The glaring caveat to all this Responsible Gaming nonsense

It seems that not a day goes by these days where I don't get an email about how responsible a company is, how to set up limits, loss limits on play, time limits etc but (sadly as happened to me last night)....

What use is all of this when they STILL allow you to cancel Pending Withdrawals?!

Surely that is the biggest and most dangerous of all of these supposed safe thing. I've in fact noticed more and more places introducing the reversal of withdrawals as well that didn't do it 12 months ago.

It's all one large box ticking exercise, again why bother sending an email out THE NEXT DAY to remind someone of their responsibility. If they were that bothered it would be up front and in your face as well but as I tend to set a deposit limit up everywhere I play, sometimes they are about 5 links away from the main page.

Highly annoying.

Because it's all a load of grandiose, virtue signalling load of hogwash that makes the likes of the UKGC appear as though they're doing their job. There's so much hypocrisy floating about in the industry and darkened corners that never get investigated, but yeah 100 autospins and 99999999 loss limits

Reverse withdrawals should be their #1 priority and is about as Responsible Gambling as it gets

Exactly goatey - It is the UKGC making these changes and are making them say they are committed to Responsible Gaming.

RG my ass, all I need to do is look at 32Red who fall under the umbrella of the UKGC and shake my head in disappointment. They don't advocate RG but rather stall withdrawals and advocate irresponsible behavior by hiding and removing any tools which help players from protecting their balances. All this and they are still licenced and continuing their BS right under the UKGC's nose citing their interpretation of the rules.

It began with some disappointing LIES from highly respected reps claiming PLAYERS had asked for it until their intentions were really exposed.

I agree with the OP - it starts at the withdrawal stage - It must be locked if they cannot process it in 30 mins. I fear you will never see that. Apart from places like Rizk, SlotsMillion and Videoslots, its free for all everywhere else.

Casumo have the ability to lock funds by clicking on a 'lock funds' tab by your withdrawal. Videoslots don't need that as they process withdrawals pretty quick!

In the wise words of Ronald McDonald 'da da da da da, I'm loving it!' (go on, I bet that tune is now in your head!!)

Meh, if I win a decent chunk then it's leaving the Casino's bank account every time - no ifs no buts, no matter how long they take to process it.

It's taken a few disappointments and missteps along the way to get to this black belt level of self control though...

Well, the UKGC should read the Gamcare forum - look how many stories of debt and desperation mention"I recovered my losses, or even turned around a profit, but they left my winnings reversible for xx days so I did the inevitable and feeling annoyed I loaded more up and chased...."

This is the ONLY AND SINGLE REASON WHY REVERSE/PENDING PERIODS EXIST!!! All other 'reasons' are complete and utter piffle and bullcrap. It needs banning.

If the gaming commissions were really that concerned they would start holding some of the casinos responsible that do not meet proper standers.

Lets take fortune lounge for example. They have no TAB, loss limit or self exclusion tools anywhere on their site. In order to be self excluded you need to fill out a form and an affadavit send it to the casino and wait for it to be reviewed. This is a ploy to hope the player calms down and doesnt leave their brand and blows even more money while they wait. They license this casino, why are they not enforcing any kind of RG?

You can always tell between the really good casinos and the not so good. Fortune lounge missing RG tools. Slotsmillion lock your withdraw option when that isnt enforced by anyone. Or videoslots who doesnt mess around and when they come across your withdraw request they simply process it and move on to the next request. And have a whole pile of responsible gaming tools on their site that can be implemented by a click of the button.

Methinks the gambling commission should focus some of their energy on the casinos they are licensing that do not promote responsible gambling instead of asking the player who they are sleeping with, what they had for breakfast and how they bought that breakfast.

If there are any app programmers on the forum, how about designing a firewall app that can block a chosen website address for a prescribed period without being able to undo it during that period, and with no possibility to shut the firewall app down, whilst any sites are blocked? Would it be possible?

(Unless you're playing at 32Red) use the instant TAB button for 4 days - is the easier option. Now the UKGC wouldn't make withdrawals instant as it would be anti-competitive as smaller casinos wouldn't have the resources to staff 24/7 BUT the Rizk idea (worth a gold star to Rizk in itself!) and latterly copied by Casumo viz-a-viz the locked withdrawal COULD be made compulsory.

