I'm not sure that story is accurate. I just don't see how or why the US Gov't would (or even be able to) keep this under wraps. It would be by far in their best interest to publicize the case as a deterrent to every other company. Any time a processor has been shut down, the US gov't has been very glib (and, may I add, giddy) about it.

It could be Ewallet is hiding behind this "rumor" as they have mismanaged/stolen/had embezzled the funds.

There are many thinking this.

1) Why, uniquely in this case, no bragging from the DoJ?
2) Why operators in the know are saying "I cannot comment"
3) This email sent to operators with "the truth". Why such EXTRAORDINARY efforts to keep this from leaking out to PLAYERS

Conspiracy theory....

1) DoJ actually had nothing to do with this.

2) Operators KNOW this is complete BS, but are looking after No1, and hope that by keeping quiet about what they have figured out they stand more chance of getting their own money back from EWX.

3) Cleverest of the lot. Send the email about a seizure to operators, then seek to keep it secret, but knowing damn well it will leak out sooner or later.
When it leaks, players ASSUME it is the "real truth" simply because of the obvious attempts to keep it secret. Now, the mere fact that EWX tried to hide this gets it general acceptance as being "the real truth" behind the "technical issues" line being spun by their CS.

Once players have what they believe is the truth, they will stop digging - well, thats the theory, except that in this case there are a few players who have NOT "bought this", and are STILL "digging", and finding a number of glaring inconsistencies between THIS "seizure", and all the others.

Only time will tell, since the money is gone anyway, we just can't be sure WHERE at the moment.

We also don't know whether the EWX freeze was what set off a chain of events that lead to the "massive system failure" that took Rushmore so long to fix. Whilst Rushmore are now paying out the backlog, we may not appreciate how close to the edge this situation was, and maybe the risk of not seeing the money was very real, and Rushmore managed to overcome it to save their skin.

Update

I spoke with a "floor manager" on Friday and was told that part of my payment was sent via wire on 1/3. As of today (1/10), I have still not seen it hit my account. While I am hopeful I'll see these funds soon, I was told the exact same thing a month ago and was then told about the "technical issues" after the maximum 10 business days for a wire had lapsed.

There may be only a handful of solvent online casinos left. It certainly gives one pause before daring to deposit anywhere these days. In my experience the game play is bad enough lately, but trying to win is a whole separate gamble vs. trying to get paid IF you win.

the thing that puzzles me is most players know that this group has a history of slow pay. unless they have really good bonuses or their slots are loose i dont understand why one would continue to patronise themand then cry foul. hmmm.

This is just so wrong. As of today, I still don't have my money that was promised to me almost a month ago. I do understand things happen, but to treat customers like this is simply unbelievable. We're more understanding than what you think, but when you offer no reasonable explanation, or worse lie to us, there has to be repercussions.

What a disgusting story. I really liked Rushmore and it was my casino of choice. I welcomed the invitation to enjoy the benefits of becoming a VIP and now all I get are lies, misleading stories, etc.

How do you expect your better customers to ever play at the site again? By the actions of mgmt and the employees, you have lost your reputation and it will follow the company and it successors.

Just a terrible and sad situation.

Just chatted with Rushmore again today since I haven't received my wire that they promised me was sent out on 1-3. Now they are having cashier issues. Sounds like another stall tactic. I agree with you, Gret, it was my casino of choice also. They are promising we will have our money today or latest tomorrow. Keep me posted. I have cashed out at Alladins Gold and GO Casino within the last week and had no problems receiving the wire within 3-4 days. Any other sites anyone would recommend for US players that you feel comfortable with?? Thanks

Silver Oak isn't too bad. They treated me right...did have a slow withdrawal issue once, but they stayed on top of it and kept me informed of what was going on. They never left me hanging and I appreciated their effort. Got paid with a small bonus.

While the withdrawal issue was going on, I went to Rushmore and gave them a shot. Very satisfied and my winnings were always paid out within 5 business days via wire. Then this debacle occurred and I'm more than a little upset. Not becasue they ran into an issue, but the way they have handled it. Tell me it will take a month and I can deal with it...lie to me and you're toast forever. Don't accept deposits when you can't make payouts!

Difference between Silver Oak and Rushmore is that Silver communicated and gave a real explanation, not this run around we're getting from Rushmore.

Conspiracy theory....

