Posting this on my g/f behalf. She signed up to 888 and she was given 8 free spins and they told her if she deposit she would be given a 20 more free spins in the chat window, anyway she told the guy she think about it, she was told she had 7 days to take offer up. She went on today and made a small deposit and played the money and bonus out. which went quick, I warned her about 888 as i had played there myself a few months back and never liked them, They have very tight slots. (and it was not same house hold just incase anyone wondering) I have my own place. anyway, she never recieved the free spins promissed, she contacted chat and they told her she had to deposit again to receive the free spins, she told them she already did, and they said they need her to deposit again threw chat to receive these free spins. Anyway, she had enouth of them and asked for her account closed because it was misleading what they had told her at the start, The guy host then cut the chat off, She was not happy when he done that, how rude can u get. Anyway, she contact them again and got threw to someone else and she asked for account closed.

She made the stupid mistake of using her main email address, she has gotten tons of spam mail from 888, and from other casinos. since signing up there.

I was happy in one way as i warned her and that will teach her to not listen to me, But i wanted to share the story here so members can be aware of how low 888 has got and how crooked they have become. They were begging for money left right and center, look at there casino when u sign up, and what happens when u go into the cashier. all helpful and nice when they want to help u deposit and soon as u tell them u r not happy and want account closed, they hang up on u.

advoid like the plague...

888 should be in the rogue pit. They are not honest or fair. misleading adverts in the mail box and lies told on the chat. and there games leave alot to be desired as to the payout. very verry very tight.

Calling a casino "scammers and liars" in your thread title is an obvious attempt to do them harm, which is not in the spirit of the Forum Rules.

Thread title changed to reflect what I understand is your real issue with them.

Nice. It's a wonder you let her out of the kitchen

Why didn't she create her own account and tell the story herself?

You are giving us second-hand information - is there any record of the chat? Maybe your girlfriend was being rude herself? CSR should be able to cut off a chat if they are being sworn at or insulted, but we don't know because she isn't here to tell us.

It is also a good lesson in always asking for promotion offers in writing. The previous CSR may well have said 'make sure you come to chat after you deposit to get your free spins', and your girlfriend missed it. Who knows? Some casinos will only award free spins before you start playing with the deposit, and will only award one promotion with one deposit (you said she also received a bonus on her deposit).

The SPAM is disgraceful I agree. You should report it to your ISP.

I only said what is true. They lied and gived false information and then tried to act like my g/f was stupid.

They are scammers in my eyes, That is my Opinion...

Becasue i use the forum and she dont and i decided to post the info, She did not. Only posted the info so people can be ware of the tricks this casino uses. A heads up for other people if they decide to play there to be aware.

The only thing she said that could be concidered rude, Was they are dishonest and tricksters. But only when she typed she wanted account closed was the chat hang up.

When she first signed up, she was gived 8 free spins, Then after the 8 free spins a chat window pop up and says click here to claim your winning and other free spins and bonus.

The guy in chat says soon as she made a deposit she would recieve a bonus match and 20 more free spins. and she said she would think about it, he said she had 7 days before offer was no longer available. She then decided to give them a try even thou i had told her not to waste her time. this was within 5 days. She got the deposit match and she went ahead and played the money threw. then contacted support to see were the free spins was.

They said she was supposed to click on the chat window and make the deposit whille in chat before they could add free spins. Funny how the guy she talked to on the day of sign up never said this to her. He said soon as she deposited, it would auto be added.

Anyway, They said deposit now and we will add your free spin, She told them she already deposit and so why cant they just not add them now as that was the information she was told. They just repeated the same stupid line over and over, deposit now and we will add them knowing fine rightly the offer is on first deposit only. She already made first depost and yet they were asking her to deposit again to get the free spins, which would void any wins if she ever managed to get any wins with there tight ass casino.

And if they could act like this and not give the simple free spins which was not every line on the slot also, God knows what they be like if she did win something and wanted to withdraw, They cant honor their own offers and pull every stop out of the book not to give it and offer a offer knowing fine righting that would void wins. The free spin was on first deposit only and they knew she made the first deposit and want her to deposit again to get them, we all know what rubbish they would have pulled if she won big.

Begging for money is probably a bit harsh for a business that turns over a few billion a year. They're an online Casino, they're bound to encourage you to deposit.

Don't know about the free spins thing, I'd just send them an email asking for a full explanation, Live Chat means you deal with first line support who often don't fully understand the mechanics of a promotion and have no decision making ability when it comes to common sense.

As for the spam - yes, they do like the send button, but just unsubscribe or report it as spam, they will soon learn to cool it when their deliverability drops

It would be interesting if the rep from 888 would give a comment here. My feeling is that there is more to the story than we have heard.

I just think that people lose some reliability when they are clearly "angry" and uses words like "scammers and liars".

For example, if a customer contacts the CS with a very bad attitude, then he or she is difficult to handle. And misunderstandings might happens.

