Skybet holding my money nearly 6 years.

Finally where were you before

I like to look at things from all angles, but it would still benefit you to laugh at this £1 issue and move on.

The self exclusion cock up is a different issue, if you feel they erred and your limits should have been less than that £1,000 because they didn't complete their safe gambling check as the site crashed, that's something you should have took up with them or their adr.

I myself fucked up recently but technically would probably have some sort of loophole claim/complaint when the ukgr banned reversing withdrawals and yet I still was able to do it at betfair and coral, lost me probably £1200 but I know I still had an adult choice and made it [the wrong one] so got to take it on the chin and move on.

'' However, having read the chat from 4-10-14 during which you removed the expired "Self Exclusion", which I copy below, I see that you (The Customer) ended the chat before the agent had completed our usual formalities, which I can confirm includes offering a Deposit Limit'' sky

Selling my data

Thank you for taking the time to respond to the email you received yesterday from us.

Please accept our apologies that you received this email in error. We had a systemic issue yesterday whereby we emailed a number of customers an automatic acknowledgement email who we had contacted in 2018.

Please be assured that your personal data was not put at risk by this issue.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

we do have set processes in place which advisors are fully trained to follow, and I have to believe that we would have followed that process had the chat session stayed active.

Guys my corona cooking will be available in a moment.
Also make sure this guy gets his quid.
It’s the biggest rip off in CM history.
Justice will be done.

Thank you for contacting the Gambling Commission on 08 November 2019 regarding Skybet, operating as Bonne Terre Limited.

I understand from your email that you self-excluded with Skybet back in 2013 and were able to reopen your account in 2014. The period you chose was for 1 year and you feel that Skybet did not follow any responsible gambling regulations or ask if you were happy about your gambling levels. You were also not asked if you wanted a deposit limit applied to your account. After you raised a complaint your account was suspended, and you have now been told that you cannot have the account for responsible gambling issues. You still have a balance in the account which they are still withholding from you.

You state that this situation occurred in 2013 and 2014. I must advise that from 1 November 2014 gambling operators that provided remote gambling to British consumers required a licence with us. Prior to this date a licence was not required. Therefore, we can only provide advice regarding complaints/events that took place on or after the 1 November 2014.

Regarding your complaint and seeking a refund on your funds you should raise a formal complaint with the operator. The complaints procedure can be found in the operators’ terms and conditions.

If you wish to continue to raise this complaint then you can escalate the matter to Skybet's co-regulator.

If you think you have an actionable case against a licence holder you can consider referring the matter to court, you may wish to seek independent legal advice beforehand. If the amount is under £10,000 you can go through the small claims court. Further information about this process can be found

Here they admitted wrong doing.

Thanks for your phone call, I hope you are well

We have always taken responsible gambling and player protection very seriously but this incident showed that we needed to do more.

Since this incident we have further increased our resources and focus on helping our customers to gamble safely. We have initiated a major TV and online campaign promoting, amongst other things, limits that customers can set to control their own gambling.

If you would like to raise this further if you could please contact us again or respond to this email confirming if you would like to raise a complaint to investigate your account further.

the bold part is the key, if you took it further and hit a dead end with them or the adr, then you have to move on. Or take it to the small claims court but as people have said there is a time element to that.

Hopefully if the ukgc get an ombudsman he can resolve cases like this based on the interpretation of their own complex rules and guidelines.

All well known casinos big up their responsible gambling approach, same as pubs and bars with alcohol, but you still see plenty of pissed people wandering about.

[I'm not talking about the missing pound by the way]

As this is the case I'm afraid we will not be going into any further discussion with you in regards to this complaint you have raised, as it is to be dealt with by the AGCC, so their outcome is final.

This is the highest point that you can raise this with in regards to us and the regulators I'm afraid, so we will not be corresponding to you further in regards to this.

'' 36,000 did not have funds from their accounts returned to them when they were closed.''

What about before 2014 how many it all adds up
Casinos sure are making easy money. I think they should automatically return any amounts.

Just like winning screenshots. It doesen't matter if the stake was just a pathetic insignificant pitiful £1, those are still nice to see.

Imagine going through all this effort for just 9 cents or so. Like the transaction fee itself is even worth more. Ive seen it. Company's sending a letter of 5 frigging cents. Just the letter alone costs more incl shipping.

I made it to page 8 before deciding this wasn't going anywhere: @OP - i get the matter of prnciple well, it's indeed sometimes worth chasing something just to set right a wrong, but i'm not sure if this is one such case.

Personally i am a bit skeptical, i have let matters go, that were in my opinion far 'heavier' and of a higher pecuniary value, just making peace with the fact that the Casino in question was no longer a place i wanted to deal with. In those few instances, i considered myself lucky i found out for a sum lower than 3 digits!

I hope you don't feel too much discomfort with the lghthearted tone of the forum members: you have to understand that a lot of advice is offered between the lines, so to speak.

Without having read the last pages, i assume it should be clear to you that the general consensus is: it's not worth it, and your only real option - if you still want to pursue this matter - is to get actual legal advice.

Best of luck...

Just as a tongue-in-cheek post for those scoffing at the value of a Quid:

How much is your time worth tho?
Spending 6 years to retrive ~ 1£.

Whats your estimated hourly wage?

I actually watched that all the way through - all 42.03 mins of it - and it was absolutely fascinating how far a little imagination can take you. Loved it.

So thank you very much @incrediblestuff. I'm going to look up more of his stuff on YouTube as he is a natural.

Also, for @Playford7, @dionysus , @greylady , @irish-ranger , @Kroffe , @paul7388 , @Davey86 and some of my other cat nemesises (?) over on the Fur Babies thread, if you fast-forward to 10:55, there is the most beautiful dog that I really could be tempted to dogknap.

Finally, I have read through all 13 pages  of this thread, and I only have one comment.

"A pound. A pound. My Kingdom for a pound!"
