I am Canadian. I heard so much good about GUTS that I wanted to try it. I went to deposit and found that they charge 2.5% fee to use my Mastercard gift card...what???? Never heard of that before. So if I used my 50 dollar card, I would actually only get 36 dollars.......thats 14 dollars I lose before I even get into the casino to play...Was so disappointed....Maybe someday when I get rich and famous I will get to try GUTS Casino...just saying.........................

You must be playing in EURO?? The 14 less is mostly due to the exchange rate from CAD to EURO. 50 CAD is about 37 EURO (then minus 1 for the exchange fee).

My math isn't that great, but by my reckoning 2.5% of $50 is only $1.25.

I didn't know some people had to pay to play there. I thought it was just a fixed % for withdrawals.

Not ok in my eyes and I'm happy it's not for Neteller, which I thought was more expensive for casinos.
From Canada I assume you have no choice since you can't use webwallets at all, or do you have any of that kind?

Lets face it, transactions costs money. Casinos will either get them from higher WRs etc, making all the customers pay the same ammount for each $ they gamble, or they may do as Guts and charge us for each transaction so we pay for what we use. I think their system is fair, and if MC is a bit more expencive to process than Visa I think its ok you get charged for it.

    hmm

    I am from the UK

They also charge me 2.5% to use ANY card, I use my visa debit but I do find this irritating. 50p on every £20. You would think the amount they make they could cover that one..

I made a suggestion to the management at Guts about it and they are looking into ways to make depositing "fee free."
    But don't hold your breath.

There is so much inconsistency over this in the industry. It seems some casinos are actively pushing players over to using cards in preference to wallets such as Neteller, and here we have a casino doing the push in the opposite direction by "punishing" card users, even DEBIT card users!

Most casinos treat the costs of processing deposits as overheads. They have done this as charges put players off depositing. Some have charged players for withdrawals, perhaps thinking that by moving the charge to the point at which a player has probably beaten the house and has no choice other than to play on and lose it back, they player will make less of a fuss.

Shops in general do not charge a percentage on top of the price for using cards as the LAST thing they want is to move people back to paying cash for everything, leaving them with overflowing tills and back office safes, and both the risks and costs of then having to take the day's takings to the bank. The worst I have seen are that some small shops will only take cards for transactions over £5 so that the cost is not an undue proportion of the amount of the transaction.

If I remember correctly, GUTS changed the fee policy last year. Before that it was free to deposit.
So to honor the agreement with customers which had signed up before the new policy of taking fees got implented, got to still have no-fee deposits further on.

There is one way I know of to deposit without fees from Guts specifically and that's through Skrill.
But then you get hit by withdrawal fees from Skrill.

    'Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately we are paying also quite high fees for each withdrawal to the payment provider so we are really not able to cut down at the moment on these. We do however feel that our freespins without wagering requirements and our Guts Comps that we give out on regularly has been more valuable for our players and they seem to appreciate this to compensate the current fees we have now in place.'

    No idea...

    I don't think they like me :(

I don't spend tonnes and tonnes on their site, but when I mentioned other players here have no fees I was told they might be management decisions and they cannot discuss so have a nice day.

The explanation above about it being older players makes some sense.

Ah well. Will just use the sites that do not charge :)

    (Basically all the others)

I have had quite a few comp chips of them, I have asked for them but only after a bad session, I dont ask for free chips from any other casino I play it but that is because I get cashback in the way of red rubies etc

Maybe it is a management decision, I think thats fair enough really, and I do agree they give out a lot of free spins so I am happy with that, and TBH it does not bother me paying fees when I withdraw

I asked Ben once and got a no. I never ask again :D

I thought it might be something new they had with comp points or so, but then it wasn't.
I still like them and play there so I don't mind. I only pay for withdrawals and I can live with that.
