what happened to all the members? i remember membership had breached 10000, but now it shows only 7767. perhaps the higher figure was total registrations, but this would mean 2233+ are no longer with us (spammers/banned/booted/quit)? i know bryan just went on vacation, but this seemed like the right place to post, since it isn't feedback or casino-related, but also not wildly irrelevant either. anyone feel free to hypothesize or if you know something i don't then pipe up, please. cheers,

possibly some type of correlation between members that have AOL e-mail addresses and the announcement he recently posted about members with AOL e-mail addresses. As you requested, nothing more than a hypothesis.............Of course, it could be us children have run off almost 25% of the normal................I will see if I can find a map.:D

I agree with Nash... probably related to Bryan's announcement above re: AOL.

Casinomeister has recently received a few complaints from AOL that it is sending out spam. These complaints have stemmed from a few members who had placed Casinomeister emails into their "spam" box thus generating these complaints.

I have decided to disallow AOL email addresses to be used for registration. Also, members who have AOL email addresses listed in their profile need to replace this with a real email address. Just a heads up.

Remember - friends don't let friends AOL

Any suggestions on the easiest way to obtain another e-mail account for simply the purpose of this forum. Do not really know all the possibilities since I have been w/ AOHELL since Gore invented the internet. Thus, I really have never been concerned with the other possibilities..........thought I have seen where e-mail address's are available and relatively hassle free by going to a web site, not sure though. If so ,are they reliable,etc.................these questions are directed to anyone with suggestions,TIA....................Mousey, your siggy that I just noticed is cracking me up,not so much the quote but Jim Morrison making a half coherent statement:thumbsup:

Gmail is great I can send you an invitation if you PM me your a-ole addy or you can just go to
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
(msn sux) you can use totally irelevent info so as not to be 'profiled' if you prefer anonyms

I use Hotmail (I guess it's MSN Live or some such chit nowadays) or Yahoo email for most everything online. They're more reliable than my ISP mail ( and my email is still there even if my computer crashes) and they filter out spam better than my ISP mail.

Gmail, as Lojo mentioned, seems to work ok, too. Invites abound if they still require it to sign up.

I've have had a Yahoo! email account for years just as a backup or in the early years when travelling - never had a problem and it has improved steadily with unlimited storage space now.

I think at some point Bryan announced that you could not register a Yahoo or hotmail e-mail address, but you could keep it if you already had it registered.

bryan's back! hugs and kisses and beers all round! careful when kissing t_b, not only might he like it, but he's also quite bristly

Actually, I purged all members who haven't signed in for the past 18 months. That's all :D
So do members with an existing AOHELL address need new providers and if so is that required to remain a member or can we chose to just not have a new e-mail address(and not receive e-mail any longer) but remain a dues paying member in good standing?:D:confused:................not sure what the hell I just asked, hopefully it makes sense,TIA.

You can still maintain your AOL email address, but you should switch this out with another in the near future. Hotmail, gmail are all fine - AOL is a no-go.

The reason for this is that a number of members have placed Casinomeister emails into their trash/spam bin, and I get AOL complaints. I received 12 last week - Casinomeister emails reported as spam which is BS (the members who did this were deleted by the way). It's not worth the headache, so no more AOL.

You won't receive any PM alerts via email, you won't be able to subscribe to threads - no nothin'.

Get a Hotmail account and you'll be fine.
