sorry the video speaks in italian pretty much says the virus is copyright of usa and was created to maintain the population of the earth below a certain threshold and to have profits by the invention of a possible vaccine... in the google copyright page once there was a voice on how to create a vaccine but at present was cancelled ... after see that everyone does their own conclusions

Well it's on YouTube so it must be true.

Might also be a good idea not to drive too far in any one direction in case you fall over the horizon into space.

It's typical, don't you remember the meteor over Russia, that was no meteor, it was the US testing a new kind of bomb.

The volcanoes, mudslides and earthquakes are all caused by the US.

Does that youtube video mention that whenever there is a major natural disaster the US is one of the first to offer to send rescue teams anywhere in the world to help out, including sending hundreds of our soldiers and researchers into Western Africa to try to help out with the current Ebola problem?

Amazing stuff!

Interesting I was just going to post about how the ebola virus turns people into zombies. :eek2: No kidding, I keep seeing stuff on social media where people are saying stuff like "Who's this ebola guy and why won't they let him come to america?" and someone responds, with "Ebola is a deadly virus that's killed a bunch of people in Africa already and they're trying to keep it from spreading." and then someone else says, "No way, that shit is real? And it turns people into zombies, that's whack man!"

:rolleyes::confused:

So after seeing a couple of those I decided to figure out what it was about. It turns out that this was a rumor started in Chinese social media and was being widely shared that ebola victims came back from the dead. And the media tried to squelch the rumors but actually ended up making it worse by saying "No sometimes people are sick and unconscious and then they wake up and bite people and animals but they're not zombies because they were never dead."

Now I don't know how true the China part of it is - I did read it on the internet after all - but it's kinda funny how people just take something they see on FB and suddenly make it a real thing. There's also a viral video of a man who they thought was dead who moved his arm, and that's also fueling the rumors, and with all the zombie movies and games and tv shows lately, it's not that surprising.

Such ignorance and misinformation from China - or anywhere else - is a scary thing, especially in view of the extensive and informative international media coverage that this frightening disease has attracted as it has expanded rapidly through West African nations.

The British PM just yesterday was calling on other nations to match the effort of the US and Britain in trying to stamp out Ebola in its countries of origin (like the US, the UK is despatching some serious resources to the area in a bid to help the locals bring this thing under control.)

On the positive side, the scare has spurred more intense research into what was previously regarded as a pretty much unbeatable virus, although tragically that's a little late for the thousands who have already succumbed to it.

I forgot I had posted the link on FB to one of the stories I read about the zombie thing here in case anyone's interested in reading it. xxhttp://zombieresearchsociety.com/archives/25794

In this one it explains that the media said this one paragraph and went on to explain why it was wrong, but people were I guess just reading the first paragraph and running with it.

I live in the 'bible belt'... bless my heart....

A third of the fruitcakes here think our gov or the drug companies are responsible for ebola, a third think China/MiddleEast/Russia (take your pick) is trying to wipe USA out, the other third think God is sending us a warning/punishment of some sort (kind of like when hurricane Katrina wiped out Biloxi and New Orleans because of the gambling- even though they have rebuilt and the casinos are all new and spiffy fine now- though why He didn't also take out Las Vegas, Atlantic city, and Tunica, etc. too remains a mystery).

And it's rather creepy that people get their TV shows and real life all melded together (zombie virus?? sheesh) and believe it to be real.

It's definately not what you believe it is.

I'm not good enough in English to explain everything so I leave it to someone who has it as a native language to do it.
No they have not invented the virus.

According to the abstract, I read this as research into the nature of the virus as part of an initiative to create or find an immune system booster or antidote to the disease.

Ebola isn't new, the first oubreak was like 40 years ago in Africa - somewhere in the mid-70s? Maybe a lot of the people passing these conspiracy theories around weren't even alive then, but still, it only takes a second to do some research.

The main carrier or animal/human crossover is fruit bats, once it's in a person, then of course it can spread human to human very quickly. I read that the first person infected didn't even have to necessarily be bitten by a fruit bat or even come into contact with one. It's enough if a fruit bat was eating something and drops it and then a person who's picking fruit picks that fruit up and ends up eating it. Or another animal eats the fruit and is in turn killed and eaten by people.

So of course it starts where there are an abundance of fruit bats and in a poor and rural area where people hunt for food. But I've also seen people posting conspiracy theories about race - it was a disease created strictly to kill black people or whatever.

They said the same about AIDS in the 80's and 90's.

Nature doesn't need man-made viruses to keep a species' population in control. Overpopulation will take care of itself naturally (could be an asteroid, famine, plague, new ice age, etc). Let's just hope that we won't be around anymore when it happens.

Or we take care of it ourselves with killing eachother.
I suppose you talked about a natural way but I think we will manage good without that unfortunately.

Makes perfect sense to me , this has been around for decades , travel and social media has just made more people aware of it.

When there is an outbreak it has usually been contained and its course ran but like I said with travel more common than 40 years ago from Africa , we will have more outbreaks if we can not contain it at its hotspots.

@ Suze , I too have never eaten a fruit bat but have been accused many a time of being a ding bat:D

lol yeah me neither - but also I've never really been hungry. I mean sure there were days when I was young when there wasn't much food in the house, but nothing like what a lot of people in the world go through, even in this country.
