No GUTS/RIZK/BETSPIN/NETENT for Canada

:eek2:
Oh dear......GUTS might be my fave, but I've dumped the other casinos where I can't play NetEnt either, sooooo....

Heads up Canuckleheads

We regret to inform you that one of our most popular casino game providers, Netent, is no longer offering its games in Canada as of tomorrow, the 26th May 2016.
This will not adversely affect your Guts account and apart from the exclusion of these games, we will still remain the same casino & sportsbook offering a great selection of games, promotions and rewards.
All future casino promotions in Canada will feature fantastic games from other top-notch providers that still have the ability to offer their games for your pleasure.

I'd guess at least 70% of my play at Guts is on NetEnt. That's no fun.

Truly. I joined GUTS back when for the multi-platform idea. But if there's only MG (plus a few other games), other casinos offer the whole range of MG vs the limited selection. Quite the bummer.

No other casino emails so wonder which, if any aside from Rizk and BetSpin are going to follow suit.

If i were still in Canada, i'd be super upset right now.

Well, Not as upset as i am about not having had a timmies in about 7 months.

Lol, that's probably at least as long as it takes for the Timmy's-Crack to work out of your system :D

If that means that all casinos will eventually no longer carry NetEnt in Canada then I can't play at casinos with smaller lineups. I'll have to stay with Video Slots Online and Slots Million. Haven't gotten any e-mails yet from them but I should talk with their agents about this.

I am not Canadian but I view this as terrible news for everyone. Personal freedoms being taken away again because of politicians and money. Makes my blood boil.

Don't these law makers realise prohibition has never worked and will never work in the future? Futile stupid exercise.

It doesnt even make sense. Guts wording suggests that it's across the board, but Ive talked to other casinos and they haven't heard anything. Thats why it needs to be verified

I just talked to Videoslots, Nik checked and he said they have not heard anything. Is this just confined to Guts? Can anyone validate?

Each casino has separate contracts with the slot providers and I have gone to VSO and Slots Million and they both said they won't be dropping Net Ent tomorrow. So, it looks like only GUTS and their affiliates are dropping Net Ent as they didn't renew. I don't play at GUTS so it doesn't affect me but if VSO and Slots Million did, then yes. I don't play a lot of Net Ent, maybe 35% of the time, but it would be a significant loss.

Are you sure about that?

We offer NetEnts live Casino at our site, but due to licenses the developers cannot offer it to all regions, Canada for one is excluded.

Best regards,
Daniel.

That email Dionysus copy posted in the OP quite clearly states Netent themselves are pulling out of Canada.

If things are in fact not like that and it is simply Guts that are stopping Canadians from accessing NetEnt then that is completely different - and someone should have their legs slapped for sending such a scary email out.

Recent in the VS thread on the board

Not sure why you took my comment and said " are you sure about that", with a outdated comment by Dan that has nothing to do with this thread. Especially knowing it was live not regular play, and people have been playing regular since that post. Seems like trouble making to me, and sorry not my gig. Peace out :)

Dear Jennifer,

Thank you for contacting our support earlier today.

It seems that our chat got cut off, unfortunately. Nothing will change for us as far as we know regarding Netenet. Could you please provide with the link were you found this information. Thank you in advance.

Looking forward for your answer.

Best regards,

:( :(

yeah....very sad, although, is it only Slots or Live Casino...humm

If they pull out of Canada its pretty much RIP online casino for me. My fav slots are netent. secret of the stones, victorious, lost island, dead or alive, flowers, neon staxx, space wars (although it would save me money not playing this one), steamtower, wishmaster...wonky wabbits

omg at the thought of no more DOA...sad panda

Er, no? How is that comment 'outdated' seeing as it was posted..gee, TODAY. You and I've a very different definition of outdated.
And I'm well aware live play is a different bag of apples. The key point was 'but due to licenses the developers ' and whether licensing would expant to other casinos and in what manner. So what does it have to do with this thread? The fact this thread is about NetEnt and Canadiains and that others mentoned VS.

