Just received an email from Wink Bingo, totally unprompted and no idea why they have just sent it to me! I acknowledge the contents, but by the time the SE is over, I will surely be dead of old age!!!

It reads:

Dear member,

We processed your request for a self-exclusion/cooling off period.

You will not be able to login to this account until the period ends on 12/31/2099 12:00:00 AM GMT.

Please note: If you download the Bingo application from the AppStore and accept to receive the push notifications, we will not be able to block receipt of such notifications. I did have an account there a few years back, but closed it via SE as I didn't play bingo. Some time after the SE lapsed, I opened an account at a sister casino site, won and tried a withdrawal. They refused saying I had an active SE, I proved it was lapsed and therefore not applicable, they then extended it of their own accord saying they were concerned about my gambling! Utter BS! Anyway, finally got my money. But this story is old and dead, so no idea why they are digging it up again via this email!!

Better to be safe than sorry. You never know when you might get the urge to play in the next 82 years.

Well, if I get my family to bury me with an iPad, charging point and a credit card, if I return as a zombie, at least I'll be able to do something while trapped in the coffin!!

I'm locked out of Leo Vegas until 2066 which means I *might* have a shot (I would be 86). 2099 though? not so much :D

I thought maximum SE was 5 years. Oh well, if I remember about Cassava/Wink Bingo when I am 124 years old, I might give them another try - as long as they have bucked their ideas up!!!

The annoying thing is, I locked myself out for 50 years by mistake. I don't know how I managed that, or what the options were. I regularly take 6-month breaks from casinos to focus on work and whatever else... went back to Leo after about that timeframe only to be told "you can't log in until 2066" and to be honest I thought the CS adviser was joking. I must have manually entered a specific date and accidentally typed 2066 instead of 2016 or something daft. I tried to explain to them but it is set in stone.

It's a shame too because they're a great casino that I will never again enjoy playing at. Sigh... :(

Just checked and yes, maximum self exclusion for online casinos is 5 years. Can't you say this to Leo Vegas CS or their rep here to try and get it shortened? By blocking a player for longer is against what the rules say? Just my thoughts on it.

Still chuckling to myself for getting a lifetime ban and I haven't even contacted them for years. Damn, I must have a been a naughty boy for expecting to be paid my withdrawal!!

I have had this or similar email the past 12 months or so from a couple of casinos where I am on SE for like the next 100 years. Strange though these emails came from casinos where I had run an SE yonks ago ,.,, before I learned how to control my habit but still get my fix through using DL. And the casinos that did ban me for a century were ones I had not played in an age and actually had forgotten I had done an SE in the first place. These days I would never use SE - the closest I get is using a TAB for a week or 2.

But the whole landscape of SE is set to change anyway with the new rules being set up with the UKGC where you can do a blanket SE. I can imagine the glut of posts on here and elsewhere when this kicks in, with players being locked out every where :eek:
