I just tried to open an account with them, gave them my social security number, bank account information, etc....they sent me a link to activate my account and it said cannot be activated.....

I call them up, and the man says all I can tell you is your account cannot be activated.

WTF???

Now they have ALL MY INFORMATION!!!!

What do I do now?

HELP!!!

I would suggest you call them back and ask to speak to their security department. Get to the bottom of why they sent you a link to activate your account. What may have happened is you inadvertently logged into your account incorrectly, your IP address changed or something else along that line.

A few months ago I decided to reactivate my Click2Pay account and it became quite a production. I simply gave up and reopened my Neteller instead.

As far as your personal information I believe it is safe with them. They have to be very conscientious about security or they would have no credibility with the public.

Instadebit is the one I like the best for what it is worth. :D

Good luck!

I like Click much better than Neteller, never had a problem with them as I have with Neteller, just got the Click debit card, a little pricey on service charges but nice to have the cash instantly.

Did you check the box agreeing to terms and conditions

If you can not activate your account then I assume you did not agree to their terms and conditions regarding debiting your bank account.

If you did indicate agreement to this them you need to ask them to delete all of your information because I was told be my bank that once you provide these companies your bank information and agree to their terms they can submit transactions to your bank account and you can only dispute the transaction if you did not authorize it. THE CATCH is if you agreed to the terms and conditions and gave your bank information it is near impossible to recover the funds unless the company agrees to. Believe it or not, your bank can't really do anything to help you.

I use Bank of America. Check with your bank to see what will happen if Click2pay submits transactions using the information you provided them

I use Click2Pay, Epassporte and Moneybookers as well, as Hungarian citizens are not allowed to use Neteller, and at some point you can't really proceed without opening an account in order to be able to deposit to / withdraw from a specific casino or poker room.

Personally I never had any problems with Click2Pay, but I heard more complaints about them than mb or epass. Especially resolving a broken or stucked transaction between the merchant and c2pay is not easy, as you won't get fast replies from c2pay. Another issue I have heard about is that they send your debit card slowly, and the exchange rate is terrible, at least when withdrawing money in Hungary, and the withdraw fee is 4$.

I also know that some merchants tried out and offered Click2Pay, and then removed that possibility because of the high volume of problems. But I also know that other merchants have a solid background and long relationship with c2pay.

But once again, depositing and withdrawing via Click2pay and withdrawing from c2pay via postal cheque (only $2 fee) work fine for me.

I said to them, now you have all my information!!! AND THEY KEEP IT ON FILE FOR 6 YEARS!!!! That's what the man said. I said so you deny me and keep all my information for 6 years? He said yes, and still couldn't tell me the reason why I was denied!!!

I guess I will be getting a new checking account

Typical

This is an example of the arrogant crap I got from Click2pay when they made unauthorised currency translations on my deposits costing me over 50. I threatened to make a complaint to my credit card company and they eventually refunded the charges, but refused to guarantee that similar currency translations will happen again.

The claim to be based in Germany, but are actually in Cyprus according to their postal address.
They are only under EU regulation, unlike Neteller which is under UK regulation and based in the Isle of Man.

EU rules require them to keep the information for 6 years, so they are correct in this, however, if the link failed this indicates a technical error at their end, and exposes some totally useless customer service on their part.

If they DO debit the account, they could still be charged with fraud, as if your account was never activated, there would be no legitimate reason for amounts to be debited from your bank.

When I tried Click2Pay, one step was that they phoned me on my contact number for verification purposes.

Some casinos seem to think Click2Pay are great, but if they keep treating customers badly, this view will seem very much out of place from the player standpoint.

It seems all webwallets have these problems, and it is about time they got a grip on this issue, as it is their bread and butter. They are comfortable in the knowledge that card companies are reluctant to fully support gambling transactions, and bank transfers are very slow (3+ days between deposit and being able to play).

Debit cards may be a solution, but transaction limits are far lower than allowed for Neteller, and will be of no use to US players (not allowed).

They should have an office or headquarter in Germany, or something like that, because I receive my cheques from a German address, and the letters are mailed by "Deutsche Post". I can post more details later.

Just one strange thing I remember: On their cheque the owner and the address are mixed up, e.g. "On behalf of <town name>" and later comes their "company name".

Can I go to my bank and block any transactions made by them, in case they try to make one? Or should I just get a new checking account?

Form

Can I go to my bank and block any transactions made by them, in case they try to make one? Or should I just get a new checking account?

It would depend on what form the transactions were to take. In the UK it is possible to cancel a direct debit agreement directly with the bank, and any further attempts to take a debit will fail. It may be different in the US, although you could tell your bank they would be gambling transactions, and I am sure this will encourage them to block them.

It's possible to do both for accounts in the USA :)

Not strictly related to this thread...

...but I have an update to one of my post in this thread.

I stated that I have no problems with Click2Pay cheques. Today my latest Click2Pay cheque was finally paid, and some "mediator" bank (between my bank and Click2Pay's bank) deducted 39.75 USD from a 244 USD cheque!!! My bank couldn't tell me which bank did this, but I had no such problems earlier with other - non Click2pay - cheques, so I guess it's somehow related to Click2Pay, or their bank.

