Re-open account 3-Dice

After reading the site I noticed some new slots at 3Dice.
Since I had closed the account a while back I sent them an e-mail today to reopen it.
I received no reply so went on their chat and requested it be re-opened, the answer was "We have a three day waiting period". This does not make make sense to me. I can understand it when a person closes an account and a few hours later decides to reopen which could be a problem but I would think the 3 day rule is like a cooling off period. It has been a long time since I closed the account, guess they have enough customers I'll go elsewhere.

With due respect, I actually applaud 3 Dice for this course of action. You could have wanted to reopen your account and bet on the spur of the moment whereas your earlier decision to close an account came as a result of much consideration. The casino will not be able to determine which is the 'real you'. Financially, they stand to lose by not reopening your account immediately. However, I think this move is sensible if 'possible problem gamblers' can cool off. I do not mean though that you could be a problem gambler.

If you truly want to play at 3 dice - you'll do it in 3 days time.

Everything should not be INSTANT - and 3dice does have the best customer support.

I would suggest that the 3 day waiting period should be for the guy who quit on the so called spur of the moment. How many times has a person had a losing streak and thought about quitting. So he quits on Monday and Tuesday he decides to re-open his account . I can see a waiting period then. But someone who closes an account for whatever reason months ago or that matter years ago is like a new customer, should a new customer have a 3 day waiting period?

I for one don't have accounts open all over the place, I've opened accounts at many places but close them when I decide to go elsewhere, I may be wrong but I believe that offers me some protection.

That's like the guy who goes to his favorite bar and tells the bartender that he is going to quit drinking, a year later goes back to the bar and the bartender says sorry Joe but we have a 3 day waiting period, come back in 3 days then I can serve you.

Enough of this nanny state we have become, I learned a long time ago how to dress myself.

Sorry for the rant, but with what is happening to the good old U.S.A. with all it's crazy spending, rules and regulations I sometimes think the world is going crazy. I pay my taxes, pay my bills when they are do, and worked all my life, Now I am told I have a 3 day waiting period to spend a dollar! I don't care if I every gamble at 3Dice again , there are at least a hundred on line sites and probably 6 land based sites within an hour of my home.

We give people free food, free money, freed housing , free education, free medical care and a host of other goodies, but one of the guys paying for that is told he has a 3 day waiting period to spend his own money!!!!!!

Hmmmm - while I kinda agree with you in principle - NOT IN THE GAMBLING INDUSTRY.

Why?

Because a LOT of people have severe addictions - and are IMPULSE people.

In my humble opinion - 3dice is adhering to RESPONSIBLE GAMING PRACTICES - and you might want to rethink this.

Gambling is - at times - an EVIL thing for SOME people - and 3 dice has held themselves above and beyond the average for this issue.

As a RESPONSIBLE CASINO - they give you the option to play with them - however - give you a cooling down period of 3 days ---- JUST IN CASE THIS IS AN IMPULSE moment.

REmember - for whatever reasons YOU closed your account.

THey cannot be babysitters for every person - so their policy is to protect EVERYONE - not just you.

And I think they did the RIGHT thing.

Hope you're not too angry with them - because I really believe that their actions make them stand out against ALL the other casinos.

From a practical point of view, and future reference, there are several options you can use apart from closing your account that are there to align with a break from 3Dice. For starters, you could chose to do nothing, and simply abandon the account. In this scenario, you would receive promotional emails until your loyalty status drops (number of weeks), after which you would only receive a further new years and birthday bonus. You can also chose to have your email excluded from our list in which case you would receive absolutely no further communication from us. Lastly, you could chose to disable your deposits - and still enjoy other perks like the VIP tournaments that came with the loyalty you gathered.

If you do chose to close your account - it will always come with a 3 day cool down period, and depending on the situation or communication at the time of closing, we will also ask for a motivation to make really sure that we are enabling someone's entertainment - and not someone's problem.

I hope you understand our position, and I hope you chose to be a part of a better reputation for online gambling.

This mandatory 72 hour cooling off period is an excellent idea and one that should be introduced industry wide.

At 3Dice, accounts that have not been active for 180 days are closed. In this situation I am sure 3Dice would have no reason to make a player wait those
3 days. However when a player voluntarily requests his account to be closed then the 3 day period is wholly justified.

The main reason why a player would make such a request to close an account is because of mounting losses. Mounting losses are a reliable indicator of problem gambling. If it were for any other reason then the player would simply leave the account dormant.

If the players reason for closing the account was for any other reason than mounting losses, then how would he be aware 3Dice have new games, as he would have no interest in this casino.

When a player closes his account he will receive confirmation of this by email. Included in this confirmation is information on what happens if a new account is opened, this includes the 3 day waiting period.

My advice to the OP is next time you feel like taking a break from gambling, you might be better advised sending in a self exclusion form. Where you will not be able to open any new accounts. I suggest this because a key indicator of problem gambling is frustration of not being able to play instantly. A trait you have clearly demonstrated in this thread.

Well done 3Dice for putting these extra safeguards in place and not putting profit first.

They no about my kids, at xmas sent out gifts, they allways go out of there way for me as well as others. I may loose quite a bit, but at least they know my name compared to other places where you cant even get live chat. We all complain about how other casinos do this and do that well dont complain about a casino that was doing something for the right reason. They had YOUR WELLFARE IN MIND when they made that rule.. I think you should thank them. Or go spend your money somewhere else.

How come you did not inquire if you could enjoy free play username while you waited for the real account to be restored? That is what I would have done. I am unaware if this is even possible, but certainly seems reasonable to try the games. Besides what if after you played them as free you decided you did not like them and changed your mind again?

I I had to choose either only 5 casinos online total , but run like your 3Dice
or the dozens of other distant seconds, or have 2000 RTG;s or MG's by the hundreds, who never let me ply the new fun games.

I would rather have those 5 only because I could play without fear and always get paid.

Although I gotta admit some casinos that dont allow US have some cool games like the ones in the land based casinos. (Monopoly, and other big Name Brand slots)

I too don't need my boss telling me that I can't sky-dive because I might get injured and not be able to work all on my dime of course. How this relates to the other posts I don't know.

However, I also agree with 3Dice if it is in the terms and conditions somewhere or in their responsible gaming information. Never checked since it seems the older I get, the faster three days would go by anyway.

Telling someone they can't skydive is stupid. Telling someone they can't skydive without a parachute is rather important.

Rules are put in place to protect people who can't protect themselves. Addicts sometimes fall into this catagory and there's no way any casino can weed out who's an addict and who isn't.

If you really want to reopen your account then just tell them and come back in a few days. If nothing else you know 3Dice isn't in a huge rush to take your money.

I've been a regular and satisfied customer for almost two years there. This is not to be confused with a winning customer

Great support, fast payments and a ton of free tournaments. There is a limited slot selection, but they are really great games IMO. They are slowly expanding their stable of games as well.
