So noticed a new 'faster withdrawal enabled' logo on my account today, and it turns out skybet will now refund any withdrawal back to your debit card in 2 hours or less.
At the moment it is £200 or less and only Barclays, but presumably that will increase and the list of banks extend.
Hopefully this is something other casinos will start doing in the future.

It was about time this happens. Deposits taken instantly but withdrawals take a few days ...

Can we see the ewallets “dying” soon? Or at least removing their unjustified fees ....?

Actually, thats a bit of a misconception, deposits aren't taken instantly, they take 2-3 days usually, same as a credit. Where people think its instant is because the authorisation is taken from your available balance, but the money isn't actually taken from your account until you see the merchant listed properly on your statement :)

This is great news, most players probably still use debit cards for payments so this should be default anyway.

I'd imagine the limits will go up beyond £200 in time too. This is the sort of thing to make other casinos sit up and take notice with a bit of luck....

Of course I'm sure payments to debit cards have always been possible in a much quicker timeframe, but we'll let them have their moment :D

They are using faster payments, which are 24/7 real time payments in stirling only to UK beneficiaries. 2 hours is the maxiumum time they can take and if they go over this their Bank needs to (belive it or not) notify the Bank of England.

In practise it is instant 99% of the time.

The wholesale prices of these transactions went down from about £4 to 50p each last year, so this is probably why we are seeing this change.

Maybe someone should tell Neteller, who are still using the the 3 day value ACH BACS system for withdrawals and charging £5 for each transaction when the cost to them will be about 2p each.

This is debit card not faster payments though, there are no 2 hour rules in place for these. Hopefully it's something starting that will bring card payments in line with faster payments though :D

I'm surprised that they can do this on a debit card because it's traditionally dependent on incoming card transaction files from MasterCard/Visa, which are usually run once per day and 1-2 days behind... definitely some new technology in play...

I have been playing Bonanza at Sky Vegas now and then since it was added about two months ago but i haven't been playing slots much.

I don't bank at barclays but withdrawals are always in my account the next working day at Sky Vegas and that's quick enough, If people needed the money then maybe they shouldn't have deposited in the first place.

Waiting a day to get your winnings is not long to wait unless you withdrew on a Friday then obviously you would have to wait until Monday, But like i said if you needed the money then you shouldn't have deposited in the first place.

Thats fine when its a couple of hundred quid. When its a 3 or 4k withdrawal that you are hanging around waiting for, the speed of the withdrawal suddenly becomes a lot more important. So yes I do think the speed is a selling point for Casinos, especially as the technology is both available and cheap to do it.

Just as an update, tried this out for the first time tonight. Withdrew £200, by the time I picked my phone up and typed in 5 digits to login to my bank account it was there. Also, its £200 per transaction, but seems to can do multiple ones fine, as I did another £200 2 minutes later, and that was in just as quick.

I think Nicola mentioned in another thread all UK casinos are doing this now, but I've only seen Sky doing it, anyone know who else is?

This is great news!

This will eliminate my reason for using Paypal as once I get it in Paypal they transfer it with faster pay too, but too many times they have but a 72 hours delay on it for no reason which is super annoying.

I can confirm mine is instantly in my bank account on withdrawal. I'm with Barclays. As Colin said there seems to be a cap of around £200 - but multiples worked for me too! And what I love about sky (apart from this!) is there also seems to be no limit to the amount of deposits/withdrawals you can make each day. I play Vegas and Casino daily :)

I've never understood the obsession with ultra fast payouts. It seems to me that 3-4 working days is a perfectly adequate timeframe that anybody who was willing to risk the money in the first place should have no problem waiting for.

Some of us have a gambling 'budget' - so say we're down to our last £5 of that (like I was on Thursday) and win big, it's then nice to be able to use a portion of that to continue playing - so faster withdrawals allow that to be possible. Just my perspective ;)

Regardless of gambling budget sizes, the money is mine the moment I win it and make a withdrawal request. All these funds sitting with the casino for (ridiculously) long pending periods is always at the disadvantage of the player - he cannot use his funds whilst the casinos can hold on to theirs for longer periods of time and get interest as well. Time is money, always.

An often overlooked aspect of why casinos stall. It's not just about one player's £100 withdrawal, but several hundreds', and when delayed for even a couple of days, still makes them money they otherwise wouldn't have made :cool:

I can see the advantage of it.

I rather prefer non reversible withdrawals and wait a few days for the money to arrive. It stops the urge of redepositing after a big win when we are at the most vulnerable.

brilliant this is, i hope other bookmakers/casinos/banks follow suit, they all should have the funds in your bank account on the same day that you withdraw it for debit cards, enough is enough of waiting 2-3 days!
