Hello folks!
In file attached you can find an argument why we cannot win playing European Roulette. It's just my poor effort. Waiting your answers and comments. Thank you! :)

I dont have a degree in mathematics but I would say we cannot win on any roulette table because of the 0 or the 1 in 37 house edge. The calculations just confuse.

To put it in English, I would say that for every 37 bets, one is a free spin for the house:)

I got as far as:

xi event i,
pi probability of event i,
К general quantity of events, which forms full group

...and gave up.

All I know is when my number doesn't come in, I don't win - hehe.

are your sure about the math...and well...are you sure about posting this..?? as this looks much more like the mathematic proof about my chances getting scarlett johannsen somewhere near my bedroom.

ops...darling....nono i didn`t wrote those lines....really.
sorry guys i have to go. no more pc tonight and tomorrow - the yearly routine-visit at my mother-in-laws`house:eek::eek::eek:

You can probably say the same for most casino games, since they have negative expected value in the long run.
I disagree with that; not probably and not most casino games - ALL casino games.
Casinos only exist to make money - not to give it away!
If you keep playing any one casino game continuously you will lose - no matter what to do.
But if you use bonuses & switch between games...

Dang SlotMonster, this is Friday man...I opened that up and got all dizzy because my head started spinning and I saw flashbacks from one of those college math classes that my wife had to get me thru...oh jeeze...I think I need to lay down...all those math symbols brings back nightmares from my earlier years...

This looks like one for Zoozie to decipher....:notworthy

*waves gun around* NO NO NO I WILL NOT TAKE ANOTHER STATS CLASS!

But anyways,

Summary: size of optimal bankroll negative value, so, playing European Roulette, your total balance will tent to zero. And, soon or later, youll lose.

Can't the same be said for _any_ casino game?

Simple answer is YES !

What you calculated in the file was obvious already. But you could try to calculate a more interesting question:

1. Given that you take 100$ to Roulette and make 5$ even money bets, what is the probability that you will never exceed your starting balance (100$) at any point?

2. Same question as before but now you double your bet after losing two times in a row (ie.bet 5$,5$,10$,20$,40$... until you win).

I think you have over-engineered it. It is enough to show that you can never make a bet with positive expectation, which is something similiar to your table for the different bet variations. Your best bets on European roulette are the single chances, like red or black, in which your expected value is -0.0135*your bet, because you get back half of your wager in case of zero.
Now no matter what kind of bet you make, your expected value is less or equal to (EV) = c*w, where c<0 and w>0 is your total wager.
And if w goes to +infinity, EV is always negative.

Now I'm thinking the same

No, mate you're a bit wrong. All you said is about French Roulette (not about European Roulette at all).

But in any case, thank you :) BTW, I have won about 6k playing Live Roulette at Bet365 casino (IMO one of the best I've ever seen) and made total profit about 14k from online playing last year. You can see my post here...

So my winnings is just luck he he

You're right, i'm not a roulette expert. :)
However it holds in general, more precisely you need to take the best bet's expectation as a constant c<0, then c*w will be an upper threshold of your EV for all kind of possible bets, and c*w will go the -infinity as w goes to +infinity, so every combination of bets will go to -infinity as well.

Roulette is beatable. This is something we've been known for years here. All you need is the Hood 3000 system. The inventor as you can see in this video is pure genius and certainly can inspire you for great wins
