Why don't Players tell the Affiliate that they join a gaming site by them?

I like to ask a crazy question.
How come when someone joins a place to gamble threw an Affiliate they never tell them that they joined by you.
I have many that never said a word to me as of yet.Is it because they don't want anyone to know?
I think it is crazy. And I bet if the Affiliate knew the player they could get more things for the player in the long run.

Thanks

good post - affiliate sites could have some kind of logging system where players notify them which sites they have joined. That way, loyalty bonuses etc could be given

That would be cool.
The only thing I know is what the users site name and that's it.& where they are.I would love to know who joined the place by me.
And maybe help them out even better also. With some extra perks for them. It's all in who you know.

I understand your sentiment, but I don't think it will ever happen.
I've joined loads of sites through CM's links, but never told him.
A few people have told me when they joined through my site, but it's only a small proportion of the total.
It is very nice to know, but not terribly important at the end of the day.

There's an interesting point here. I am sure that affiliates could do more for their players if there was some system in place to notify.

I know casinos don't really like affiliates knowing the players as obviously it means they can continue to market other casinos to them, but with the advent of slots tournaments and the lack of clarity on loyalty promotions, the affiliate could provide ongoing information, even competitions, to a player that they might otherwise have missed.

This could work two ways obviously and in theory could be a good partnership.

What you probably have to remember though is that:

a) a lot of newer players probably aren't aware that they are going through an affiliate link
b) casino tracking systems work differently so there is no guarantee that a link is a affiliation (depending on how/when the player first visited the casino)
c) a lot of players probably would prefer not to go through an affiliate link, although if there were "added value" then maybe that would change

A lot of affiliates give the concept a bad name IMO. Dodgy casinos, incorrect information and a general money-for-nothing-sod-the-consequences approach.

There ought to be a regulatory system in place for affiliates too IMO, though who would actually police that?! Maybe there's some scope for having a site where players vote in or vote out affiliates...kinda self-regulation...dunno...maybe.

Like the idea though BingoT

Yes, it seems a great idea and could ensure a strong partnership.

CPA would definately fail but on the MGR system I could imagine it could be great for player, affiliate and the sites.

I love the idea but I really dont think it could ever happen

Affiliates

Hi folks,

Just so you know - all affiliates with any reputable casino/poker/ sportsbook is given realtime data about which players they refer and how much they win/ lose etc.

The affiliates have all the information, however most don't do anything with this data - they seem to be just happy to get the CPA commision or the net Rev and don't even bother to try and incentisise the players they have referred - seems ludicrous to me, especially the affiliates who get revenue from players's play!

Best regards,

Dazzla

This is not the case unfortunately.

That's not true actually. The affiliates are given no personal data about the player, aside from maybe an ID they can use for tracking and in some cases games data/country of origin. The casinos don't want the affiliates to know player identifications for obvious reasons, plus of course it would be a breach of data privacy. The affiliates therefore cannot "incentivise" an existing player unless they has also created their own opt-in mailing list.

Simmo

Dear Simmo,

Well how would I know, seeing as I've worked in online gaming the last 10 years!

The affiliates are given the data - though not personal data i.e. address etc, and it up to the affiliate how they manage this data!

Some merchants provide more data than others.....if the affiliate actually for once requested specific data then most mercahnts would provide this!

Best regards,

Dazzla

Thanks all of you for all the great feedback on this.

To tell you the truth I rather not have any of the players personal data because of the privacy of that player. And I feel if the player does not want me to contact them or know their business. It's none of my business for the privacy of that player. All I'm saying is if the player wants the affiliate to know who they are that would be cool. And I would do the best I can to help that player maybe get more for the buck for them.
In the past the only info I got was the players Email & what they won or lost.
and that's it.And on that note it's not my business to Email any of them if they don't tell me.who they are in the first place.
I would love to stay in contact with anyone I have that joined by me.
Because I'm the type of guy that would do or try to do the most for that player. Most affiliates are only thinking of one thing.

Thanks all of you for all the great feedback on this.
Have A Great And Lucky Day To All.

OK sorry...I'll rephrase that. No reputable casino would give an affiliate data that allowed them to contact a player.

I can't vouch for what happens on the "dark side" but if what you are implying is true, it's another reason not to stray from the accredited list.

Yes I total agree with the privacy issue but still feel the affiliate stats fall well below par & often hinder affiliates in their efforts. I have more of an issue with tracking, but that is nothing new.

I would still like to offer the players I signup to a site a more personal touch over and above my websites, that would help them, myself & ensure loyalty to the site but in hindsight I can see how many unscrupulous affiliates could damage relations

Yes I agree. I have never seen personal details of any players through my sites.
The most you get is part of an account number eg tspr*****32, or part of a name; John S.
I have never seen more than this & certainly no e-mail addresses!

And I agree with BingoT, I'd rather NOT have this info as I feel it would undermine the players confidentially with the casino. I personally would never abuse such info, but I'm afraid that sadly there are some unscrupulous characters in this world who would.

I know a lot of players who never even realised affiliates existed let alone what they could do for them.
ok, if i went to one of bingots links and joined a casino what would it do for me verses me just joining on my own? i dont think i understand what an affiliate means could someone explain in laymans terms how this could benifit the player.

It depends on the affiliate, there are reputable ones and rogues just like the casinos.

Reputable affiliates will eliminate casinos they have no recourse with from their sites, and the casinos know this and respond in order to keep their spots.

So in effect the reputable affiliate has the power to fix things between the player and the casino.

Also, good affiliate sites contain a lot of updated info. If no one used their links, all the free info sites would disappear.

Usually you can recognize a bad affiliate site in that they don't provide anything to you other than links. In other words, they don't work for their money, they just slap some stuff on a site hoping that you'll click.

So if you like the provided resources, and you want additional insurance, you want to use the affiliate link. It costs you nothing and you are supporting the free info that is provided. I see it kind of as a vote for the free work the affiliate does for the community. If you don't think it's useful, don't click on it.

IMO, if one uses the hospitality of a site like casinomeister, using the links here is a way of showing support and contributing to the continued existance of that site.

Thanks for the explanation Dominique. Though I joined a couple of casinos from G&C (you're welcome:)) in the past, I didn't know what an affiliate was or did before I came to Meisterland. I can't remember how I found your website, probably googled 'online casino reviews' or some such.

Many, if not most, of the affiliates that post here have excellent websites with very useful info... it's just that the average player doesn't know s/he is actually assisting another business transaction when they click-thru an affiliate's site just sitting 'out there' on the web. And it doesn't matter really in most cases, as it doesn't affect the player in the least.

And I agree completely: If you find info valuable, by all means click through the forum or website's links. hint hint (join any new casinos from https://www.casinomeister.com/accredited-casinos/ if you want to support casinomeister.com)