Seems similar to my issues with them. Looked to me like that they were doing unnecessary transactions to generate additional fees on what they advertise as a "free" service.

In my case I deposited 500 UK Pounds from Click2Pay to a casino. My Click2Pay account was also in UK Pounds, and was Linked to a Morgan Stanley credit card also in UK Pounds, guess what, they debited around 900 USD:mad: for which I was charged a foreign currency fee and the usual hidden fee in the exchange rates. This brought my relationship with Click2Pay to an abrupt end. Looks like they are "at it" again with the cheque (or one of their banks is). Neteller do charge, but at least they are up front about it, and it is small, a fixed 2 GBP for a cheque, and only 1 GBP for a direct bank transfer.
Before this, Click2Pay worked fine, but they changed something and this was the result.

I recently made my first transaction via click2pay (because a casino was offering a bonus on it). I thought account creation was annoying, mine got locked immediately after creating it. I had to sit on hold a few times to activate my account, as well as them calling me, and sending in a copy of my cell phone bill (as I used that for primary number, not a land line). Plus, on their site, I didn't like the difficulty of seeing transaction history.

Click2Pay Withdrawl Q

I recently opened a click2pay account. All verification was made. I made a withdrawl from Music Hall a few days ago and finally after numeous days in "works in progress", it got processed. I logged into my c2p account and sure enough my withdrawl was there. I hit the withdrawl button and got a default message that I only have a 1 star rating and need a 2star rating to withdrawl. The message also stated to contact them to upgrade to a 2 star rating, which I emailed them as I have been on hold an average of 30 minutes each time I call. Could someone shed some light on what this star rating is all about. Am I being conned?
Cynthia

Click2 Pay Q

Thanks Rhino, but how do I make a transaction if I can't even make a withdrawl. Maybe my blonde hair is showing way to much on this one, still confused.

I had to send them documents (including a bank account, showing MONEY or at least enough transactions to prove that you have a solid financial background), then they rated me to 3 stars (which i asked them for) and half a year later to 4 stars without documents.
never any problems with them.

Log in to your account, click on "Account", then on the right "Authentication Data". Here you can quickly upload some documents. They review the documents, and you get stars. I can't remember how long did it take, but I checked my emails, and it should have been less than 10 days, because though I don't remember when did I upload the docs, I opened my account 10 days before the approval receipt of the documents.

Click2Pay Q

I have already been authenticated. They required ne to have them call me on my registered phone, which they did. They authenticated me right after that.
My only thought right now is from Rhino's post, maybe the transaction from Music Hall is the transaction and I have to wait a week. I emailed them this morning, as of 6 hours later, still no reply.
Summary I open account
Account authenticated by C2P
MH Casino deposits my winnings into my C2P Account
I try and withdrawl some funds
I don't have a high enough star rating to withdrawl MY OWN funds
I am still totally confused

I had to call too. I was a 1 star for over a month. Made deposits but had no reason to withdraw. When I did try, I got the message about needing 2 star rating. When I asked about this they said you have always had to call to be upgraded to 2 star. I wonder if this is security? Anyway, my account is locked with a couple of bucks in it. I entered my account password once with a boo boo and couldnt get back in when I re entered with the type-o correction. I dont want to sit on hold forever either so Ill just leave it.

After more investigation, it turned out that 39.75 USD was in fact deducted by the issuer bank. One would expect that the issuer bank doesn't deduct anything. I called Click2Pay yesterday, they promised me an email answer, which I have not received yet.

A day or two ago, click2pay upgraded me to "two-star" rating, so I can actually spend a couple hundred bucks, and make withdrawals and stuff, if I needed to.

I still vastly prefer neteller, but here's a dumb question, how do you use click2pay as more of a web wallet, rather than as a passthrough to my checking account? Does it automatically work as a web wallet if I have cash in there, or is there a special "mode" (like neteller instacash) that needs to be used?

I can ony tell you how do I and the majority of people I know use Click2Pay. I can't use Neteller as a Hungarian resident. Let's assume that a poker room or a casino doesn't support VISA or moneybookers or epassporte or cheque withdrawal, so your only current deposit/withdrawal option is Click2Pay.

If you would like to deposit via C2Pay:
-if you have enough Click2Pay balance (because you already have received a withdrawal to your Click2Pay account or made a bank transfer), the deposited amount will be deducted from your balance.
-otherwise Click2Pay deducts the amount from your credit card, and sends it to the casino, and your balance remains zero.

If you would like to withdraw to C2Pay:
-your C2Pay balance will be increased with the amount. Your C2pay balance is no longer zero.

If you would like to withdraw from C2Pay, you have two options.
-Order a Click2Pay debit card for ~25$, move your money from your C2pay balance to your debit card balance via the website, and you can withdraw from any ATM. There's an additional fee for the ATM withdrawal, plus the possible conversion charges.
-Request a postal cheque. This is my story above with the 39.75 hidden charge.
By default you have no other options to withdraw. First you have to transfer money from your bank account, and thereafter you can send money to your bank account directly.

I only use Click2Pay when I can't use anything else. I would never use C2Pay as a replacement for Neteller!

No, no, sorry, that's not a prerequisite. And I forgot to mention that bank account withrawal is only available for residents of Austria, Germany, U.S. and Switzerland. For all others only cheque and debit card remain.