This absolutely should be made compulsory,i dont do it now but many times when i started online slotting i have reversed sizeable withdrawals lost the lot and deposited again chasing the losses. its just a greedy underhand tactic.

I always use that button, Daz, but some casinos make it hard to find, or don't offer a TAB for partial weeks, others don't even have a button, but instead require an email to be sent to CS to request a time-out.

It would be so much more convenient if we could control it ourselves, with a firewall type gizmo, you could even set it for several hours. Complete control! But that might put the casinos out of business. :)

In fact, I joined a famous one in Leicester Square, and they had buttons for every type of RG scenario, but I could not see the one for TAB, although it stated that "you can find it in the software", but I couldn't find the software either. So I emailed the CS, and he tried to give me the third degree interrogation, which I ignored, but was then bombarded with emails about how to control my gambling. All I wanted was to withdraw my winnings, FFS.

Can only agree with the OP and all subsequent posts; pending periods and reverse withdrawals are the lowest of all casino tactics.
It should work like this:

1. You request a withdrawal.
2. The amount you request is removed from your account.

And that's it. Doesn't matter how long your withdrawal takes to actually process, the money should be removed from your account until that time. It can sit somewhere else "pending" for all I care, and be absolutely non-reversible.

Yes. This is what I was getting at about making a withdrawal lock option compulsory regardless of processing timescale. Many casino like the big bookies and for some reason the IOM licensed ones like Sun Vegas, Novibet, Jennings Bet. Bet East Fun88 etc. simply don't have and have never had any way of reversing withdrawals in the first place. I've heard various figures on the grapevine of 15-35% of cash-outs are reversed and spunked back, the higher the pending period, the higher the percentage.

It's counter-productive as if the player reverses and spunks it back, then they'll likely be angry with themselves and the casino and thus exclude or shut the account. If you notice my videos which represent sites I play often at, they are ALL quick payers, Sky, Trada and Casumo. If they had pending periods of any length, they wouldn't see a penny from me.

Same here. If a casino has a "mandatory" pending period (as a lot of establishments do; 24hrs, 48hrs etc) they can guarantee never to see me. I have dabbled before - and one quite recently although the name escapes me - in such casinos, but I don't any more and never will.
I just don't get it... I mean, we all know why pending periods and reverse withdrawals exist, but there isn't a single casino in existence who will put their hand up and admit it is a shady tactic they intentionally employ to earn back winnings from players too weak to wait out the required time. I remember when 32Red stunned us all and started that nonsense, and poor Mark was thrown to the dogs; coming in here and explaining the reasoning with an incredible piece of marketing gibberish as if the Casinomeister collective could be bamboozled into thinking it was entirely innocent

I'd like just one rep to come out and state why casinos delay winnings, allow reversals and generally use underhand tactics to benefit themselves. Just one. I wouldn't like their reasons but I'd sure as hell respect them for their honesty!

As I said in my OP it seems that more places are actually ADDING the ability to reverse as well that didn’t a year ago from memory.

Even Paddy Power have an option to turn off reversing, Rizk’s idea of pressing Lock on your request is a great idea.

If I put it back in a few days later then more fool me but there’s only one reason why Reversing exists and it’s not so the player can come back in and “enjoy” the games more.

You don't need a rep to tell you - Its blatantly obvious - PROFIT.

In any event, I have spoken to casinos from an affiliate perspective and asked about their pending periods and was told that it was financially beneficial for them to do this - people reverse and lose. A rep won't come out here and admit that. Several Casino reps have told me that this is the reason.

I must tell you if there is one Casino i ADMIRE on the subject, its Videoslots. The fastest average payment time I have ever experienced. You request, they pay - I don't even have to wait an hour. Its done in 20 mins or less sometimes. A host of tools like MAX BET limit (Which I use often) and other RG tools.

I mean VS are so good at it - Even if you ask for a comp, they tell you you have a gambling problem

LeoVegas are pretty damn' good lately. A couple of times today, I actually wanted to reverse so I could add some more to the withdrawal amount, due to the fixed fee, but was too late, it was only a matter of a couple of hours that I noticed it, but was probably sooner.:)
