Just in case anyone misses this in CM fantastic report on London this year, the outcome of Dave's court case against Affiliate Edge has been that the court ruled that they were not the appropriate forum to manage the issue due to an arbitration clause and slapped OCR with ~£12k in legal fees.

After checking that we can talk about the case with a lawyer a few of us - most notably CM himself - are contributing to a pot to help meet these fees. You can read about this here - https://www.casinomeister.com/gambling-news/london-affiliate-conference-2018/

Anyone who wants to contribute (links offered as thanks on CM, TP and OCR) should get in contact with myself, Bryan or Dave.

Yes, already assisted and let's hope we can help someone who actually had the gumption to do something instead of sitting back like everyone else did.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to ThePogg, Casinomeister and CasinoBonusesNow. But seriously ThePogg you have been a rock.

Unfortunately I cannot say anymore than what has been posted here or what I have written on my own site which TP linked above. But a big thank you to all of the community and my peers, especially to those that have chipped in to help.

I just wanted to let everyone know that assuming that everyone comes through with the payments they've offered we've now covered all of the balance we were looking to raise. I'm genuinely thrilled to see so many affiliates come together in such a positive way!

Well that is superb and a glowing testimony to the brother (and sister) hood of decent affiliates! I am chuffed it was achieved so fast so thanks from us all for organizing it all!

Now we just need another effort to drive these unethical affiliate programs out of town.
I feel a new sister site to shithole casinos coming on - 'shithouseaffiliates.com' :D

I do have a very 'wet around the ears' concept that could, maybe, possibly move towards this end. I'm taking feedback from a few parties on the outline I've put together and if the feedback isn't laughing me out of town I'll consider presenting it......

I wouldn't get too excited - Bryan is sceptical about the base concept (an Affiliate Union). Tbh I entirely understand his pov - this idea has been batted around hundreds of times before and no-one has managed to get a functional framework in place. I've taken some time to think through the barrier to that happening and put together what I see as potential workarounds, but I could well be totally deluding myself.

I actually coincidentally talked to Tom Glanis at LAC about such a thing, as I could see the potential further down the line if there were any anti-affiliate or anti-competitive arbitrary actions by the UKGC that exceeded their powers, and lawyers were necessary. Amongst other things.

It seems everybody in the industry knows Tom Galanis other than me! I've been hearing his name a lot today lol.

Just an update. I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have not only pledged and made financial contributions towards my costs, but also those of you that have sent supportive messages. I truly do appreciate it.

I will be recording a video shortly, thanking each and everyone of you. But for the time being, you can see for yourselves which sites have helped me out. THANK YOU!!

I was going to help out - but you reached your target incredibly quickly, before I had the chance!
What a wonderful bunch your fellow web-masters are

A kind of update. I cover this and the generosity of my peers in my first video blog for 6 months. Also including additional links to each and every site who pledged to help me with the costs we were hammered with.

It is quite long ( 23 mins )

Well as you say a salutary story which has demonstrated how the land lies as regarding this type of matter. A lesson learned which wouldn't have been without somebody challenging these retroactive term changes and quotas. Sadly it appears there's little people can do with this or any other programme which introduces such changes, other than simply remove any traffic. It's shame justice comes down to means, maybe with thePOGG's affiliate union idea in future there will be the funds available to take the next step of the legal challenge.
