Hey all, not my ideal first post as nobody likes the guy complaining with his first post.. But I'm a long time lurker and there's no other forum a question like this would be most suitable. Hope this is in the right place, sorry if it isn't mods.

I have been with neteller for a few years, I lived with the fee's going up every quarter, etc, just because it 'was' indeed a very easy way to withdraw and deposit into the casino's that I play at.
..Until they stopped my card(Net+).. I felt really annoyed of course, I paid for the card and used it often to gain points or to 'quickly' use winnings in an EFTPOS transaction.

At that point, I decided to cut my losses and withdraw my money, after an hour of searching through the account page.. I realized my only option was to eat hefty fees for the small amount I hadn't deposited back into casinos..
After 12 days, It finally hit my account, except it was $15 short.. I called the bank and they confirmed that they hadn't added any fees and I got the exact amount credited to my account that neteller sent. I called neteller and felt like I was talking to a brick wall.. This is all on principle now, not the amount I'm getting or have lost, but a sense of injustice.

I have added a picture to anyone confused about it all as I'm not the best at crafting beautiful sentences together -> (I have blanked out the things like balance on my bank and account numbers.)

Am I just out of luck? To me it really feels like they just charged $15 twice, as that adds up to exactly the same balance as I got and yes I'm very sure my bank doesn't charge their own fees, like I said above i've double confirmed this with them.

Thanks for your time.

It looks like you had 27.77$ in your account. The w/d cost you 15$. That would make the deposit into your account 12.77$

Seem about right.

Nope, I had 42.77 in my account; the total is at the bottom of the Neteller picture, I also confirmed this when being told by the brick wall at neteller by phone that they deposited $27.77 AUD.
Added a picture below just so its easier to understand for anyone.

It says 27.77 as transaction amount for neteller. That's what they are removing from your account.

Debits and credits together add up to $42.77.

your bank statement says they deposited 12.77

Do you have a screenshot where you can show that that you had 42.77 ....maybe you can send them that.

If you had 42.77 they deducted the 15$ right away.
That became your 27.77$ and then the deducted another $15.

Are you sure the fee is not $30, two fees one for the transaction and one for the service. Sounds weird. But who knows

I don't have a picture of the 42.77, but my account history easily shows that it equals that amount when adding everything up and you can clearly see the fee is $15..

I'm not sure if you read my last reply properly but neteller told me on the phone that they deposited 27.77... and to answer the next question you'll probably ask, yes I've confirmed the deposit amount with my bank, they confirm to only have received 12.77 (Said this in my 2nd post).

Edit: Yes it would make sense that they've double charged the $15 but thats not in their terms or what they told me so that's why I posted here to see what I can do.

actually you didnt ssay that neteller said they deposited 27.77$

you need to send them a screenshot of your 42.77, screenshot of your bank statement and ask where the 15$ went.

Ah, thanks for the direct response mate.. they did mention a 'mystery' third party bank on the phone, it was confusing.. but I kept saying "It's not my bank that is working with a third party so how is this falling on me" and then they would stop talking about it again.

So, essentially, they are using their own third party system and charging me the hidden fees? God.. Happy I'm away from it then, $30 fee to get 12$ out... Compared to when I had the Net+ card that I could withdraw cash directly from an ATM for free..

I can't remember it costing money to withdraw to my bank account with Neteller .
Net+ card cost €4 per withdraw but then again i get those back..Maybe you're not a VIP at Neteller and then you would have the worst transfer fees .

I am very disappointed not having the Net+card anymore, very disappointed

Hopefully they will bring it back.

Was there any reason they stopped it? I don't remember now.

I feel you! ..Not sure myself but I'm leading towards thinking they wern't making enough on the fees, I only come to this conclusion on the basis of how they are now conducting business.. quite toxic.

Neither, until they changed policy and removed the Net+ cards recently. :(

.. I guess from the above post hearing many australians have been having this issue lately there's not much I can do, hope they are happy in their choice to keep $30~ over a customer thats been loyal for years.

Not each bank has a full international service, hence they are using intermediary banks to handle the transfers. They are charging app. 10USD for each transaction.

Nothing unusual but indeed quite a rip-off to get a few bucks transferred. That is the reason i never transfer less than 1K to my bank.

I recently said goodbye to Neteller too, no more Net+ card, hence they are no use to me really.

Try Ecopayz, cheaper than Neteller and you can have multiple currency accounts and ATM cards.

Well, thanks for that champ.. Looks like I'll be going back to my bank knowing this.. They specifically told me that they had only received the amount shown and there was no hidden charges on their end. My account is also directly attributed to being an international no fees card, in the decade I've had the account, I've never seen this 15$ AUD charge, I've never seen any charge outside the merchant it was coming from.. But as I'm looking for answers and you are giving them, I'll see where I get (on principle, not value.. of course) going back to chatting with my bank.

With the loss of the Net+ card and all their policy changes I'm starting to wonder how much business they are losing.

Fully agree and will check out Ecopayz, thanks again - Currently looking for something that places like Ladbrokes/Unibet offer as I've recently moved towards the trots from slots ^_^ (and bonuses/turnovers are a really nice change coming from casinos, the bonuses are nearly always really useful and not a cycle of locking you in)

Your bank probably did not lie.... it was most probably the bank which Neteller is using that needed an intermediary bank to get the money to Australia.

I give you one example.... I am getting a transfer from Sweden in USD. That money travels electronically first to New York, Singapore or any other of the big financial centers before it makes its way to Thailand. Now if the sending bank is quite small and doesn't have a dependency in that city where transfers to Australia are handled they are using the ominous intermediary bank, hence the extra charge. Your bank only sees the amount coming in, nothing more.

They can however get you a full transfer report where you will see who the intermediary was.

Eco

I Echo what Harry and other members are saying in regards to Ecopayz,
Neteller lost my business and it's been Ecopayz's gain and to be honest I much prefer my eco account to Neteller with the multi currency options and Bitcoin deposits with 0% fees , paysafe with thier constant increase in fees can take a hike

What?! I had no idea. So they stopped their cards (end effectively refuse to pay winnings) all over the world except UK and Eurozone?

WTF! I already know that some cards no longer can deposit to Neteller. Also many casinos are in war with them (refuse transactions, put fees, deny bonus….).
I did a few min google search and someone somewhere said this:

“NETeller, Skrill, etc are merchants and Optimal Payments PLC is the payment gateway for them who will take money from you and hand it over to NETeller. For example, When you try to pay merchants like NETeller, it has nothing to do at all about which card you use or where you are from, but the payment gateways like Paysafe Group PLC will NOT process this transaction for NETeller by you. Because merchants and payment gateways work separately. Where merchants just take payments for their service and bill their respective payment gateways for the amount, payment gateways process the transactions only after complying by the rules & policies with global banking system(RBI, BOA, etc) and payment network system(VBV, 3D secure, etc). So, NETeller may take your card details and even save it in their records, but when you try to do the payment, the payment gateway may not process it.”

Someone elsewhere said something about letters and complaints from Visa against Mastercard.

Maybe should start another thread, titled “The death of international online casinos?” or “The death of over 90% TRTP”

Because what I get out of all this, is that some very serious capital controls have been implemented globally supposingly for anti-money laundering, but what they actually after are not the billions of corporate money. It is the 100s everyday people gamble online.

Is there someone that can tell us exactly what is going on, firstly with neteller and then with cards. I mean the whole truth and nothing but the truth. And then answer questions and then maybe we can see where this is going?

Maybe we should start another thread……
