I'm going to let you in on a secret that I only worked out after 20 years of marriage. The last 5 years have been great because I discovered the 'holy grail' and I am going to let you know it for free!
I've got to say I'm a little slow and you may already be way ahead of me so don't laugh if you worked it out earlier than I did. (like maybe 5 minutes into your relationship)
Women love romance and the best way into a loving or at least less turbulant relationship is to write them "teary" (some will say soppy) poetry and/or songs.
I wrote this one 5 years ago and although very 'soppy' it is the best thing I ever did for my 'getting on the good side' of the little lady. I even put it too music for extra bonus points.
Once I was alone with something called power
My life was measured in deals by the hour
I had it all, at least that’s what I thought
Anything worthwhile can easily be bought
Then an angel from heaven came into my life
And I realised m y life had been nothin’ but strife
Happiness isn’t money, houses or gold
But a beautiful woman to love and to hold
My darlin’ I will love you all of my life
And I’d just like to thank you for being my wife.
I could never see the beauty of the waves
As they crashed ov’r the rocks in a mystical haze
Walking barefoot in the sand was always a chore
Poor value for money was all that I saw
Then my princess she showed me the world thru her eyes
And I saw it at last without the disguise
Happiness isn’t money, houses or gold
But a beautiful woman to love and to hold
My darlin’ I will love you all of my life
And I’d just like to thank you for being my wife.
