RTG's Caribbean 21 lie

Realtime Gaming will learn a very well deserved lesson incident to surreptitiously recording conversations, which is a felony here in the United States.
Lest we forget these tapes were made by the player and not RTG. In fact RTG has not made any tapes. This is an issue between the player and the casino, but RTG is involved since they provide the software, etc., you know the story.

I would avoid making comments concerning what is a law, not a law, admissible in court, etc., since we are not lawyers and laws in certain jurisdictions vary. Some countries allow taping phone conversations without explicit permission; the UK for example. I think in the states it varies state by state.

Bryan I just called RTG and they say to call th Hampton so I am getting the run around. Yes I did leave a message. Hopefully they will call.
I will leave this to the wisdom of others Bryan, but I am not going to go away.

A felony. That is interesting since I did tell the manager that I was recording the conversation and he never once told me that he was recording on his end. Taped conversations are inadmissable in a court of law for that very reason.

ianal, and laws vary from state to state, but as long as one of the parties in the conversation knows that the conversation is being taped it's fine.
now if neither party knows it's being recorded (By say a third party) then it's illegal unless that third party has a valid warrant. except i guess after PATRIOT act authorities may or may not need one, so ..

Recording conversations is different state by state.

In Nevada, it is legal if one party of the conversation has given permission. In other states, all parties must give permission. Law enforcement (as a third party) can make recordings with court permission to do so, etc. etc.

Whether or not recordings are allowed in court may also vary. There was a great case in which the police made tapes of a woman discussing buying a hit on her husband with a policeman posing as a hitman!

I'm not a lawyer. I am pretty sure that any lawyer will advise his/her client to not post on public message boards. So Pirate, if we don't see ya, we're thinking of ya.

Thanks, I will leave you with this. My original posting of the PirateofC21 has been analyzed a bit too much. Remember when reading something like this that I had just won over a million. I was a bit excited. I was simply having fun. At no time was it my intent to imply improper conduct. I am not a hack. I don't need to be a hack. I can and did win on my own....Yo Ho Yo Ho a Pirates life for me.....

I wasn't sure at first, but I do think so now. I think you were feeling a little (a lot?) invincible at the time, so you came across as overly self-confident.

But I can't really blame you. I wonder how any one of the rest of us would have sounded after having won that much money?

You probably shouldn't post anymore, Pirate. Let your lawyer handle it. I hope you will get your money.

:(

I hope I will get my measly $3600 too. But I am finally beginning to doubt it.

Did the casino blame you for your posts? I just read them again: If you had just won a million from me I might find you annoying - but that's about it.

I'll find him annoying only if I am not willing to pay.
If I were a casino manager, the sound business discision is to advertise his huge win instead: "You too can win 1.3 MILLIONS from us!".
Now RTG has locked up all his accounts and hold his money. I am not sure what's really going on here so we will see.

Ditto.......

Pirate, i'd suggest posting this whole story on winneronline.com, including links to the conversations. it is a bigger forum and some people there may be able to help more than here.

this casino manager sounds like a SOB. In my guess, he is trying to trick you into making an admission of cheating promising you some cash, but once he has that on tape you won't get a dime and he will use it to "prove" you cheated.

I especially like the part about you telling him he isn't your friend. what a joke this guy is.

Remember this is a RTG casinomanager. Works different ;)

Hi aceinhole21, and welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure about that. I think it would be wise for the "Pirate" to just shut his computer off for a few days and take a break. I've already warned him that the more he opens his mouth, the more trouble he has gotten himself into.

I've spoken to all of the parties concerned, and honestly, the more that this is thrown to the wolves, the worst it gets. So far, most of you have only seen half of the story. And I'm not surprised at some of the knee-jerk responses that have been expressed.

So post away, and have a lot of fun. :D Isn't that what it's all about anyway??

Agree - there have been plenty of postings so far - and they haven't made things better :p

They simply don't have 1.3 million.
There was no problem paying this player $4000 a week. He had already received about $25,000 or so.

$4000 a week for 6.5 years is not a bad sum. I would be worried if this were coming from one of the rinky-dink RTG casinos, but I think most people will agree that Hampton's is one of the stronger of the bunch.

The money is there. The casino has no problem paying players who don't break the rules. This is the crux of the matter. You break the rules, you don't get paid; simple as that. We see it over and over and over again.

I currently have a dollar or two in RTGs myself. Be assured there's not too much fun about it from where I'm sitting. Nor Pirate's. Maybe some posters find it entertaining. Well screw them, I say.

Actually, it scares the s**t out of me.

Remember though I didn't break the rules. I simply played the game. I didn't use a robot player so that thought isn't applicable here. You still don't believe me huh Bryan. What do I need to do? You know I have a mortgage and bills to pay like anyone else only I have been wrongfully cut off from all funds. Can you explain why my other accounts have been closed and how this is an acceptable action?

Believe me $4,000.00 a week for 6.5 years is one hell of a monkey on your back and RTG (HAMPTON'S or not) would do anything and I reiterate anything to relieve themselves of that nut off the bottom line. Have a good one.

"I think you're gonna have to think about this and rethink your priorities and see where you wanna be. I'm not talking about bringing law enforcement into the picture. That's always a possibility but I'm not gonna go down that road. What I'm talking about. I dont wanna meet in another point on the road and then you'll find out what we do here and let me just tell you then, you (sic) will be no turning back. You won't be able to get back to the point where we are right now. Right now we are standing here like friends."

What do you think he meant by this?

Before we start posting excerpts from the script, let's please keep in mind this is probably a small portion of the conversation. Some things may be taken out of context, thus causing future embarrassment for the player.

This is what I think it means...you should have stuck to your agreement. Now this agreement is probably null and void - thus no turning back.

Again Pirateofc21, I've warned you about being too vocal and just chill for awhile. You're going to end up sinking your own ship - and then there will really be NO turning back.

LOL, I know Bryan and I have different perspectives, but I read that a little different. I would say it's a barely-concealed death threat.

This is what you heard. And like I said before, this is out of context; you are not privvy to the entire conversation. It is referring to something else. Pirateofc21 has selected these sections for you to hear.

This whole frigging thing amazes me.
