Hi,
I do not know if you know who Paula Deen is. But, at this point, the wise woman hunt has gone beyond ridiculous.
After seeing story after story of stores and businesses cancelling deals with her, I decided I needed to read the entire deposition. I did. All 149 pages.
The deposition:
I now fully believe they are on a serious wise woman hunt for which she has not really done anything to deserve.
Companies that have abandoned her:
Wal-Mart
Kmart
JCPenneys
Home Depot
Barnes & Noble
Sears
QVC
Target
Smithfield Foods
Food Network
Caesars Palace
Novo Nordisk
Ballantine Books (This is the publisher that had contract to publish ( October?) her newest book which is #1 at Amazon.) Now the deal is off.
There may be more.
It seems the press is more hung up on the N-word than other parts of the deposition. That was not mentioned much at all in the deposition.
The person who initiated the suit was a manager for one of their restaurants. She, Miss Jackson, submitted a proposal to change "Bubbas'" restaurant to a buffet. Paula said no to this proposal.
Shortly after that, Miss Jackson called in sick to work, again, again and again. Finally calling one last time to say she would not be coming back at all.
Shortly after leaving the company she filed the suit. (suspicious?)
If Paula did anything, according to the deposition, she stuck up for her brother (who does seem to be somewhat offensive). And she did admit to saying the "N-word" in the PAST. But again, the deposition did not dwell on this subject.
This whole situation is so WRONG, I just can't get it out of my head. How many people can HONESTLY say, they never, EVER, did/say/do something they are not proud of?

Is there another disposition somewhere? Or did the Black attorney just make things up? If true about these other persistent racist actions and attitudes from Paula, then yes, that changes the picture of her. But why did weesie and other people did not see in the disposition these other actions mentioned by the Black attorney? Wrong disposition?