Contact Me

Hi There HadEnouth,

Can you please have your girlfriend contact me through one of the contact methods on my profile. I will try my best to help and see what the issue was. I'm sorry you feel this way about 888, but from the sound of it there was some miscommunication.

In regards to the spam, we were once bad with the spamming but have now changed. I can assure that the emails that were sent were not spammy, they were only the regular conversion emails that every other casino will send if you have not deposited, that's how online casinos work.

Again I will be more than happy to try and help your girlfriend out, but I will need to speak with her and not anyone else on her behalf.

Kind Regards,
Rachel

This is one of the reasons WHY the 888 brand has so many people prepared to believe the worst. You WERE passing out our details to "spammers", and then when challenged said you were not guilty.

There have been numerous other issues where players have been lead into a trap by CS agents agreeing to something, but there being no records kept, and the agreement suddenly being voided, usually when the player wins.

This story seems to suggest that nothing has changed YET, even if the intention is to "clean up your act".

One of the problems is that you may be passing players' 888 email address to your "white label" operators, who then try to get the player to sign up. This produces a load of mailers for casinos that are NOT the one signed up as, and are not obviously anything to do with 888.

This is then yet another trap for players, as actually RESPONDING to these invitations, and signing up at "too many" white label operations has lead to players having their winnings confiscated.

In this case, the CS agent said the spins were available on the next deposit, but did NOT say how to claim them, leaving the player to think it would "just happen".

In all honesty, it SHOULD "just happen", this is 2011 for goodness sake!

To make matters worse, it's "talk to the hand" time when this player subsequently tries to sort out the problem, and she decides "enough is enough", and asks that her account be closed. The advice from her boyfriend, that initially she was prepared to ignore and see for herself, having been VINDICATED.
Then, it seems CS are just not interested, and far from closing her account, just cut her off. This IS rude, casinos MUST close an account when requested - it is one of the "golden rules".
If CS cannot close an account through chat, they should say so, and advise how it has to be done, rather than just terminate the chat.

For the sake of 20 free spins, ones initially promised by chat, and which otherwise the player would not have known about, they have now lost a customer. This is bad for the company's "bottom line", irrespective of what players think about this story.

I think with the fact Ladbrokes are looking to acquire 888, that they ( 888 ) have over the past year or so cleaned up their act considerably.

I have visited certain erotic sites online (for many known as "porn") at some occasions. Pornography is one of the biggest industry in the world, so I am not ashamed okei :)

But anyway. I am wondering why 888.com often comes up as "sponsors" of these sites. It has happens several times that a link is opened automatic and an "special offer" from 888.com has appeared, with a link to their "main site".

I do not visit these kinds of site very often, so with my limited visiting time, we can only imagine how many "porn-sites" that 888.com is sponsoring. My question is why do 888.com wants to be connected to these kinds of sites?

I have never seen a big casino, except 888.com who wants to be profiled like this.

My thought is that a serious casino would not be connected to these kinds of erotic sites. I might be wrong. Maybe it is quite normal in the business for all I know. But I have never seen casinos like Centrebet, Unibet, 3Dice, 32Red or any other big and serious casinos be linked with porn.

Generally, this way of promoting a casino is a warning signal in my opinion.

I also believe it is ILLEGAL under the gambling regulations of many jurisdictions to use SEX to sell gambling. As the say in the drinks trade "don't mix your drinks" or you will suffer one HELL of a hangover, this is a case of "Don't mix your VICES". None of the main vices should use another to promote itself.

I would expect Ladbrokes to end these arrangements pretty soon, so better enjoy that PORN before the sites run out of money, and disappear;)

hehe...it has already been enjoyed....indeed :D

Well, I don`t want to be known as the PornMeister in this forum :), I just thought that the ethical side of the issue is a bit interesting. Especially if it also raises questions about legality as you did mention.

Glad the rep came on to try and help, I ask my g/f to come on and try and sort this out, But she wants nothing more to do with them, and she admitted to me that she was rude more than she let on to me, But she says the chat was only hang up after asking account closed, Regardsless of how rude she got, Which of course is never the best way to sort problems out, It dont change the fact that they lied or gived wrong info and then acted stupid when she tried to sort problem out, she said she got rude only after seeing there were not helping or even understanding what she was trying to tell them. She informed them that she already made the first deposit and the offer was only on the first deposit, so them asking her to deposit again to get them would mean she was breaking T&C if she took them making a second deposit. Becasue that would mean, she was given frees spins for the second deposit and not first.

I am sure there was maybe some misunderstanding, But she said that she explained everything to them and she felt they were not listening becasue there response was the same, They wanted more money before they would fix the problem.

As she dont want to come on and make a account to talk to the rep, The case is Closed.

I really do hope 888 clean there act up thou.

Most of the porn sites have affiliate deals with 888 from days gone by, I doubt they push this like they used to. Back in the days when both were considered 'taboo' they were just hedging their bets - if you don't want the porn, try the Casino instead. Similar demographic of people, so it made sense.

Either that or 888 have the worst link buyers in the world
