IIt is normal for bank to have weekend off, so my dad is after hard working all week as a GP Dr at his clinic centre.
That analogy is just wrong. This is a casino, who operates 24 hours a day!
You live in Adelaide right?
A similar scenario would be Skycity Casino who also operates 24/7. Patrons are told the cage will now close at 5pm sharp on Friday and not re-open till 9am Monday, unless there is a public holiday, then it will re-open the next business day.
While this wont affect VIP high rollers; they usually always get paid by EFT to their nominated bank account. And as you've stated, and as we all know, banks don't work weekends. The biggest impact this decision would have is on those players who rely on the "cage" to exchange their chips for cash.
Weekends are usually the times when a casino makes its most money. Instead of making sure players (other than high rollers) receive their winnings, they, in this scenario, Skycity, have gone out of their way, to make it impossible, for players to obtain their winnings on the weekend.
What is the out-come when players are unable to withdrawal their winnings for an extended period? A % reverse their winnings and play it all back.
How Pat or 32Red see this decision as "enhancements", when clearly it is a disadvantage to players who use e-Wallets, is out of my scope of understanding.
What is in my scope of understanding, IMPO this is nothing more than veiled ploy to corral weekend winners. Knowing full well a % of these weekend winners will get itchy fingers, reverse winnings they normally would have received to e-Wallets and play these back into the waiting hands of 32Red.
Passing thought. The right business decision is not always the correct or ethical road to travel.