And as above you can see the Captain has expounded - 'The information that I have had through Net Ent is that this is a network wide IP blockage and it will come into force tomorrow. '

It's not trouble-making as you like to call it. It's working with information at hand freely posted. If it's not your gig, no worries - I'm Canadian and I happen to care as it directly affects where I play.

that it was just a licensing issue, and Guts chose not to renew....We will see tomorrow whether
it goes "system wide" or not.
I for one will be very sad to see DOA go.

Lol, ya - I've still never entered the 'wildline club' :D

Maybe paying for a liscence that could be problematic soon is not a good gamble for guts. Canadian government are dumb as f.ck when it comes to gambling. In a year or two, the only place canucks will be able to play online slots is provincial sh.t casinos like espace jeux and play olg. When they will realize a negative customer increase, I hope they choke and die on their own d.cks. I hate my country so much.

Lol, well, I can see Canuckleheads following the US trend..in time. Skrill down, provincial online casinos up. But we've liberals in (pro most things otherwise taboo) and notoriously we're pokey for laws on the books (look at weed and prostitution). We've always been grey area for lots of things - til theyre not.

Maybe in the verrrrry long run, it's wise. For the interim, all GiG is doing is sending their Ca customers to the competition...and if the laws change one way or the other, it'll be hard slow crawl to bring them back.

I'm PRO GUTS - but I'm going to play, well, where I can actually play.

ps I love my country - wouldnt trade it for anywhere.

I wonder whether this is connected to Netent's openly stated ambitions in the US?

It will be interesting to see whether Captain Rizk's prediction of a network-wide ban in Canada turns out to be correct.

That certainly will suck. :eek2: First we lost Rival, then IGT/WMS lock downs....now NetEnt? Even Microgaming bowed to licensing when it came to Playboy. I'd hate to be stuck as Americans are, becuase frankly, RTG blows dirty donkey bits.

Missing NetEnt will be obvious hurt - thankfully, all my really big wins have been MG.

Never mind an American having to marry a Canadian to play online - I may have to do some Euro online dating :D

There is something to be said about this, besides the very rare win on DOA almost all of my majors have been on MG, before my crazy win run last month I very rarely played standalone MG casinos anymore, I went back and hit some epic wins, variety is nice but wins make the difference.

hah sounds like a Plan! :D

Well, yeah....it's not really our country, it's a very few Rich guys who owns it all....same things happen with the USA, main reason Online Gambling law has Passed was that Billionaire Mr Sheldon Adelson who bought a few friends in Politics.....that way, they'll get more customers in land based Casino, it's all About controlling the Market......and Not for kids protection and that bla bla Politics stuff or w/e...

anyways....Are you from Montreal Hello? ....Espace jeux is quite a nice site tho..(sadly no Live games)...or else, honestly...imo, our land based Casino is Amazing! probably in the Top 10!

Yes, I am afraid that an e-mail from us will follow day time our time tomorrow. The information that I have had through Net Ent is that this is a network wide IP blockage and it will come into force tomorrow.

Again, Hopefully it will be only on slots and Lives games will not be affected by this change..... :(

In my opinion, and on the face of what we have before us here, this has been badly handled and apparently left to the individual operators when NetEnt would have been the better option to issue a timely communication explaining what was going on; the appallingly short notice; and why this decision has been made.

Leaving it to the operators appears to have resulted in a situation where speculation will be rife in the absence of an official explanation....and the communication of the bad news appears to be taking place in an uncoordinated fashion with no agreed and consistent message.

Does anyone know why we are being banned? Did our PM piss someone off? What country do they come from? Ughhh, Im totally pissed! Us Canadians swear too much.

Canada is extremely grey when it comes to the legality of online gambling. A lot of operators and payment providers have pulled out already over the years to be safe. Guess it is NetEnts turn to do that now.

I think what Jetset said above was quite insightful, the part about Netent wanting to get into the USA.....(to do that they will have to be squeaky clean).
