Online Casinos

Well it's either Havana Club Casino which just came on board or it's the "Fake Casino" that is lingering amongst the others.

In celebration of Casinomeister's fifth anniversary, a new contest was launched, "Spot the Fake Casino". There's a banner ad floating around somewhere, you've gotta find it...

Shhh! No fair telling!

Dear Bryan,
Thank you so much for the info on Kiwi casino. I was going to give Slots.com a shot, but I read that they are licensed in Costa Rica and I looked at my notes and I saw that you said Costa Rica cannot issue gambling licenses. Your knowledge is very helpful Bryan. Much appreciation for all that you do. I must make a visit to your "wish list", a nice person like you should have all his wishes come true.

This post advises that as at 2:00am 4th July 2003 (GMT), Gainsborough Glades Services Ltd (GGS) ceased to operate 747Casino.

GGS stresses that all player deposits and payments are secure, and are not under threat in anyway. If you have money or winnings deposited with 747Casino, it is held securely by Cyber Finance Investments Limited.

Over the past month or so, a dispute arose between Aqua Distributors Limited, the company who provided GGS with the casino software, that could not be resolved. As a consequence of an inability to resolve this dispute, Gainsborough Glades Services Limited is forced to wind-up.

It is important for players to appreciate that GGS is in no way is suggesting the Aqua Distributors Limited has acted in any way that should cause players any concerns whatsoever. The services and support that has been provided by Aqua to GGS, has been of the highest order, and continues to be so for the other casinos supported by Aqua.

All questions and issues you may have should be directed to [email protected], which is the Support Desk of 747Casino, operated by Aqua Online (Intl).

GGS thanks you for your patronage, apologises for the obvious inconvenience this causes, and urges you to continue to enjoy the games and promotions offered by casinos supported by Aqua and Cyber Finance Investments.

If a casino says it uses "posted loss limits"

what does that mean please?

(I can't find an proper explanation using google.)

Hi, I received an email today from Carnival Casino. It offered a 200% sign up bonus, however, you were NOT allowed to play any games except slots. You are not even allowed to play video poker. I thought this was so insane, that I had to write to the Manager and ask him exactly how many players are able to meet the wagering requirements of 25X (which in itself in nuts) on a $300 bankroll. I am starting to find more and more problems pop up every day in this online industry. I am starting to wonder if it would not be such a bad idea to ban online gambling. I get sick everytime I hear of someone getting ripped off and there is someone new every day. The most aggravating part of it all, is that these site owners are untouchable. They suffer no penalties, or anything. Its the player that gets the "banana in the tailpipe" every single time.

hello
I found a very good casino online..it's the casino solei. I was a players of many other and I think this is quite good...expecialy the customer servirs, they are so polite and nice...and I played the live roulette, it's really exciting...
let me know if i am right or not!!!
have fun

I'm starting to think that, casino's don't actually want players to take up the bonuses.

Which IMO ( bonuses ) are a pain in the butt!

I prefer to play what I like & withdraw when I like, without restrictions.

Linda I am with you. I have posted several times that I will be glad when the owners of brick and mortal casinos comes online. All of these moms and pops sites that pops up and can't afford to payout $100 is a joke. I have been screwd plenty of times and knows it. The sad thing is like you said the owners are untouchable. I sometimes want to fly all the way to Costa Rico just to kick some of thier a$$, on a surprise attack. Doesn't matter who. Just as long as they work for that company, I am satified! Yes file complaints and get this stuff regulated.

I'm sorry to be a moaning mussy again, but I'm not impressed with Kiwi so far. The BJ software treated me badly, which happens. But when I tried to take out what remained of my deposit (less than half of it) some time after ten turns the software refused to allow it. I have since played and lost some more, and still couldn't withdraw. Their terms and conditions say no amounts greater than deposit can be withdrawn until 20x, and then there is something else about less than 10x. I have played more than 10x and am not trying to take out more than my deposit. Unless I am missing something, I should be okay to withdraw now.

I have emailed twice in a week, using two different addresses, and only received one automated 'we'll get back to you real soon' message. Now my firewall is putting me on edge by saying the Kiwi casino engine has changed since it last ran. Presumably this is because it has added games in the background while I was playing, but it's just winding me up so much the way hardly anything in this business happens as advertised that I'm even nervous about running the software now.

I, normally, just like to take the sign on bonus (if any at all). However, Carnival's signup was so ridiculous, that I had to post here.
I think there is only one person busting his butt to try to keep this industry on the up and up and that is Bryan (Jetset and Spearmaster, too). I understand your frustration murder1. Perhaps, we should all try to see if we file the complaint as indicated by fester, we can make a difference. Bryan, what do you think?

Jeez - another inept, half-witted spammer, presumably from Croatia. I've emailed Casino Solei pointing out that this cretin is not doing them any favours with this behaviour.

These guys are making mistakes - there was an drawn-out payment issue with them earlier this year and they have been supporting a casino-turned-portal called Six Gun which screwed a number of players when it closed without warning recently.

Carnival Casino is a shithole.
-changing terms retroactively
-cheating on bonus
-voiding winnings
-slow payments
-dumb customer support

This 'casino' has it all.

I've played @ CARNIVAL a total of (3) times initially with the bonus that is mentioned here.

On all three of the aforementioned occasions I cashed in sizeable withdrawals and was paid with absolutely zero delay and/or hassle.

As far as this bonus situation is concerned. I cannot understand why so many people are so hell bent and determined to get these bonuses.

I'm 56 years old and pretty much from the "old school", or so to speak. If I deposit with a Casino I'd much rather deposit my funds on a dollar for dollar basis. If I lose, I lose and I walk away. If I win, I go to the cage and cash in my winnings and then I walk away.

I've seen far too many horror stories on this and other sites as to how bonuses have turned around only to bite people in the rear.

Just remember "In the mind of the mooch, hope, burns eternal.

Me too cipher, I've played there a few times and I think I lost $100 once, broke even the next time and won about $350 the last time.

The first cashin took about 12 days, I forget why, but the last one was in my neteller account in 5 days. And I was playing on bonuses each time.

cipher, that's terrific that you prefer not playing with bonuses. I'm sure that online casinos prefer dealing with "old schoolers" like you. However, casinos have obviously concluded that they can generate more business by offering incentives to prospective players who would not otherwise be customers. This is no different from land-based casinos, of course, which offer all sorts of incentives to get people in the door. Nor is it different, for that matter, from any other business promotion.

These incentives and promotions are effective -- they get some of us "new schoolers" in the doors, when we might not otherwise play in their casinos. So they earn more money because they successfully persuade us to play. Is it any wonder, then, that we insist on getting what was promised to us? We don't mind losing money in a casino -- we accept this as a consequence of gambling. But we cannot accept our business being solicited with lies.

You have it wrong -- we're not "hell bent and determined to get" bonuses. We're walking along the Strip (or surfing through the web) and these casinos are shouting at us: "Come play here and we'll give you $100!" Sometimes we keep walking (or surfing), but sometimes we decide to give them a try.

We simply demand that a business follows through on its promises. If the apples are advertised as $1/bag, then we had better not see $1.50 on the register when we check out. For you to characterize our insistence on honesty in business incentives as "mooching" is totally unfair, and implies that we are somehow morally blameworthy when we are scammed.

You are entitled to play and choose businesses however you like, but you need to recognize that those of us who are influenced by promotions (who you think of as "moochers") represent a huge market share for businesses. There is no reason why businesses can't use promotions and incentives to increase their profits while at the same time being honest and following through on promises.

I got an account with Acescasino.com, won a little bit of money to go along with their bonus, and now I requested a check. Just now looking around and noticing that not too many Starnet casino's are still around. Haven't had any problems yet but just want to know what you all think about Starnet. Thanks!

Amen to that! I'll be first to admit, I'm brand new school and bonuses are definitely what will bring me in the door.

I saw it before I knew there was a contest and immediately thought, "Wow, they'll name a casino anything nowadays, but if they're on casinomeister.com, they've gotta be straight!" Right? LOL

Colin Caster, imagine yourself loading a gun (say a 6 shot Saturday Night Special).

Picture loading each and everyone one of those (6)rounds into the gun. Now imagine yourself needing to use this gun to save your life but then all of a sudden you realize you've only loaded this gun with blanks.

In short when you go looking for bonuses that you know are near impossible to collect on you're only begging to be cut to pieces, in much the same way you would be cut to pieces if you were to try to use a gun loaded with blanks.

LASTLY, THERE IS NO VALUE IN BONUSES, ZERO, ZIP, NADA and your're only doing yourself a disservice in chasing them. That is exactly why 90% of the Casinos on the Internet advertise these bonuses.

What I've experienced with CARNIVAL has been absolutely as advertised at every turn in the road.

Your experiences may differ from that of mine but, that is not to say that I don't respect and appreciate your opinions just the same as I would expect that my opinions expressed herein would be respected as well.

Lastly, over the past 5 to 6 years I've taught the game of Blackjack to a great many Players and over that period of time I've discovered there are certain facts that should not be sugar coated.

JPM, Can you please tell me your theory on bonuses. I respect your opinion and you have always given me such helpful advice. I am sorry to always bother you with my questions. When I start becoming a pain in the butt, please tell me.

Gratefully yours, Linda

Looks like World Gaming (http://www.worldgamingplc.co.uk/) is what Starnet changed into but all the software never did too good with Y2K, the years all read 19103.

No problem Linda, you're not bothering me. I typically only play at MG, Playtech, and Cryptologic casinos now that almost all the RTGs are rogues, so with that in mind here's what I do.

First I check which games are banned. Typically its craps, baccarat & roulette. Many are now adding BJ to that list too. That doesn't bother me. If they ban videopoker as well, then I won't take it, since I primarily play vp.

If its less than say 25%, then I usually won't bother with it unless the wagering requirements are very reasonable (for instance, only requiring 1x deposit and up to say 5x bonus for something so small). The neteller bonuses that alot of casinos 'give' you (5%) usually are not worth it since they require 5x or more playthru of depost + bonus, which makes it ridiculous.

For 100% bonus, if the wagering requirements are less that 15x deposit + bonus, I'll probably do it. For 50% if its 10x or less, I'll probably take it.

Sometimes you'll get a 150% or even 200% offer (Club Dice & Carnival do this) with high (20x or more) wagering requirements. I will probably give these a try since it is such a high bonus, and I've been pretty successful with them.

If they have a maximum cashin clause, like you're limited to cashing in 10x the bonus received, I'll probably pass on it. Never know when the big one will hit. And of course the general rule of thumb I use is: If the bonus rules are too complex to understand the first time you read them, or if they are ambiguous, then don't do it. And its a good idea to copy the bonus rules page into your computer in case there is a dispute later on. Be sure you copy it on the day you get the bonus too, preferably as soon as you get it.

Hope that helps.

I forgot to add this. Some casinos will run contests and then require the player to wager their 'prize' 10x or more before cashin. In my opinion, that is not a prize. I won't even bother entering those contests if the playthru is more than 5x (which I think is still high, but not ridiculous). Might as well just give back the money if its that high.

Well I probably won't try to deal with them anymore but I was just wondering if I'll see my money that I requested. Also has anyone else had problems with these guys? I didn't see anything about them on any of Meister's lists. Any help is appreciated.

Starnet became World Gaming on their headquarters move to London and a public listing after all sorts of trouble with the authorities in Canada, jayrsone.

