And yet the UKGC's intent made sense, up to a point

"1. Remove Quickspin and Turbo Mode
2. Remove Spin Stop and Slam Stop
3. Minimum Spin Speed of 2.5 Seconds
4. Prohibit Multiple Gameplay on a Single Gaming Client"

Objectively, those fall in line with promoting Responsible Gambling when all's said and done. No sense in e.g limiting stakes to £2 but then allowing quickspin or slam-stop.

No point in promoting SoW and Reverse Withdrawal abolishment but then allowing players to play 4 games on 4 different tabs at 50p each stake.

The '2.5 second' rule is somewhat annoying but if incorporated to the 'symbol-reveal overall speed' it's barely noticeable.

What is troublesome at how quickly the UKGC implement these changes without any real precursor, because when compared to Sweden, or Germany's 5-second delays, I can see them following suit, and simply not stopping until they've neutered slotting as a fun pastime. Who's going to gamble when the games become unplayable?

You could record yourself playing like the youtubers do, setup autoplay for the max spins, go and make a coffee then come back, watch the footage on fastplay and see the end result? Problem solved I remember when you could play the national lottery instants without even playing the game, god that was soul destroying!

Absolute bonkers. Games becoming a chore to play. Loved a quick 100 spins on turbo on the prags.

Jaw dropping move. UKGC really have no clue when it comes what best moves to make to protect vulnerable gamblers. Their move is essentially, and isn’t it always, to royally piss off the majority when there are so many better options available. 2.5 seconds is just a ridiculous amount of time per spin.

I disagree. 2.5 is comfortable. 3 seconds is slow and promotes boredom which can lead to anger. Not the best for a slot player.

From experience, I know slam stop is extremely dangerous.

As a UK player, I'll take 2.5 seconds. In this case I think they've got it right.

Playing 1 line on BOD is now an absolute ballache. Knowing you can go 150 spins before hitting a 5x win, not being able to bash stop start to reach that it quicker, means they'll probably lose less playthrough from those who liked to have the odd session doing that. Like me.
Though i guess they can make up for the small loss in takings if they want, thanks to PnG offering them lower rtp versions.
After reading somewhere here recently about there possibly being an 84% version of BOD on some bitcoin casino, One can only imagine how thrilling that would be on 1line with this restriction in place. wew.

It would have been nice if these functions were disabled as standard, but then you can opt-in to re-enable them. Blanket shutting-out just tars everyone with the same brush and stops players deciding how they wish to spend their money. Players will now spend less money and RTPs will come down/tax will go up in order to make up the losses in revenue. No-one really wins, do they?
Some bloke died the other day from eating too much licquorice. Quick, remove it from the shelves because one person cannot control their eating habits!

I think 92% is as low as they are allowed to go if operating with a mga license.
Videoslots for example have been running red tiger at 92% for ages now.

Does the UKGC have any rules regarding rtp for casinos operatiing on the UK market?
I just looked at Spelinspektionen (Swedish gambling commission) but didnt find anything.

I think a big problem with all the rules&regulations implemented are that they are 100% focused on helping/saving problem gamblers or people who want to stop gambling.
Where are the rules about a minimum 95% rtp, or max 30x wager on bonuses, i mean rules that would actually improve the market for people who choose to gamble.

Sure, a delay on spins and max bets are fine, but the casinos will just lower rtp to make their profits stay the same. So who really gets screwed in the end?

Looks like fast spin has now gone from Netent - certainly gone from VS anyway!

Those Clash of Spins are going to be hard work on VS now...

But seriously, three cheers for the UKGC though eh? Fantastic job they're doing with their fun-sponge!
At least players can still click max bet by mistake, or wrap their bet selection around to £50 a spin, so we're good to go! Drink it in lads! Safe gambling here we come!

The absolute fucking state of this country...

Slam stop and turbo spin was good for some tournaments based on number of spins or highest multiplier, good for grinding through WR on small stakes too.seems to be all but gone everywhere, pragmatic took theirs off at Grosvenor over the weekend.
Makes you wonder if one single person at the UKGC has actuallly ever played at a casino with their own money
and said this this not a brilliant idea.Every month or so they seem to come up with something to make playing
harder or less enjoyable, what gives them the right to interfere with what is a perfectly legal pastime with regulations that benifit no one ,players or casinos, Surely there a far bigger issues in the country like covid
and brexit than bloody 3 second spins.
