Howdy,

I've been playing 888 for quite some time. I know they are not ranked very highly here but I've enjoyed some good runs with them.

I received an email from them stating that they are dropping the Marvel slots. Here is the email:
Dear xxxxx,

Our superheroes must fly, but a new adventure is about to begin...

It's with a tear in our eye that we must bid farewell to Marvel superheroes - Hulk, Fantastic Four, Thor and Spiderman, from January 15.

Don't worry though, we've got some other exciting comic book themed games planned for release in the coming months!

In the meantime, why not take this opportunity to get reacquainted with our fantastic range of jackpot games: make your wishes come true with the ever popular Millionaire Genie, scare yourself rich with A Nightmare on Elm Street or cash in on the Leprechaun's Luck!

Play Now

Best wishes,
VIP Department

I've asked my VIP rep for a little more detail but I've not gotten any answer from them yet. Anyone here would know the reason why? Is there a reason for concern about continuing playing at 888 or any of their affiliates?

I don't play at 888 - but I assume those slots are the Playtech ones, are they?
If so, it's because you live in Canada.

I don't think living in Canada is the issue, unless it's only 888 blocking Canadians from it.

Playtech didn't pull out of Canada, the title should be changed on that thread you linked, it was only one company (Euro Partners) and I think they ended up reversing that decision.

I haven't heard anything about not being able to play Marvel slots, so I would just assume it's a license issue with 888, maybe they didn't feel like renewing it.

I'll check again tomorrow, but as of today (Jan. 14th) they are still available to me at Bet365.

Do 888 have the Cryptologic ones? If so, my bet would be on licensing.

If it's the Playtech ones, that's a bit odd as my understanding was that Playtech was going to do a set of replacements and the licence doesn't expire for a couple of years afaik.
