@ChopleyIOM Yesterday I came across a video I must have missed somehow, subscribed to your channel long time ago.

Just wanted to say that was the most amazing story I have ever heard and watched every bit of it.
It was your friend that was struggling with things in life and came at a point where he was at an all time low.
Won't spoil the story if others wanna watch it and if Chopley wants he can share the link here himself.

But what an amazing story with the best end even remotely possible.
I don't know the fella but I genuinely felt happy when I saw that winner video.
Just an amazing stroke of luck right then and there when it was needed.

Great to watch and thanks for sharing that mate.

Just keeping the thread up to date with the latest videos:

And last night's quad slot play at VS.

Great Video, glad Holy Diver came in for you. Do you play 4 screens personally?

Good to see you pick a provider. For the first time I decided to only play one provider and picked Push a couple of nights ago. Managed a £20 dep into a £100 withdrawal fairly quickly, pure luck but am going to try again soon.

I also played a few BTG more lately and some I like, like Donuts, but my experience has been similar to your video without the big win.

Another very quirky UK machine, this time from 1991. A cash prize Space Invaders machine with a £20 jackpot!

I used to love the original space invaders video game and got pretty good on it. If I remember correctly I could clear level 15 before it became impossible. Pretty sure my record on Galactica was level 43. The landlord had it removed from the pub immediately afterwards as 20p would last me ages. Of course when a space invader that you could win money playing came along I thought my dreams had come true. Alas it didn’t work out that way due to the facts you mentioned.

Which reminded me of the first pub quiz machine. I think it was called quizmaster. It’s a long time ago now. 30 years probably but I am sure the jackpot was £10 at 20p for a game. The compensated part of it was that no matter how smart you were when it was empty the points total required was impossible to hit because the timer went so fast.

From memory it was out of reach at around 40,000 points. What it preyed on was a group of people playing it but they were generally older people who might know the answer but were a bit slow on the buttons. As the money went in the points total needed for a jackpot would come down.

The thing was the answers were multiple choice (from 3 or 4 answers). I used to watch people play it for hours and although I was only average at best with quizzes I do have a pretty good photographic memory. After observing activities for a while I realised that game didn’t have a great catalogue of questions. Enough to beat people who didn’t play often but for me I soon memorised the answers by watching.

That way when the timer became quick most people couldn’t read the question before being timed out where as I only needed to glance at the first few words and select the correct answer.

I lived in a rural area where most pubs had one of these. I would drive around hunting these things down and looking for low jackpot totals. From memory I am pretty sure if the points total was around 25,000 I could hit 3 jackpots pretty quickly usually for a pound or less. Allowing for the odd question I had never seen and guessed wrong.

My best ever was walking into a busy pub and seeing it set at 19,000. I had never seen it that low. I took it for £50 in minutes before it became out of reach. Even with my system you couldn’t beat it after a certain point because the timer became insane speed wise.

I actually got asked not to go back to a few places which I thought was a bit harsh but for a while it was a damn good way of earning serious money. Like everything good it didn’t last long as technology advanced but they were great days.

Great post snorky thanks for taking the time to post it :)

There are a few quiz style games emulated now, I've got it in my head to do a video on them at some point, I do vaguely recall a machine called Quiz Master, I'll have a poke around and see if either MFME or MAME emulate it :)

A great find for fruit machine emulation as some old ROMs for a machine hardly anyone can remember were discovered, along with a grainy old flyer. Add in a bit of coding magic from MFME's coder and some layout designer wizardry - and a rare 25 year old UK AWP is brought back to life via emulation!

I've gone all modern and done PLAYLISTS for the channel, a mere 74 years after someone suggested it would be a good idea.

I'll finesse them a bit as time goes on (the Gambling Low Ebbs videos are currently in the 'Fruit Machine Emulation and Fruit Machines' category, I think I'll do a 'Degsy's Storytime' category and stick stuff like that in there), but it's better than it was.

Enjoy!

Just adding this here to keep the thread up to date, also the IR Wild Desire video (Unlisted) that repaired a good chunk of the damage at Videoslots. (Withdrew £80 from £120 of deposits.)

Unfortunately neither Casumo or LeoVegas could be saved and were a next day bust out.

A detailed look at the random £500 jackpots that killed the traditional AWP on the Isle of Man, and why the UK will go the same way.

One to watch tonight on the big TV when kids and the missus are in bed...
Popcorn and fire lit and ready to go. :)

ahh, maybe you can help please

I tried to set something up but TV does not appear to recognise signal from PC.

I have the cable (old style multi pin monitor) PC end - HDMI (JVC TV brought only this year)

Both connect physically but regardless of which input I change the TV to it won't pick it up?

Have you checked so your drivers (graphics card) are up to date?
As far as i know, if you are using win10 it should be pretty much plug-n-play.
Atleast thats how it was for me.

If you plan on using the tv quite often to stream from the pc, i would suggest buying a chromecast.
Its like £30-40 and then you can stream wireless from your pc without troubles. =)

HI mate, no just want to connect TV on occasions as if it were a 'big monitor' odd footy match and maybe a casino session from time to time.

Have Win 7 (thru choice, hate 10) ans PC was built bespoke.

Think this is the graphic card....

Do you still have your computer-screen connected while you plug in the tv?
If so, you might need to "tell" your pc to stream video/sound to the tv aswell.
This can be done from the graphics card page in the control panel.

You should also be able to just right-click on your desktop and you should see an option for "graphics somethingsomething"
Clicking that will take you to the page where you can change settings for your card.

Easiest is probably to just google your model of card + what you want to do, so like "geforce gtx 70 ti stream to tv" and just find a guide to follow.

Nope. disconnect monitor and plug TV cable in (PC end), as you mention, thought it would be simple case of P+P.

However I don't have much patience when it comes to this sort of thing and tend to get angry and give in quite easily when it doesn't work straightaway lol

When I'm having one of my calm days, I shall give it another try :p

Yeah you seem to be pretty worked up most of the time.
Always cursing and being mean to goatwack.

Maybe if you tried going to sleep early one day you would have the energy to be calm the next.
:p

Its a good job one of my calm days happens to be happening just right now :p :p

Gave up cursing ages back, on here and in real life, reason is so simple too, no one cares, no one listens, lmao! :p