However, although their gambling suite was not the most exciting around they generally could be relied upon to pay their dues to players.

Unfortunately that didn't last past March 2002 when nine or ten of their casinos using the version three software went rogue on an overly generous promo and screwed a large number of players. You can read about that in the Casinomeister archives.

I think that capped a string of misfortunes and poor management that had brought the company to a low point. Despite many protests to the then CEO Michael Aymong they refused to do the right thing and offered return of deposits only.

Around about the same time they were in hock to Sportingbet for over a million-and-a-half US$ with payments looming.

Then there were all sorts of management disputes and *musical chairs*

Long story short, they were taken over by Sportingbet which put one of their very experienced guys from Australia, Daniel Moran in the driving seat earlier this year.

From what I can see, he has been doing a good job of cutting costs and getting WG back to its core business successfully. They haven't said a lot (mainly weeding the old WG people off the Board) but they're sorting out the software too and I think we may see something of a return as a reasonably creditable company in the not-too-distant future.

In the meantime and until they come right I would hold off on gambling at WG-powered sites, especially any remaining from that last disgraceful episode where players were screwed.

oh my god, what will they come up with next, I would really hate to lose too much cash on my cell phone, hell the bills are already pretty high. Am I the only one that thinks this is a really bad idea?? C'Mon, its like they are trying every trick in the book to make you get addicted to gambling, sheesh.

BTW, where can I get one, hee hee

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well :) !

I just went over to play at 32Red and suddenly realised that they've done away with the US dealer voice and got a cool sexy lady!! I checked in with support and they've told me it's Patsy Kensit! I only played the flash version but support said the download version was being updated as well and should be available for download!

Still didn't do as well there as I would have liked however!! But it's better losing to her voice...LOL

Anyway - you'll have to check it out and let me know what you think!!

Cheers,
Ben.

Hi everyone i was wonderinf if anyone knows of any other casinos that let you withdraw your deposit before having to meet the bonus requirements. Eg depositing $40 in willhill gets you $80 with your bonus. But you can still withdraw that $40 at any time before meeting the bonus requirements.

I currently like WillHill, INtercasino and Omnicasino for this and all seem reliable with payouts.

Is there any others anyone knows off?

I wouldn't dare play at super vegas casino again. I played carribean poker and lost 5 hands in a row with no pair. I up'ed my bet to $25 and receive 3 aces and dealer didnt qualify. Next hand didn't make a pair. Dealer pairs with 2s. I then goto craps. I always press on 6 and 8. I crap out 6 times in a row. Didn't make ONE FUGGING POINT. Not one! "...Fool Me Once Shame On You. Fool...Can't Get Fooled Again." - GW Bush

Thanks for the info jetset!

The casino said they would let me know after 24-48 hrs if my check was on the way and it's almost day 3 now, so I'll be calling them pretty soon to see what's up. I'll keep this updated.

Taking back my slam on americascardroom, the poker room of betris although their software has issues, every time there is an issue the support team always fixes with money refunded plus extra for trouble, any problems at all are fixed without question. Maybe cause ive given them so much action. Their promos are sick, free $100's a week. Also, paradise poker always told me it was illegal in costa rica to send withdraws by western union, something ACR has been happy to do....AT THEIR EXPENSE! I just think paradise doesnt want to offer that quick withdrawal option. I asked this question earlier, why should i be careful of costa rican casinos? are the ones i talk about legit? betcris took over a rogue (1bet.com) that bounced me a check but paid eventually this doesnt mean betcris is bad news just cause a takeover was does it? I've always thought betcris was huge and legit. Just curious. I dont think Costa Rican ones are licensed, how many of these places are? I know, it looks like an ad for them, its really not. I slammed them in this section earlier, just making it right after they have done alot of work to fix it up.

Costa Rica DOES NOT LICENSE casinos and sportbooks. They merely provide BUSINESS LICENSES for them to operate in CR.