1) DoJ actually had nothing to do with this...
A number of people have seen a copy of the actual warrant - believe me, it was a real bona-fide seizure. There is no conspiracy.

As for the Rushmore group - dire straits I'm afraid. This seizure has hit them extremely hard. I would not be playing there.

Chargebacks are a huge no-no at Casinomeister, regardless (last I knew ) of the reason.

Everyone I know who ADMITTED making chargebacks here has been banned so you might want to keep that in mind.

I am trying to help you here, and I'm not passing judgment either way.

OK I see this a lot, I KNOW it's a huge "NO NO", equivalent to molesting puppies or something along those lines....
But WHY are chargebacks considered so terrible?
To me it seems like something that would be logical to do if a casino has ripped you off, getting the seed money back at least.
I understand not doing it for scurvy reasons or running scams on the casinos, but is a player never justified in doing a chargeback?
Why do people get banned from CM for admitting to doing one?

Just wondering, thanks for any responses!

If you're making chargebacks, opening fraudulent accounts, etc., etc., you will jeopardize your membership (that's in the rules here).

Now there is a big difference in making a chargeback with a fully operational casino like Rushmore and some clip shot joint that shuts down and takes your winnings and deposit. But with that said, I don't think I've ever banned anyone when they admitted making a chargeback - there have been members though who have been banned because they did this under fraudulent intentions.

still no payment...

My withdraw was sent in 12/12/2010...
another one sent in on 1/4/2011...

I have not received payment yet...:(

both wire transfers...

I was also told withdrawal processed on 1/3/11 and nothing yet. I was told day before yesterday I would have today at the latest. Nadda! Just a few minutes ago, they told me Monday at the latest since that is the 10th day of their 6-10 days. I'm past the point of being angry ... I'm just tired of the whole thing. :(

Rushmore went another day without doing the right thing. No money in the bank.

Silver Oak maybe classified as "rogue", but my experience has been OK. Rushmore is an "accredited" casino and my experience is bad. Go figure.

Rushmore, as well as the other casinos that consistently pop up in the complaint forums, are really poison for the industry. The US Congress is considering opening up the market and a few bad apples will preclude any chance for success. The poor boob, Congressman Barney Frank, needs help and the industry can't afford to have these things happen to the customer base.

The reputable online sites should proceed like raped apes and open up a few cans of ass whuppen on these wrong doers, if they want the industry to survive and prosper.

Appalling and nauseating conduct.

Tuesday is the "new" 10th business day

I spoke with a rep today regarding my "payment" on 1/3. I was told that today (1/14) was the 9th business day, but because of MLK day on Monday, Tuesday (1/18) is the new 10th business day. When do I just stop putting up with BS and put in a dispute with my CC charges? Time is running out on this opportunity to do so, and while I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, 6+ weeks for payment is unacceptable.

This is what Bryan stated earlier above. IMO wouldnt be holding my breath waiting for a wire. I also wouldnt be re-depositing.

I'd like to buy that debt

Given that they have paid the majority of people that are due the money, I would be very willing to pay 60c/$1.00 for any Rushmore debt that has been "approved" as long as a reasonable way of compliance can be determined.

They may not pay, but that's not the way that I would wager.

So, why is this seizure playing out so differently to the others. The 8m poker fund seizure in Washington is all over the news, and is confirmed from sorces outside online gambling sites.

The EWX website is STILL showing a "latest update" that STILL invites new customer registrations, at least from Canada.

If this has hit Rushmore hard, then they too have been LYING about this being mere "technical issues", and have been making promises they know damn well they cannot keep to players. What is even WORSE is that they are continuing to take further deposits, at a time when they do not know if they can EVER pay players their withdrawals.

I wonder who ELSE has been hit hard, and are lying about it to players. ANY casino that suddenly seems to have "technical issues" when it comes to paying out should be treated with extreme caution.

ANY casino thinking of using the "technical issues" excuse for a THIRD time following EWX and Rushmore wants it's corporate head examined. NO-ONE is going to buy a THIRD run of this particular story line.

Only SPECIFIC, and VERIFIABLE, excuses should be used.

@ Slots .....Bryan knows what he's talking about. If he said he wouldnt play there its a good idea to heed his advice.

A couple of long standing and well known support and affiliate staff do seem to have abandoned Rushmore lately.....is this a case of abandoning a sinking ship or just natural turnover of staff??

Personally I would avoid until the smoke clears a little
