox as well as in Chrome hardware acceleration HAS BEEN enabled, but the message still pops up that it hasn't. And where are the graphic card drivers? Oh well, I will have someone take a look at it soon. Can't miss this game!

As Finn said just right click on the game and then make sure that hardware acceleration is enabled.

As for the drivers that depends on whether you have Nvidia or AMD, either way just go to their respective websites and you will find the drivers, they even have auto detect tools if you don't know what graphics card you have.

Yes, having tried this I found it plays like Fisticuffs with a few guns thrown in. Definitely low variance I'd say, but with the typical Netent factor of dragging your balance down to a level where you'll not recover from then teasing you with a little run which almost recovers your stake. Typical new Netent - great visuals and sounds but scrape them away and the game is awful underneath and soon becomes extremely tedious. At least the Aliens don't shout 'cowabunga' and the soldiers don't scream 'AMPED-TOTALLY AMPED'...........

Ok so i played it with 200€ at 0.90€ bets, and to me it seems like there is quite a few things that need to happen before you can even win anything at all.

The base game is completely dead most of the time due to the collection mechanic of the game, whereby you have to collect 9 symbols to get to the bonus round, all symbols in a win except for wilds count towards that and every spin without a win deducts one symbol from the progress bar.

When you do win, the symbols that made up the winning combination are added to the progress bar and you get multipliers for the symbols that are added. So to win anything decent you will need to get several wins that consist of high paying symbols to get the multiplier going and then hope to either hit a win with that symbol again or get the 9 symbols required to go to the bonus game, and then hope that your marine survives long enough that you get to the spin with the symbols that have the multiplier AND THEN hopefully get a winning combination.

The other way to win something is to get to the bonus game and then have your marine survive all 10 alien encounters to get to the queen AND then kill her for a decent 240xBet win, and there is no guarantee that you manage to kill her when you get there.

So this means that you will never get a big win out of the blue, several things have to happen before that become possible which means that the game isn't all that exciting.

The game claims that the max win is 570000 coins which would be 570000(max win in coins)/150(max bet in coins)=3800xBet

Anyway sorry for the long post, here is a video of my session.
I don't expect anyone to watch the whole thing as it's pretty boring, maybe watch a few minutes and skip around to get an idea of how the game works if you haven't tried it for yourself yet.

Wow it is even worse watching someone else play it. Fair play to you for sticking that out for an hour with no decent wins. It really does highlight what a long drawn out process it is with no reward. I can see that theoretically you could get some decent multipliers on the high symbols but with the clearly predetermined nature of the ammunition reloading I can see that becoming VERY frustrating.

Imagine you get a 7x multiplier on the highest pay symbol only to find you run out of ammo just before getting to that stage. Sure you would accumulate maybe 10x bet in scraps along the way but dangling the carrot like that over such a long time frame with no reward would make me lose my cool. It would be like wild desire on IR only taking about 60 times longer to obtain your mediocre (at best) win.

Thanks for uploading this though as that video really does put the nail in the coffin in it for me.

Even though NetEnt released some games lately that I truly despised, I have to admit that they built the best games portfolio
in the business. If nothing else, they cannot be accused of just cloning their successful slot.

I like Aliens, and not just because I had a good session. The first bonus stage triggers so often it feels like a part of the game,
the Hive would be the real bonus round (and to be fair I don`t see myself getting to the end anytime soon)
Most good wins came from the lower paying symbols with some reasonable multiplier.

+ Looks fantastic
+ Quickspin IS quick
+ Frequent bonus rounds
+ Min bet 0.15

- Low/Middle variance, so not that exciting

And once again the bonus is triggered with consecutive wins (see Reel Rush, Big Bang, Elements etc.).
This is something that I find both exciting and frustrating, but somehow to a lesser extent with Aliens.

Your description here reminds me of the expression "You can't polish a turd!!".

I've trudged through another 90 minutes on it. It is appalling, dreadful.
When I tested TFTUT to see how many features I needed to get through to flush the turd and get the 10 extra spins, IIRC it took 130 features. Saying that, even without flushing the turd just ONE spin with sticky wilds can yield a good return. Not on this bastard.
I lost count of how many times I got to 7,8 or 9 from the 10 aliens only to mysteriously run out of ammo clips on the gimped ammo belt graphic.
I never got to level 2 which as Blaothon says guarantees bugger-all anyway. The base game is awful and effectively plays like Big Bang, where you need several consecutive wins to advance anywhere. The alien attack goes on far too long, the best I got was 78x stake on it and I deserved it for enduring the marine emptying 8 magazines into the scorpions which began to give me a headache.

The alien attack idea is just a way of providing 3-100x stake with a lot of f*cking noise and commotion, the same range of wins as you could get quicker and without a headache on any other game on the basic reels. Again, a great idea but the execution is terrible and personally I find it hard to endure for long almost to the point of it being unplayable. If you are an epileptic, seriously I would avoid watching that stupid progression bar above the reels go up and down in the corner of your eye for too long.

I swear I'll never play a real credit in this game ever. It's execrable.:(

I will agree with you that overall NetEnt have a very good games portfolio, and as you said they at least try to do new things with their slots.

Of course that means that some people will like them and others won't, which is fine. That should mean that over time they can offer something for everyone which i suppose is their goal.

The game looks nice, but it just doesn't do much for me. Clearly i was unlucky in my first session and i always expect to lose so that's not a problem, but the way the game works means that for me it isn't exciting there is too much of a setup before you even have a chance to win something.

IMO the frequency of the feature does the game a disservice as you have to watch the same exact corridor scene over and over again.

This pretty much sums up my feelings about it as well, i think you sometimes are a bit overly negative about NetEnt slots but this one really deserves the Dunover takedown.

i never got to the queen in my first session but i have played a bit in free play today and got there a few times, haven't managed to kill her yet though. And the best feature i've seen so far was about 130xBet.

So Dunover i think i am not alone in wondering what will you name this slot? :D they made it tricky for you this time since it's just one word.

Dunover you have a way with words which always make me laugh.:lolup:

I just said the game sucks which it does. I have now given up looking forward to the new games because they are guaranteed to disappoint.
