The drug Trump was referring to has been proven to be effective - albeit for malaria, not for COVID-19. Taking it to try to prevent oneself falling ill with Coronavirus might have made you very, very ill (the symptoms you, Greylady and myself have outlined earlier in this thread proves that) but it is unlikely to kill you. Or even prevent COVID-19 as that is still a major unknown.

Unlike fish tank cleaner, which will kill you.

They saw Chloroquine, do you think they read any further than that? I don't.

Chloroquine can easily kill you if you overdose by just by 1mg, IIRC.

Hydro-Chloroquine is far less potent.

They took chloroquine phosphate - a fish tank cleaner. This cannot be blamed on Trump but on their inability to understand that this product was NOT what Trump or any other doctor, including those in the French trial, meant.

Chloroquine phosphate was not even vaguely alluded to by Trump, so as tragic as the outcome was in this particular case was, sometimes people can be very stupid.

He’s doing a poor job for several reasons:

• He didn’t act months ago when other governments around the world were preparing for a pandemic. The US could have been gathering or manufacturing PPE, ventilators, etc for the last 2 months. Instead, they are scrambling now in the middle of a crisis.
• He actively spouted misinformation about Covid-19 causing many Americans to deny there is a pandemic problem right to to this very day. He downplayed for months the enormity of what is coming. Only at the 11th hour was he convinced to declare a state of emergency.
• He continues to tell people there is going to be a cure for Covid-19 and that a vaccine is just around the corner. Spoiler: there are no “cures” for viral infections and vaccines take a year to a year and a half to develop..
• He makes every press conference about him. Last week the stock market tanked every time he spoke on tv. So much so, they had to stop trading at one point to prevent disaster.

I could go on but there isn’t much point. People that support him will continue to do so no matter what. Facts and examples will not make a difference. The cognitive dissonance involved to maintain support for this incompetent narcissist must be incredible.

Personally, I believe he has frontotemporal dementia. His mental deterioration in the last year has become extremely apparent. I won’t bore you with examples. A doctor friend of mine says he and his colleagues don’t dispute Trump has dementia, they just disagree about what stage he’s in.
