Playing from Restricted Countries, but registered from unrestricted countries

Hi All,
Its me again.
Just a hypothetical situation, wherein, lets say, if I am registered from a country (A) that does not prohibit / restrict gambling and I have proof of identity of the citizenship of Country A,and lets say I travel to a country (B) on work or on vacation, that is restricted by the online casinos, can I still play with my original account from Country A, while I am physically located in Country B? Or will that be a violation of the T&Cs and subsequently any winnings, will be refused to be paid out?

I can't really generalise because not all casinos will have the same policies over this, but I would think that in most cases it would be OK.

Some could block you by IP address; I know Wagerworks do this because when I go to the Czech Republic I can't log in or play at any of their casinos, even though I've had accounts for years!

Allow me to be the first to take a stab at this.

I'll start with some sound advice.... if you're about to do anything you think there is the slightest chance your poker room/casino might frown upon, ask them first. Mail them explaining your plans and ask if this will be a problem. Don't call them... get the reply in writing.

If you have a long relationship with your casino, and have played there for a long time, and explain that you will be playing from a different IP for a couple of weeks while on Holidays, I would expect this to be ok with many rooms.

If, however, you have just registered with a UK address (for example), and are off to a restricted country for a lengthy work placement, then they will smell a rat and rightly so. They would not want people exploiting such an allowance to circumvent the rules so anyone considering this as a long term plan... don't.

Then there is the issue of IP restrictions. If a particular country is barred from playing online then many casino's will have blocks on IP addresses from that country anyway, leaving you out of luck. It's possible these blocks could be lifted, but again only if you were smart enough to clear this in advance with the room.

KK and PR. Thanks a ton, this really helps..Fact of the matter is, I would not be claiming any bonuses etc, but will be playing with my money..Hopefully that should keep me in good stead with the Casinos...Cheers..

All depends on the way their verification works. Some places base it on IP, some places say 'oh, he's verified and uses a legitimate bank account, so he can play wherever he likes'.

WW do the first of these and say 'US IP, get stuffed' whilst Playtech do the latter.

Not sure why the difference, just how the platforms were coded I suppose!
