The Remarkable CM Community Thread

Hi All,

A little while ago I had some crazy luck from Videoslots and won a jackpot from the jackpot wheel. I promised a competition as I would not have been playing the site so much had it not been for Casinomeister. As a thanks I would like to offer a competition for 2 winners at £25 each. There is also £5 to a chosen charity won from a raffle held by @The Reel Story during one of his bonus hunts:

Following the luck I decided to by a truck, second hand, for a new business I am trying to push. I got the train 90 miles and I bought a 2005 Mitsubishi L200 4life 2.5DT in the UK. To the nearest £ how much did I pay?

The two nearest guesses win the money.

I then drove the truck home and got up the next morning and it didnt start.

For charity, to the nearest penny, how much was the new battery I had to buy?

Thanks for all your help and advice, you know who you are and thanks @Team.Videoslots for doing what you do.

Deadline Friday 15:00 if thats ok with everyone. Can do transfer if UK or Paypal and have a half set up Neteller I think but am sure we can sort something with some help if not.

Hmm unless i have misunderstood something, this thread is for competitions/giveaways etc?
I kind of like messing around with stuff like this.
If i made some kind of giveaway/contest, would it be ok if i paid the prizes via skrill or is there some rules for how to give out the prizes?
I sometimes do this at another forum, and its usually 2 or 3 prizes of 100sek (10€ish) each.
So no big moneys, but this is mostly for fun right? =)

people generally drop 25, sometimes 50 - your gift, your choice
and pay in the manner theyre able (paypal, skrill, etc)...sometimes if the winner doesnt have that as well, another member helps as a go between

Just wonderful to read how the story is continuing. All the best for your business adventure and thanks for doing the comp as that is what keeps this remarkable thread alive. :)

I will guess:

GBP4100 for the truck
GBP125 for the battery

There are no fixed rules or amounts for the giveaways. We do it indeed for fun as it often gives CM members who might be out of budget some playtime and a chance to maybe win something. Typically we say, double and pass on. So if the prize is 25E then make it to 50E and pass the received 25E on. With the rest, members are free to do what they like.

We have one restriction to avoid having comp hunters taking part in that members have to be with CM for at least 3 months and/or have minimum 50 proper posts.

As for payments, we developed strategies/networks that allows virtually any type of payment method to be used. When a direct transfer is not possible e.g. Skrill to Skrill we have members jumping in as intermediaries to facilitate the transfer. Until now, we always managed to get the prize money to the winner.

Of course, we welcome any eligible member to take part in/post giveaways, the more the merrier. :D

Congratulations on your win and cheers for your comp. My guess is that many have done their homework of the typical cost of a 2005
Mitsubushi but it will depend on its condition. I will guess that you got a bargain for £1950 and your battery was 69.00 :)

@dionysus

Its noble of you to pass but there are two winner spots and its a thank you in the direction of people like you anyway so go on, have a guess, you might win the charity £5 and not feel so bad.
okeydokey
2500 and 110, ive no clue

High there in case on the rare occasion I won I decided not to enter the battery part to give someone else that opportunity.

No worries, you could still win the cash and somebody else could get the charity choice. There could be one winner or three....ooooh the possibilities are endless! (well a few). You could also donate to somebody else's chosen charity, Its up to you.

Quick Update:

Somebody has hit the nail on the head for the cost of the pick up!
Somebody else is waiting for a call to pick said pick up up (try saying that when your drunk), as having brakes done, so might not be around dead on 3pm.

Edit: Also thought afterwards it would have been more fun for people to guess what name the kids gave it....Gus! great name, dont know where they got it from but very apt, it seems to suit, though 'moneypit' may be its middle name.

Surely that’s Mack, Jono? Unless you mean good old Mater of course.
Yes, watched all of them several times...!

Yup, I stand corrected lol, Mater.

Pretty sure Gus is a truck in something or another lol, resisted Googling as wanted to test my aching memory

Edit: I was close (well...ish :p) Son used to love this, knew I''d seen/heard it somewhere!

They watch Blaze....must be where they got it from.

Sorry I am late I had to pick kids up and feed them before they hurt me.

So @helenakp hit the nail on the head and guessed I paid £2250 for the beast. In hindsight I should have paid more like @Flyer187 amount of £1500 but I cant complain. I think that makes @dave1888 the closest just sneaking under @SteveBr guess. Congrats! Please message and we will sort payment.

The closest guess for the battery was @Harry_BKK with £125. I paid £124.98 according to the invoice. Please let me know which charity I can donate the £5 to and I will do straight away.

Thanks for participating peops. It feels nice to give a little back. Enjoy the weekend.

Ok so not having much fun or luck. Set up Skrill and they allowed me to deposit £60 but have blocked my acct from any transactions pending review and only open during day???!!! Anyway, will be asking for my £60 back, what a poor outfit. So then went to deposit on my Paypal and have forgot password so did that and got verification code now waiting on them to deposit 1p in my account so i can get a verification code. Sorry chaps but not much joy at the mo, watch this space.
