Great read! Couldn't agree more about ICE vs LAC, night and day.

Well I had a good meal and drink in the Lowlander with Conker on the Thursday evening, and recommended the place to Bryan and Max when seeing them at LAC on the Friday! I couldn't predict a young woman wold barf all over the place through, I hope you didn't let this ruin what was for me a very good pub! The Chinese meal Tuesday evening I will have to disagree with - IMO it was the worst and most badly-cooked food I've ever eaten out TBH and tofu - I mean what the f*ck??:what: The most tasteless and pointless 'space filler' food I ever saw. The culinary equivalent of 'crispy bits' people ask for in the fish and chip shops, pieces of oil-soaked batter from the fryer....
The Meistermeet was good as usual but I am somewhat disappointed by the lack of casino people there aside from the old stalwarts but it was good to meet new members I hadn't annoyed before.
I agree the ICE is absolutely massive and you need some serious walking shoes to navigate it for a day. I saw ex-Brazil footballer Roberto Carlos there taking photos with people in the queue as he's now the Planet365 face and a few other minor celebs and I always like the ICE personally.
Agree the LAC is a rather cynical and greedy operation and quite impersonal aside from meeting the managers you already had appointments with, but it's always nice to have my badge scanned by the scantily-clad girls there although even that became annoying after a while.
Bryan's badge URL Not Found / Outdated raised some eyebrows but having been in on the joke before the week started, not from me - it was quite amusing watching the non-English speakers work out what it meant...:laugh:
I didn't bother filming or taking photos this time as it's pretty routine and I actually like the Excel as the venue - you can fit it all in comfortably and run ICE/LAC side-by-side but then again that's all I've known personally.

So not a bad week, sunny the whole 4 days I was there but I gather that illness was rampant. I felt as rough as a badger's arse when I got back, seemingly Bryan, Max and I hear Simmo did too. Aching joints, shivers and mild flu-like symptoms and a sight chest infection personally which took a few days to clear and the after effects are still here now but slowly getting better. Probably a biological warfare attack carried out by agents of the Gradunia Newspaper....

Haha oh my goodness, Roberto Carlos? He of that free-kick? Good stuff!

Yes, the famous one against Italy, in the Tournet whatever-it-was in 1997 in France before the 1998 World Cup. It struck me how small he is when I walked past too.
